The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

It's encouraging to see so many within the US going against him so quickly. Let's hope their efforts continue and it isn't just political grandstanding.

I'd already given up on most countries tackling climate change anyway. The Paris agreement wasn't worth much, here in the UK we've moved backwards on goverment policy. Industry is the only one who will correct course.

Saying that, this idiocy from Trump will be ammunition to the climate change deniers who will now feel vindicated.

Saying US will be the cleanest country in the world. What a feckwit.
Of course it will be - in the same way that Trump knows all the best words, and nobody loves women more than him. Oh, and all news is fake news as well. Basically, it'll be the cleanest country in the world because twunts like him will ignore all the evidence and use their own anecdotes or opinions as facts.

I can't see any way that after the clusterfeck of his first 150 days that he has any chance of not going down as the worst President of all time. And of course he is going to get much much worse.

Not really. His buffoonery is pretty much par for the course of 19th century politicians.

Unless he manages to incite another Civil War.

It is? I think I must have been watching different politicians. Only Tony Abbott in Australia came close I'd say and he ate a raw onion by mistake and openly hates women, Muslims and gay people. Well pretty much everyone other than rich white middle class blokes really.

You slap Trump in the antebellum South pre-Civil War and he'd be a bastion of dignity and grace.

Of course, he always represents the biggest threat to our existence, probably more so than at any other time since Bay of Pigs, but in terms of damage actually done, he has a way to go before being classed as the worst ever, and hopefully won't have the chance to realize that.

Imagine being on this guy's protection detail.

Imagine being the guy whose job it is to jump in front of a bullet for Donald Trump.

The liberal/left's former, favourite bugaboo? The industry they spent the 70s, 80s and part of the 90s stigmatising as an apocalytic threat to the environment? Bombarding us with incessant warnings about the dire consequences for the future of our children unless we put a stop to it? And succeeded in damaging, retarding or destroying across much of the world?

You mean that nuclear power?

Cute. Nehru and his children (dead) will proud that someone thinks our misplaced moralistic lectures of the past had any impact whatsoever on anybody.

I suppose he might just limit the damage by his own incompetence.

That said I think pulling out of the Paris Accord might be by far the worst thing any president has ever done. Hopefully he will crash and burn so the new president can get back on the bus before too much damage can be done.

I really don't trust Macron. Seems to me to be so obviously a product of the monied elite.

It's funny that some thought that electing trump would set the establishment class on fire. The impact has been the exact opposite. He is the best thing that happened to mainstream establishment folks. After Trump's antics most people are clamouring to get back "normal" politicians regardless of bad they were perceived to be.

It's ok folks, seriously, it's ok.... He's going to pivot soon.

And if not Ivanka and Jared will guide him on the correct path.............

"He was just saying it to get elected.":nervous:

Presumably he'll just ignore trying to meet the targets until then, though? And what happens if he just says they're leaving right away?

Yeah if they are not doing things required in the agreement in the meantime it is basically out. But I guess it helps if US is formally in the agreement by the time someone sensible comes in 2020.

True, although what happens if Trump just decides to ignore any formalities and tries to avoid them by just pulling the US out?

He can't officially. The US would still be treated as a contract partner. He can though just ignore the duties and actions.

The only way he can officially pull out ASAP is to withdraw entirely from the UN climate resolution though I don't know how long the notice for that is.

Trump supporters can get fecked to speak honestly. He told them he would do this and he has. It's been good fun laughing at his reign of terror so far but this shit effects the whole world.

Pittsburgh's mayor responed last night via Twitter, now he appeared on MSNBC.

Entirely predictable that he hasn't been able to keep any pre-election promise that involved doing something that requires thought and planning, or anything constructive. The one and only promise he's kept so far involves NOT doing something. Typical of the fat fecking fraud.

History will not be kind to Trump and the assholes who voted him in.

Well, most of the world's history, US text books will probably just skip a few years.

I'm surprised he didn't congratulate himself and re-tweeted it.

The only saving grace is that he's contracted into the agreement until after the end of this term. Not that I think he is going to last that long but the GOP have made a rod for their own back as it's a key election issue and they're going to have to now campaign against Democracts who will be making promises to scrap plans to leave the agreement. It is obviously not going to be enough to convince a certain percentage to flip from GOP to Dem and certainly not alone but combined with a huge stack of other issues it certainly gives them something to worry about.

Let's be honest, the Paris agreement was bollocks anyway. That's what is so damn frustrating for me, we can't even push through an agreement that wasn't good enough to begin with. I mean we're fecked, we're totally and utterly fecked. I don't even blame Trump because this is everything he represents, he was always going to do this and it was the main reason I was pro Hillary. And I fecking hate Hillary.

Love it how Pittsburgh is somehow a boomerang for Twitler.
