The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

I hope some centrist says this in public

Sanders isn't the leader of the party so I doubt it would matter. You can advance some of his positions (free shit for all etc) and simultaneously promote rational foreign policy positions (which Bernie lacked) to become a new hybrid politician. That's why Gavin Newsom needs to get into the race. He's the new prototype for all things left of center imo.

There probably is a Bernie wing of sorts though in that there'll be a significant number of Americans who want a genuine 'change' candidate in 2020, and not someone who they feel treads to close to the centre.

Although without knowing a lot about Gabbard, it does seem she lacks a lot of what Sanders has: for all the contempt I expect a lot within the party felt for his run, and for all the tricks I suspect were pulled along the way to ensure he wasn't the eventual candidate, I do get the impression there's a massive amount of respect for him within the Dems, and probably even among some Republicans who will abhor his views but recognise his ability as a politician and campaigner.

I would differentiate between the party setup, both the higher-ups like Perez or the Congressman and Senators, also some long-time party activists, versus the voter base - the young portion of it. The former hated him (not a party member, dangerously left-wing, focusing on inconvenient issues).

Trouble with Tulsi is she comes across as disingenuously ambitious and not having applied sufficient depth to formulating her policy positions. Nothing wrong with that since she's only 36 years old and will continue to mature over time, but in terms of running for the Presidency, she's still too immature, idealistic, and unlikeable to be seriously considered as Dem nominee.

Knocking Tulsi Gabbard for her personal stance on LGBT issues is daft IMO. If any religious person who personally believes in 'gays go to hell' but doesn't believe laws should be enacted based on those religious belief systems shouldn't be voted for, then your electable list is going to be pretty thin.

Who is knocking her on LGBT issues ?

@Raoul That's my point. Miller hasn't changed, once an a**hole, now an a**hole. Most 17 year olds a**holes mature when they get older.

Yeah, I think you need to replace asshole with sociopath because that's what he sounds like and I really don't think he's changed much. He's emotionless while he speaks, I mean lies, on camera and he fits in well with people like Ryan and McConnell. That clip of him as a youngster explains an awful lot more about him than many obviously think.

I first saw Miller going on a tirade against Ted Cruz during the primaries. He was loud, obnoxious and sounded unhinged. I haven't felt the need to revise my initial opinion after seeing him on multiple interviews.

Two days later he retweets this.

It's almost like he's on some kind of mission to show everyone how utterly incompetent you can be and still become president.

Man, this is insane.

Isn't it? I bet that he's asked them all privately for their loyalty to him and the country, saying he will reward them with trade deals just before asking them to communicate directly with him by phone.

the @ POTUS account is not Trump, no fecking chance.

It should be, and he should really have given up or put his account on hold and stuck to using the POTUS account, but like handing over his mobile phone, he refused. As you say though, it's clearly not Trump using the account, one of his aides uses it in the professional manner Trump should have, you know, like his predecessor did.

Did you miss the point. He was trashing Obamacare then deleted the tweet.

Yes, the fact that those people had to use gofundme is a disgrace, regardless of which president's name is attached to the healthcare system involved.

This is what Trump does to career diplomats -- twisting them into pretzels and looking like fools trying to explain his approach.

This question would have been relevant for many years now, under many different presidents. Honestly they should have a stock answer for it. Closeness to SA while blasting Iran isn't a new Trump-ian thing.
