The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

I remember back in the day when House of Cards came out and all the politicians in Washington were saying "Fun show, but it's not actually that bad".

Now we have a president firing the guy investigating his team and we are all here and are right to believe that he might go full Underwood and start some war as a distraction :lol:

So if Comey officially contradict the tangerine feckwit in his testimony, it'd help the calls for a special prosecutor a lot.

One of the comments.
President Trump needs to appoint someone with the highest standards of personal integrity; fully dedicated to the rigorous rule of law; possesses common sense with the ability to be fair and compassionate; proven law enforcement and investigative experience; with uncompromising dedication to the Constitution and to the American public.

Such a person, in my view, would be Trey Gowdy. He has not only all of the above qualities, but many more, plus a proven record of excellence as a current member of Congress, as a former federal prosecutor, and as a DA within him home State.

Underwood wouldn't be half as stupid as the tangerine clown.

I know I said goodnight but this one is just too good.

Bethune-Cookman is one of those HBCU's that she described as a model of "school choice" working during her Senate hearings. They haven't forgotten that.

(B-C was founded as a high school 7 years after segregation was upheld by the Supreme Court and grew into a college throughout the next 30 years)

Feel like every time I read this thread that John Schindler bloke is predicting Trump's imminent downfall.

Seems to be a lot of second-rate journalists, chancers, and frauds trying to launch careers off of this story.

Who has the power to appoint an independent special counsel? AG? Senate? House committee?
The AG, but since he's recused himself, the Deputy AG. A post Watergate law allowed Congress to do it, but that lapsed in 1999.

Either Rosenstein will have to do it, or Congress will have to re-up the law.

Drumpf isn't going to tweet his way of out of this one. If anything his twitter activity just shows how much he is bricking it.

This is getting boring on the account of nothing actually happening each time there's a new juicy development, not helped by the fact the Republicans hate liberals more than they care for democracy and dignity. Trump will slime his way out of this.

I sense nothing tangible will happen until 2019.

not unless the Dems take back the house. So yes.

You do have to wonder how long it will be before someone flips and tries to take out some one in this government or someone close to Trump.

People sooner or later are going to start saying enough is enough.

It's nuts isn't it. Literally all the good stuff he got voted in on he's done the exact opposite.
I mean, you have to take politicians at face value or what's the point.
You've got all the racist dickheads, the proper thick cnuts and the loaded who would just vote for anyone conservative, but you've also got a section of normal people who knew Hilary was a terrible choice and/or just wanted a bit of change.
Crackers.
No need to bring race into this.

It's inevitable. That's why Trump was pissed that Comey isn't spending more time and tax payer money on finding leaks within his administration.

I disagree, I think the fact there is multiple investigations ongoing is going to make it nigh on impossible for the GOP to contain it past a certain point. The leaking of classified information i without question the biggest threat to GOP and Trump Admin which is why they have gone to war on it. Without the leaks, Flynn would still be National Security Adviser and Sessions would still be leading the Russia Inquiry (although that didn't stop him firing Comey).

It's clear as day that there is already plenty of damning evidence still classified. If the investigations look like failing because of Trump Admin or GOP obstruction, someone is going to leak the worst of it to the media and force their hand to take action, much like the Trump Admin had no choice but to let Flynn go.

He's probably the most thin skinned individual in the history of western democracy.

To be honest I think I understand what DeVos was trying to say about HBCU's. She just said it the wrong way. It's just indicative of the incompetence of members of Trump's administration.

I agree with you 100%. No matter how far Trump and members of the GOP try to hide this, it would eventually come out. I'm just hoping Republicans who side with him go down in flames as well.

Who the feck believes this. They are there grinning at the photographer ffs.

Its plausible that the WH thought the photos would be shared with the WH press pool, instead of it instantly being shared only on Russian propaganda channels and leaving the American press out of the loop.

I do think the intentions of Claude, Schindler and Mensch is in the right place and they're not using this as a platform to launch their careers. If they were trying to milk this, they would be on late night shows and on cable news all the time so they could boost their name recognition.

From what i've seen, Claude has not even done a tv interview and Schinlder and Mensch are not regulars on tv shows.

I don't know about the other two but Mensch has been completely honest about using all this as a platform to launch a career and to relocate to the USA. She just said she wants to help get Trump impeached first, but her endgame is clear. At least she's been honest and open about it all though.

She is living in the U.S. already.

What she said few weeks ago is something like she will apply for citizenship after Trump goes.

Edit: "The 45-year-old Mensch, a resident of Manhattan’s Upper West Side with her three children and rock band-manager husband, is a former record-company publicist and chick-lit novelist who is better known for spinning outlandish conspiracy theories than for her investigative-reporting chops."
