He obviously cares otherwise he wouldn't spend his time trolling the media. He is apparently a voracious consumer of news - both print and TV - which explains why he is so active in pushing back against negative stories. Also, he obviously doesn't have thick skin if he's tweeting about things at 3am.

The US backing off on that front would still be devastating, granted, but a lot of other countries would just move on while the US refuses to.

Personally, I think Bernie deserves an apology, but it's never going to happen. Anyway, that one aside, he's right in what he is saying. The people now need to stand up and be counted, would have been nice if they had for the election, but nvm, now more than ever. Flint does need clean water, The President will need to be called out on his BS, a Special Prosecutor should look in to the FBI AND! in to the Russian links to the election and any possible candidate. And it's been proven the electoral college vote isn't fair, nor does it work or really, truly represent the people.

At his age and level of power, I doubt he will now care of the media thinks he is in the right. Else he would never have undertaken such an election strategy. He kept his course, no matter how anyone reacted. That takes a lot of self conviction.

Why does the result of the election change your opinion of him? All that's happened is people voting. He's still the exact same person.
There's such a thing as an overcorrection. His past actions, long before running for President, display clear signs of thin-skinnedness. Like going after (female, primarly) journalists who criticised him for years after the original piece, in one case sending the journo paper clippings with his successes on, with written comments about how great he is and how ugly she was.
His disdain for the press is something that's already coming to the fore, days after he was supposedly pivoting towards moderation.
That's not strictly true. I think the job will change him. Not enough to make most of us happy, but it will make him a better person.
