I've been thinking a lot about this lately, and it really does come off as a banality of evil kind of thing. What makes people want to destroy their world like this? To s**t where they eat so determinedly? It's a culture of nihilism.
Yea I was going over this yesterday with the missus... It's like Sith levels of corruption/evil. (Star Wars Rebels had just finished)

The answer is greed.
America will be thrown to the wolves, unless reasonable people take action.

It's scary thinking of just how bad it'll get when Wall Street has free reign to properly feck people over and when mentally unstable people are perfectly fine buying guns and ammo.

Stay the feck away from the USA.

"We're implementing President Trump's agenda in record time and fulfilling one campaign promise after another,” said Stephen Bannon, the chief strategist, in a statement sent through a White House spokeswoman. “That shows you what a great job Reince is doing."
Straight outta Goebbels .

Don't forget corporations, who are "people". I watched most of that documentary someone posted here a few weeks ago, fierce depressing stuff.

A good indication of why Trump will never be accepted by the government workers and why Bannon wants to "bring down the administrative state".

Basically this. It's easy to get carried away, but Trump is not going anywhere, for at least 2 years, at worst 4.

On a broader scale, While it seems there are controversies dogging his rule, his government has pushed a lot of deregulation's and have empowered ICE and Immigration officials to turn back immigrants (legal and illegal) on flimsy grounds. His base is loving it. As with elections, there seems to be a big disconnect on public sentiment captured by media, TV and in real life. I spent the week in Indiana and everybody is more than happy with way things are going. They even had time to ask about my salary and my visa type during conversations.

This.

For all the noise criticizing Trump and the administration, they are only dancing to the tune of Trump. He has been successful in managing the new cycle and rally up his base with ease. Each time there is a news storm about something, he just tweets BS and the media jump on criticizing that tweet and conveniently forget about the issue at hand.

Break this down for me please, what am I seeing here Raoul?

I don't think they do. Maybe the public does. Think about it, as a journalist, are you going to quit your investigation and jump on a Trump tweet just because? No. I don't buy this at all... The public being caught up in the latest storm? Well that's another thing... Issues are being reported on (some admittedly underreported), but the tweets are being highlighted because social media is so prevalent nowadays. The average person also won't look past the immediate news in their various feeds.

The chart shows a massive disparity between how much government employees donated to the Hillary and Trump campaigns. Essentially, the entire government apparatus is anti-Trump, which sort of underpins the leaks coming out.

The Republicans really are slowly pushing towards a one party state aren't they? They're trying to dismantle any democratic strength the DNC have.

Non-Republican-Bias media - tear them down.
Pro-Democrat Demographics - Dilute their voting bases throughout republican strongholds and suppress their rights to vote.
Traditionally Democrat Unions - Suffocate them by cutting their funding.
Federal Agencies favour Democrats? - Start liquidating them.

It's no longer democracy when the party in power is able to destroy the opposition party's infrastructure.

I somewhat agree. It's becoming quite clear there is a fundamental difference in the way Americans think and the rest of the developed world. Most European countries would be embarrassed by this administration but I don't think americans care about these kind of things. Or at least not enough Americans care. I think, to many Americans care about one single issue and don't pay enough attention to other issues.

He doesn't even believe Comey, his best friend from the general election;
http://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/trump-obama-wiretap-james-comey-235709

Ugh. The doublespeak in that.
“You know, I don't think he does, George,” Sanders said. “I think he firmly believes that this is a storyline that has been reported pretty widely by quite a few outlets. The wiretapping has been discussed in The New York Times, BBC, Fox News and we believe that it should be looked at by the House Intelligence Committee.”

As he would wind up doing multiple times throughout their interview, Stephanopoulos interjected at that point to tell Sanders that what she had said was incorrect and that none of the media reports to which she referred actually backed up Trump’s accusation. All told, the “Good Morning America” anchor stopped Sanders five times to correct her over the course of their five-and-a-half minute interview.

Another one bites the dust. Alex Oronov (Michael Cohen brothers father in law) died a couple of days ago. Though this time the death was in the US and not Russia.

According to another board, that's the ninth fatality of a top Russian official since Trump won the election.

That is a good sign then. Just recently I read (Edit: a report from) Arendts report of the Eichmann trial:

One of the creepiest passages in the book described the Wannsee Conference. Hitler and Himmler and a few other highers-up had decided on the Final Solution; a policy change from forced emigration to extermination. They wanted to inform the civil service of their decision, but they expected trouble:

The problem was much more acute, however, with respect to the higher career men in the Civil Service, directly under the Ministers, for these men, the backbone of every government administration, were not easily replaceable, and Hitler had tolerated them, just as Adenauer was to tolerate them, unless they were compromised beyond salvation. Hence the undersecretaries and the legal and other experts in the various Ministries were frequently not even Party members, and Heydrich’s apprehensions about whether he would be able to enlist the active help of these people in mass murder were quite comprehensible. As Eichmann put it, Heydrich “expected the greatest difficulties.” Well, he could not have been more wrong.

[...]

The main point, as Eichmann rightly noted, was that the members of the various branches of the Civil Service did not merely express opinions but made concrete propositions. The meeting lasted no more than an hour or an hour and a half, after which drinks were served and everybody had lunch – “a cozy little social gathering.”

Having worked in some dubious countries n including corrupt dictatorships ... my 6th sense tells me that Trump is a laundering front for the more unpleasant people/families around the world. They channel their money through him to invest into his franchised hotels .. who in turn are built but equally dubious characters who want to clean up their ill gotten gains.... all under the glamorous Trump brand.

Good read... the write said there r probably dozens of similar trump deals.

I think your statement isn't entirely accurate. If you look at the popular vote, it's clear that most Americans didn't want this joke of a candidate and president in the first place. Secondly, if you follow polls on various issues, often a (sometimes thin, granted, but still) majority objects to most measures of 45's administration and of 45's behavior.

Furthermore, IMO many people in European countries are comparable to 45 voters, usually the ones who vote for far-right and/or nationalist parties and candidates, whether it's UKIP in the UK, FN in France, AfD in Germany, this Wilders (spell?) guy in NL, FPÖ in Austria, the Orban voters in Hungary, the ruling party in Poland, the real Finns in Finnland etc etc etc.

I'm not sure that graphic is overly enlightening or insightful. Government employees are usually unionized so it's an easy bet that the vast majority of them won't vote conservatively.

Old news being confirmed this morning on Fox Business
Kellyanne Conway says Iraq would no longer be on list of countries affected by Trump’s revised immigration ban

Leni Riefenstahl also complained that, the press not believing Trump was an example of the MSM double standards wrt anonymous sources.

This kind of nonsense is as bad as all the stuff that comes out from the right. That article is just a cobbled together peice really with nothing substantial.

You'd definitely find plenty of breaches within the Trump organisation, you'll strugtle to find a single one particularly international that doesn't.

Hm. I'm by no means an expert on these matters but recent intelligence reports rebuked the suggestion that there's a particular terror threat by people from the previous seven, now six countries. I'd therefore expect states taking legal measures again.

What are the odds that this is a coincidence?

so....

- Iraq no longer on list
- Green card holders unaffected
- Order imposed on 16 March

and is applicable to those who applied for visas after the 27th of Jan.

Again though id say every UK and American bank will have countless examples of such dodgy contacts. Most rely on your typical sanctions PEP check lists and little more.

He should release his tax returns i think everyone in office should. Off the back of reading tories defending Hammonds right to not release his taxes i found an interesting story, apparently in Norway everyone has their taxes published online. Certainly a good idea i think
