The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

What's problematic is that people don't seem to understand the travel ban. What I've described is is related to immigration control, and treating them like they're mutually exclusive will only allow the complacency of the past to creep back in. The fomentation of extremism in Islamic countries is a growing concern, more so since the emergence of IS. Supposing that those extremists decide to strike on American soil, and seeing as it's possible they can slip the net due to inadequate security measures through official routes, eliminating the possibility of them entering by that method automatically makes their job more difficult. Their ability to use unofficial routes is a another issue that doesn't make this any less true.

So it's an Islamic ban and the government has been lying from the beginning. If they think what you are saying, they should ban all countries with muslims, all countries with mosques.

Firstly, before I go any further, may I compliment you on being maybe the first and only Trump supporter (or sympathiser) who has posted in this thread that is intelligent, articulate, non confrontational and not condescending or rude. It's a pleasure reading your replies, and it's no hassle responding to you either. Thank you.

Yep, fair play @Fener1907. @SwansonsTache too.

Is this the first day he hasn't done anything incendiary or offensive? Seems very quiet

@Fener1907 Is going to go proper Stockholm syndrome soon.

It's just nice to be able to discuss without it descending in to a sneering contest or having "liberals" or "snowflakes" or some other moronic insult thrown your way. It's also nice for someone to not blame everything on Hillary, Obama or the Dems.

The thing I don't get is why the Americans are worried about a terrorist attack, but don't seem to mind selling guns to every nutjob who might use these weapons in things like school shootings. Surely the gun laws in the US are a far bigger threat to national security than ISIS?

Not sure what's being discussed right now but I presume the whole Milo thing is fair game for this thread? Am I the only one who thinks that he wouldn't have been frozen out by CPAC and Breitbart if he'd made near to the knuckle comments about girls having sex with older men?

I mean, the fecking president has gone on record telling a prepubescent girl he'd date her when she's older. Milo's a troll who can't complain about getting his fingers burnt if he chooses to dance with the devil but it's kind of depressing the way his new comrades revert to type given half a chance.

I think he would have been fi ne if he'd made near to the knuckle comments about anything. But he didn't. If he believes everything he said, fine. If he wants society to be fine with how he thinks... live by the sword, die by the sword.

They never understand it. I have tried and their little right wings brains can't do the math.

I can't believe he fecked up so badly though. He always knew where the line was, and how far to cross it to get his supporters hard, while keeping himself 'respectable' (ie mainstream people would cover him with the adjective flamboyant or maybe internet troll, rather than the adjective white supremacist or something similar).
He would know that paedophilia is a line in society nowadays, and just as was going mainstream, he condones it - I wonder if he knew what he was doing.

Milo is advocating and even claiming that it's ideal for very young homosexuals to be under the wings of older men (A gay friend told me the same thing once).

His whole premise is simply ridiculous. I get the thought and sentiment behind it. I even accept that there may well be a fully developed 13 year old boy out there that is emotionally and physically developed enough to have an 'adult' relationship with a 28 year old male. Just in the same way that there's a 13 year old out there that has two degrees studying astrophysics.

The problem is that we can't run society like that. We can't protect the "weak/majority" if we make rules based on the "Strong/minority".

It is almost universally true that a 30 year old man who is intelligent, well rounded, balanced and honest would be able to be around a growing girl/woman and put her at ease about the world, body issues, sex, life at a far better standard than someone her own age.

But that also takes away the whole process. Someone grooming you for life, limiting your exposure to the natural learning curve, not allowing you to make mistakes that educate you as you pick up lessons and social cues from those around you, from your own generation.

Sure, a kid that knows he's gay and feels stifled by life at 13... He's going to have it a little tougher. But advocating the whole process is ok to be circumnavigated by introducing an adult to 'Help'... It's so painfully short-sighted. Gay people relate to this and many gay men have had a 'father figure' come along to make sense of things for them. Sometimes it's damaging, sometimes it's not. Yet the gay community needs to just accept that society as a whole needs to be adjusted to a point of better understanding.

Milo is a cretin. Not unintelligent. But a cretin nonetheless. One of those people where I'd actually like to sit in a room with and see if they believe all of their own BS. To find out if the media has given a platform to a truly bad egg.... Or if it's just someone that has such a craving for fame that they've moulded themselves into something detestable in order to make money and stay 'relevant'.

Communities are being devastated as their jobs are taken elsewhere.
Maybe "elsewhere" are better and cheaper at producing our needs?

I'm sure Mr Trump and his Billionaire sidekicks have become rich, powerful and successful by buying and using foreign goods and services.

Perhaps someone should let Mr trump know to sign an executive order banning parents to stop producing children: Surely they will eventually steal someone's job, space, hospital bed, need social care, etc...

Wow...Sen Tom Cotton is getting absolutely roasted at a town hall right now. We need a video of this.

Yeah, would love to see that. Saw one of Mitch getting battered about health insurance the other day too. As someone else here said, these town hall's aren't doing the Republican's any good at all are they?

There is incredible mass rage at these town halls, mainly because of health insurance coverage fears about removing Obamacare. I can't see it being repealed after this.

Milo's politics were always totally shallow. The only particularly interesting thing about him was the way people reacted to his trolling, which is why people rising to his bait only added to his credibility. Unfortunately for him, part of having the freedom to speak is having to deal with the consequences of what you say. Or, as a wise man once said, chat shit get banged.

There were issues with the way a lot of people reacted to Milo, so it's rather neat that he screwed himself over and saved others the trouble.

Birth of the Coffee Party?

Sorry

As I've said he was only really ever interested in issues surrounding freedom of speech like social talking points such as feminism, immigration arguments etc. When it came to forming actual arguments that would have some sort of basis for policy he had nothing, and predictably strayed clear of economics etc.

Delighted to see Milo is finally getting his comeuppance.

Quite a harrowing rise and fall, with him getting prime time with Bill Maher one day, and being utterly degraded the next with this humiliation.

Its an early warning to other wannabe's who align themselves with Trump for a quick ride.

In the UK, people like May and Piers Morgan will be eternally scarred for trying to align themselves with him.

Indeed. That lack of a coherent philosophy will hurt him now as he doesn't have any actual principles to fall back on. His entire schtick was based on other people's reactions rather than his own arguments, which means he has no way to respond when those reactions suddenly don't suit him.

and Piers Morgan

Nah, as much as I detest Morgan people won't give a shit about his connection to Trump. He was involved in hacking Milly Dowler's phone for fecks sake, and he just moved to the states, got a job on CNN then came back and landed a cushy number on Britain's Got Talent, and now has his own interview/chat show. Seriously, I'd love for him to fall but if hacking the phone of a dead girl didn't do it, I can't see what will. He's just one of those smarmy feckers who gets away with everything and always lands on his feet. Probably why he gets on so well with Trump.

It's all BS anyway because he's actually very liberal, although he's a Conservative voter, he's still very liberal compared to the US Republicans, and he would always vote Dem if he had to vote in the US. He clearly said on the Bill Mayher show that he didn't agree with many of Trump's policies, if any really and certainly not the travel ban or relaxing the gun laws, he just defended him because he feels he's being attacked unfairly and it's all over the top. He's really just a friend from when he won Trump's Celebrity Apprentice show and he's spied an opportunity to get back in the US after he lost his job on CNN.

Stupid east coast liberal elites..... in Arkansas!

This is the one I was watching earlier. Arkansas is a pretty conservative state. For this sort of thing to be happening there this early in the Trump admin is pretty ominous for the GOP.

An Animal Welfare Party voter, actually!

You'd hope but it's always important to remember in any such videos it's ultimately a very small subset of people - there'll still be swathes of people in blissful ignorance. Still though, definitely not a good thing for them either way.

George Soros is obvious racking up quite a bill!

Tom Cotton is the worst of the worst. Though he is at least turning up to meetings, unlike many of his party colleagues.

Oi Mr pedantic pants, you know what I meant. Actually :p

Class change restroom monitor will become an "extra duty" under my contract

In India teachers in public or subsidised schools and colleges have to perform election duty - sit at a booth, check the names and ID, and file a report. Same for you? (Many other govt employees have to do the same)

Healthcare is one of those issues that cuts through political lines. The fact that there are so many people uniformly venting at their reps all across the country is very significant. If this spirals out of control, it will drag the entire Trump and GOP agenda into the abyss.
