So they plan on privatizing PBS, eliminating the National Endowment of the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

I'm not holding my breath. Although I've said it... Obama v Trump lawsuit to drop at DC District Court, during the speech or hours after, would cause me to smile. I'll take any other accuser though.

Its a pretty simple matter - divest from all assets or don't divest and continue to profit from them as President.

I have a feeling his first few weeks is going to be worse than the last couple in regards to horrible appointments and revelations.

Lots of "surely he's not allowed to do that?"

If we're going to get all proper... yes, the argument that he couldn't possibly fully divest himself from his business in any practical way has some legs. So then the question is indeed what takes precedent: the right of the people to elect whomever they want, or the impossibility of annulling any appearance of conflicts of interest? The former seems more powerful.

If a decent person of his financial profile were elected, I think some steps like placing the entire thing in a trust would be appropriate, and then hiring non-family management with a mandate to actually look to sell assets that could be sold over time, is probably in the ballpark of the most you could do.

The big difference between this and previous inaugurations is Presidents usually get a "honeymoon period" to settle in and get to work. With Drumpf the war will begin immediately. Plenty of hearings on Russia, Trump campaign collusion inquests, and loads of controversy about his cabinet nominees. etc.
