Gotcha. Though I can’t help but imagine you'd feel differently if votes like that resulted in tragedies that hit you closer to home. I think more people need to hold those Iraq votes to a higher standard.
Obvious, it’s human nature.

I remember that after the terror attack in Paris, most people on FB had the French flag background, but there was a bigger attack with more casualties around the same time in the Middle East.

Think there's an equasion for that something like deaths divides by distance minus time.

Im not above admitting that I read a headline like this. Terror attack *gasp* in kabul *oh*.

'Not now, honey - I'm busy photoshopping dogs with medals'.

 'FAKE NUDES!'

Meanwhile...

Word on the street is that on Tuesday, at a private fundraising event for top Republican fundraisers, Donald Trump went a little rogue.

At first he was just reminiscing, thinking about that time the Louisana Republican Steve Scalise got shot – as you do.

But then he came out with this gem of a line: “Scalise’s wife cried her eyes out when I met her at the hospital that fateful day … I mean not many wives would react that way to tragedy, I know mine wouldn’t.”

I think it’s not just distance, but the culture/country you identify with.

I certainly feel more concerned with things happening in Western Europe than West Asia, despite living in East Asia.

Anyone on the caf who's a resident in the US of A vote for trump and If so are you an idiot?.

This 'guarding the oil' exercise is fecking idiotic in the extreme

That’s the 4-118, 30th BCT that’s been deployed. Look out folks, Upstate SC is in the desert.

As to the question of why a National Guard unit was chosen for this, the 30th BCT’s nickname is “Old Hickory”, named after Trump’s favorite guy, Andrew Jackson.

1. Yes, guarding the oil is pretty idiotic. If the Iraqi army (with embedded US SF, and with US air and fire support) can't keep the area from being overrun by the 2019 version of ISIS, then they're not good for anything at all and the whole effort should just be scrapped.

2. A National Guard BCT should still be up to (the unnecessary) task. As long as this deployment is within their schedule of deployed time vs non, I see no big issue.

3. Anyone besides CBP at the border is retarded.

This will weed out any Rambos within the units.

You mean Trump didn't draw it with a sharpei?

Yeah it's photoshopped you can see the outline around the dog.

What's the Trump equivalent of the Hitler Youth haircut?

I started typing "Hitlerjugend" into google to find some pictures, and the top auto-complete suggestion was "Hitlerjugend haircut", which makes me think too many people have the same question. That said, the second result on google images is Ralph Fiennes from Schindler's List.
