Anyone who's read a mob novel will know exactly how The Dong was 'losing' money.
I'm watching the farewell speech right now. Haven't gotten that vibe. More of just encouraging people to stay active and to pursue what they want for America through democratic meansJust listening to a clip from Obama's speech.
It's basically 'let's be even more annoying than the morons who responded to everything with 'thanks Obama' or requests for the birth certificate'.
Sounds like a plan (genuinely... hard to get the tone for last minute sincerity, just through text).
Just listening to a clip from Obama's speech. EDIT - I appear to actually be listening to it live. I just woke up. Go away.

'The left' has a license to be preachy has hell, the next few years. It shall be used.

He said that. He also said things about arguing on social media and arguing in person.I'm watching the farewell speech right now. Haven't gotten that vibe. More of just encouraging people to stay active and to pursue what they want for America through democratic means
He'll be a lapdog for those who got him elected and give speeches at their corporate dinners for 300k a pop like every other president before himSo, what does he do next? I've heard suggestions he considers these exceptional times and so is willing to break with the norm for ex-presidents and will continue to comment on politics.
Fair enough. He'll be a lapdog for those who got him elected and give speeches at their corporate dinners for 300k a pop like every other president before him

That's the sort of answer I was looking for. Ta!I read in politico that Organizing for Action has already hired a few people and Obama will lead this advocacy group for fights on progressive matters. This group will work hand in hand with Eric Holder and his effort on the re-districting process. I'm sure there will be book tours but doesn't seem like he's riding off into sunset.

Just him, solemnly reading out Trump tweets.I'd love to see him do a weekly TV show of some sort, he's a very compelling man.
He can't. He was debarredI wish he'd go to the Supreme Court. That couldn't happen anytime soon, though...
True, but not an unprecedented move should a Dem get the WH in 2020I wish he'd go to the Supreme Court. That couldn't happen anytime soon, though...
Voluntarily. Wouldn't take much effort for him to practice law again. He can't. He was debarred
Mitt Romney is a fecking idiot. Anyone who's spend more than 5 minutes listening to Trump knew what was up.Anyone else feel bad for Mitt Romney about the way he was treated? I think he would have been a good SoS. Instead, this Exxon Mobil guy gets it. How exactly is Rex Tillerson going to bring about any sort of positive change around the world? Mind boggling.

He's not. That's not what Trump is appointing him to do.Anyone else feel bad for Mitt Romney about the way he was treated? I think he would have been a good SoS. Tongue in cheekVoluntarily. Wouldn't take much effort for him to practice law again.
Besides that, it isn't a Constitutional requirement to be a member of the bar to be on the SCOTUS
My apologies. It's dang hard to read tone on hereTongue in cheek
I wish it had been an even bigger humiliation. He made that speech railing against Trump then ran to kiss his ring (both) as soon as he was elected. fecking snake.
Did he feel bad for Mitt?Bernie Sanders' town hall on CNN yesterday was great.
Timeline thread re: Manafort, Stone, Trump and Russia
Did he feel bad for Mitt?
Believe it or not, I wasn't suggesting otherwise.Whatever you say, Romney would have been better than Tillerson, who is going to do nothing to resolve international problems. Romney might not be good but compared to Tillerson, he would have been better.
Even better would have been to reach across the aisle and appoint someone like Al Gore but to think that is just pure fantasy. Never going to happen. The lobbyists and special interests are too strong.
Oh wow. Am interested if anyone else comes up and verifies this
The end of the American empire? Maybe? feck knows...So.. What happens when it comes out that our POTUS is linked in with the Russian gov't and the Russian Mafia?
What interesting times we live in
