Flawed beliefs? Like fairness and equality for all? Free healthcare and education?

How is that flawed?

btw, "free education" is a loaded question. Unis used to be a luxury and most people would get decent jobs after high school or vocational school. If we can ensure that people don't have to go to unis to just get a job (and trust me plenty of people are just doing that and not to learn and discover) then it should be implemented as such.

As it stands too, I believe state schools of your own state should be free but not ever department should receive equal funding. STEM programs and current job shortage roles should but then you're going back to the vocational school background.

Either way, system needs to be improved.

My mum keeps asking my sisters, who live there how Trump is America's president. She has this image of an incredibly liberal righteous country. We keep telling her at least half of the country thinks like Trump and like him because of what he does. She's having a hard time wrapping her head around it. She's taking a trip to see ome of them living in Alabama. I told her she is going to see the real America.

There is no real of fake America just a lot of polarization. Carrboro, NC is more liberal than your average town in south Holland for instance.

Alabama isn't "the real America" by any means; it's pretty much the extreme example of a redneck backwards State.

It's no more fair to tar the entire nation with that brush than it is to suggest that the "real America" is actually liberal and that Trump et al aren't truly representative.

The truth is it's an extremely divided country and there isn't one "real" version of it.

Don't know that guy Swalwell, but he says what needs to be said. Good it happens publicly in the House. In general, Trump's and his companions's reactions over the racism allegations show that they hit the right spot.

Agreed.

I'm not familiar with Carrboro but that looks like an urban area, right?

I think it's fairly simple, there is an urban / rural divide in general and a coasts/ middle America divide broadly/generally speaking.

And further to my point above, Huntsville in Alabama is alright as a bit of an urban/university/technology town.

Should have framed it differently. She is going to vet a good idea why Trump is president. Shes only been to NY/NJ.

It's an offshoot of a college town. Hip sort of place. Plenty of new grads and openly gay establishments.

Yeah no worries, just giving your mother some credit. A lot of people in liberal pockets of America are as confused. They stand for totally different things.

I see the this forum is still so leftists and a echo chamber for your flawed beliefs. In fact this whole forum should replace the heading from trump presidency to democrats supporters of the world. Keep stroking each other.
We have an old saying where I come from;

"Let's face facts, Trump is shit. Republicans dish out but can't take it. The crowd chant high, as we decry. Manufanatic exists, but why?"

I didn't understand it until now, but if you look at it closely you can break it down;

"Let's face facts, Trump is shit." This is a play on words. You see, Trump (in this case I believe this is referring to the child raping bigot known as Donald Trump) is not a literal shit but, in fact, a manifestation of general shitiness of attitude. It also highlights Trump's failure at anything he has ever gotten his hands on. Whether that be his businesses or pleasuring his wives.

"Republicans dish out but can't take it" this line is slightly less obscure. It is referring to the fact that 'republicans' - in this case a loose term to refer to anyone who blindly supports the actions of a senile xenophobe because they either themselves believe in what he does or are willing to lower their standards for general humanity for their own selfish gain - are notoriously thin skinned.

"The crowd chant high as we decry" is a double rhyme. Completely accidental, just like anything Trump has done that appears remotely intended.

"Manufanatic exists, but why?" Is rhetorical and requires no further analysis.

John Crace had better watch out.

Great reviews. The best reviews of any forum in the history of this country. Many are saying it's the best of all time.

That's a real fancy way of saying 'my views are outdated and most people disagree with me, but I'll construct it in a way that makes it seem like society generally being in agreement on something is what's wrong.'

Yep great reviews. The best people too. We only have the best people. The smartest... I'd say the smartest anyway. Not a lot of people know that but it's true. Very good people. Good looking people. People people!

You can say a lot of things about manufanatic but his post being a "fancy" way of saying anything isn't one of them.

Ignore the forum if it is so unpalatable. But, by all means, don’t try to add to the discussion & specify your claims.

What a shock that @manufanatic has trolled and ran.

It's completely fine to have differing opinions, shit, I welcome them as discussion and debate is how progression works. However, making ridiculous statements and not defending them or backing them up and just leaving is the work of a true troll snowflake.
