The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

Big mistake for him to bring up "not" mocking a disabled reporter, as the media are now just going to replay that video over and over.
God, how can he just go on and on and deny the shit he has said and done with cameras watching? That guy is simply too much.

Attacking Meryl Streep now. Its madness isn't it, I hope they never do but surely they need to take that Twitter account off him.

He has no diplomacy whatsoever. I can't believe states that voted him were really this backwards.

The 3 Streep tweets were 16 minutes apart. So likely more than 20 minutes to draft all 3. Apparently that is the norm for him. He's actually thinking a lot about this which is even more worrying.

Before the elections they aired a documentary about Trump's background, going into depth about influental people in his life, former mentors etc. So they brought up Roy Cohn:

The narrative was that he's the guy who learned Trump to simply raise the stakes at all costs, that's basically his sole tactic, and woryingly the bedrock of all his success. You'd figure there was some complex mechanism behind it, but there really isn't.

Someone attacks you, you turn it around. Someone reacts to that, you go over the top. Someone makes a very valid point, it's looking bad for you, so you just go over the top as hard as you can and turn it around on them. No matter how bizarre and flawed the logic is, as long as you keep on going, you'll be succesful. Of course this concept really comes natural to his personality.

But it's so weird that this seems the core principle behind all of Trump's political tactics, and even weirder how effective it has been for him. I showed Trump's tweets to my 69 year old uncle this weekend, who's a historian and digilliterate. He could and would not believe that was real, of course he heard some things in the news about Trump tweeting, but after we went through Trump's twitter page on my phone, he was nearly shell shocked.

Maybe he is typing reeeally slowly on his phone.
Because his hands are tiny and the keys are so hard to reach.

I can only hope this is fake. :(

He might be an ignorant fool, but it would be a terrible feeling if that was how you found out you've duped yourself for years. Especially around something so vital like healthcare.
feckwits like that are why we're in the situation where the President Elect is attacking Meryl Streep on Twitter because she was mean to him.

No thought whatsoever, just blindly following the likes of Faux News and talk radio wankers.

The GOP cronies come up with these names for things, like "Obamacare", because it's easier to attack and paint as something bad while idiots don't realise what's actually going on.

There was an article in a German newspaper yesterday I would love to have in English.
Basically, Trump is really suspicious of modern technology and the internet especially.
He doesn't use the internet or google at all, all newspapers he reads he reads as prints delievered to him by his crownies.
He also, and that is actually the most worrying part, doesn't personally read E-Mails. Those are printed out by his crownies and given to him, effectively meaning THEY decide what he gets to read. He will write down his answer on those printed E-Mails with a pen. Those get scanned (yes, really) and sent as a pdf. Madness.
Apparently, it's also one of his tactics to get out of legal trouble. In 2003, a Florida prosecutor wanted to force the Trump corporation to hand over all E-Mails regarding a real estate deal. Turns out there literally were none. It was all done in meetings and on paper.

What the feck will he do when he goes on his first visits to other countries :D Just imagine when he visits Berlin (where there will be big protests and a LOT of insults thrown at him)....will he tweet afterwards?
"Angela Merkel, one of the most overrated chancellors in Germany, couldn't stop her dishonest people and media to attack me. She is a Obama flunky who wanted to get her pussy grabbed by him. I never was a "dumb piece of shit" as media called me. Just more dishonest media. Sad!"

Here they talk about Erick Erickson (mentioned in the German article), a columnist who received a digital scan of a hand written note by Trump, thanking him for one of his columns last year.

Donald Trump rarely opens his Apple computer. Friends say he doesn’t surf the Web, preferring to read print newspapers, and he keeps stacks of magazines on his desk. Aides say they have never received an email or text message from him.

Trump’s strange analysis this week of the Russian hacking scandal — “computers have complicated lives very greatly” and “nobody knows exactly what is going on” — sounded wildly out of sync with the tech-obsessed culture that Trump has so expertly tapped into through Twitter...

He would just say "You Germans don't know what the feck you're talking about, and as a matter of fact I am more German than you people" - or perhaps, "Ich bin ein Bavarian, ask my grandfather!"

That's kind of a sobering thought :(

It's a relief that he 'only' called Meryl a Hillary flunky. I was expecting far worse when I read the 'She is a...' part.

Just take a pause for a moment and think about the fact that you're almost giving credit to the President Elect of the United States for only relatively mildly attacking an actress for voicing her political concerns.

This is where we are. He's lowered expectations to a level nobody knew existed just a few years ago.

The Don takes no shit

He is quite entertaining in a worrying way. To think when he is president he will still be tweeting away bitching at anyone and everyone who crosses him

I still can't get over him attacking Toyota for looking at putting a factory in Mexico.

Is he going to threaten all foreign car companies with high taxes if they don't make all cars for the American market in America?

Imagine if he started talking about "the war chest". There's nowhere to run.

I could understand it a little bit if it's an American car company shipping production out of the country... But damn... Toyota?

He genuinly thinks a trade and tarrif war is a good thing in a globalized world. When actually, just everyone loses. Just in this case he is a bit stronger position. He can just threaten to do that while there can't be an direct answer, as nobody outside of america buys the shitpiles on 4 wheels GM and others are producing.

Yea, Vauxhall/Opel (GM) and Ford don't sell anything outside the US...

They're still GM/Ford products

Irrelevant, as I was clearly referring to the stuff they produce in the US. The US just doesn't export a lot of cars, even less so their "native" brands. And the reason that Ford and Opel produce in Europe and mostly produce completely different cars is that nobody in Europe would buy most of the stuff they do build in America.

He's so thin skinned. He gets so excited with flattery and gets so angry about any slight.

I think we should try and get him to have a go at the Caf' or some made up character or something.
