For me the poll is actually pretty sinister: today Trump will decide what he's going to do with regards to another shutdown, despite the house reaching some kind of agreement. All throughout the shutdown, polls were clearly showing how unpopular his position was, and that the vast, vast majority of people were against his approach.
Lo and behold, the night before he has to decide, a new poll from Rasmussen says he's doing totally great, up 10 pts from their own poll two weeks ago. And lo and behold his handlers make sure he knows all about it.
Genuinely wonder if it's not some coordinated manipulation of his sensitive ego by the Stephen Millers of the world.
