Eric Trump:
It’s ‘truly heartbreaking’ that NBC made Trump golf course look bad for firing undocumented workers

Yeah don't shine the light on your hypocrisy

Trump devoured Steve Bannon. He'll soon devour Ann Coulter, the horse face.

Apparently, you don't get a tax credit for children if your child isn't a US Citizen. My daughter has a SSN number but a lot of my colleagues who are H1 B visa holders have kids who don't have a SSN number as they are dependent H1 visa holders. With the latest tax laws, only people with valid SSN's get the 2500 child tax credit. Otherwise, if your child doesn't have a SSN number, you can't claim tax breaks with the ITIN (Tax identification number)

They go to the extra mile to kick the H1 B guys in the nuts.

Frightening read. I was raised Republican and I too have seen how far right they've been pulled, some on their own volition. I left the party around 2009/2010 and have to come see that my beliefs and philosophies certainly align more liberal.

My sister is in a similar position. I tell her that she's basically a centrist/moderate democrat now in today's political climate.

Dude you've been posting in this thread forever and you thought I was that wheelies guy in the Agile thread

Depressing how both the US and UK seem to be going the extra spiteful mile to make the lives of immigrants harder.

Unfortunately it's happening everywhere.

and the comments to an article on these deportations really are frightening and explains partly why we are where we are...

Then there's the Irish State's policy of direct provision (a much needed light shone on this by the excellent drama Taken Down) that is inhumane and has seen dozens of deaths of those incarcerated with a significant percentage of those unexplained. Meanwhile state appointed contractors make millions from the misery

Yup, we've got serious problems here. There's a growing undercurrent of seriously vile opinions that are feeling empowered to speak publicly. And an Italian lad is trying to hold a Lega meeting in a town not far from me. An immigrant, complaining about immigrants.

And proposed direct provision centres getting firebombed. The right are emboldened everywhere. Grim.

There's something genuinely tragic about this breed of proud ignorance that Trump and his followers exhibit.

In earlier days simple evolution would have dealt with such swathes of the species. Oh you don't believe in medicine? Cool, go pray away the flu. Oh you don't think the river will flood? Great, I'll give you an awesome price on the land.

I'm often brought back to the idea that Dan Carlin pushes in his excellent history podcasts: empires end in soft slippers. Persia, Macedonia, Rome - all basically fell when life became so easy that the people get lazy and stupid.

Murica is there. Britain looks to be there. Good time to be on the Chinese side methinks.

There is never a good time to be on the side of a totalitarian regime.

Someone should tell Trump that the Great Wall fell, night watch and all, then thousands of illegals flooded through into the north

I don't advocate violence but for sheer quantifiable stupidity I don't think it's wrong to try and smack some sense into them.

But you can't fight stupid really can you?

It won't go as far as that, but there will be probably more of a protest presence there than there will be actual folks attending the meeting, plus there's been a huge backlash against the business he runs.

As for comments section people, I don't know what to do there. If they're genuine, they have seriously entrenched opinions, massive cognitive dissonance and serious lack of actual contact with outsiders going on.
