When 5 people executed in cold blood and its not even make the headlines...

Prayers and thoughts as ussual, candles and all that... repeat ad infinitum.

Very sad that these things aren't and shouldn't be solved by prayer but real action. Prayers are for something beyond your control , gun isnt
 
The Daily Telegraph has apologised "unreservedly" to Melania Trump and agreed to pay her "substantial damages" for an article it published last week.

The paper said its Saturday Magazine cover story "The Mystery of Melania" contained a number of false statements.

These included claims the US First Lady was struggling in her modelling career before she met her husband and that she cried on election night, it said.

The paper accepted the statements should not have been published.

It said it would also pay Mrs Trump's legal costs.

In an apology printed on Saturday, the paper accepted Mrs Trump was "a successful professional model in her own right before she met her husband and obtained her own modelling work without his assistance".

It said the article also wrongly claimed that Mrs Trump's mother, father and sister relocated to New York in 2005 to live in buildings owned by Donald Trump.

The paper added that Mrs Trump's father was not "a fearsome presence" and "did not control the family", as alleged in the article.

It also accepted that Mrs Trump did not leave her Design and Architecture course at university for reasons relating to the completion of an exam but because she wanted to pursue a successful career as a professional model.

Maybe it's the drugs I'm on but I think the only deal that's going to be cut in the next 21 days is the one where he leaves the White House and avoids prison.

Think it'll depend what happens next and how serious they are. There have been plenty of occasions during his Presidency in which he's pissed off a lot of hardcore conservatives or where they've expressed doubts, but like most of the mainstream Republican Party they've typically fallen in line eventually.

Do wonder if this might have a lasting effect. Even when Trump's betrayed certain policy promises he's managed to retain the appeal of endlessly sticking it to the liberal left, of being able to piss of conservative opponents even if he can't pass his own legislation. If that's now gone, it's hard to see what appeal he actually holds other than not being a Democrat. Which will admittedly still be enough for a lot of his base to still fall in line.
