The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

Watched Cohen's interview on ABC and its amazing how this all feels like a drama written by David Simon (The Wire).
Just does not seem real enough for me.

I'm marking Business English exams at the moment, and one person just used "Best Regrets" at the end of an email. It instantly reminded me of this one.

It reminds me of the type of things my colleagues in China or Singapore send me in emails quite a lot

Not that I’m judging them they speak English a million times better than I speak their language (which is not at all)

It's very odd to notify that one CoS is leaving without having a replacement in place. As usual it looks amateurish but I'm surprised that Kelly would allow that to happen.

Looks like everyone is turning him down. At this rate he may wind up with Kushner.

Irony there considering Chris Christie was the one who agreed a plea deal with Jared’s dad that saw him jailed and disbarred.

The moment he is impeached they should stand down, or at least that's how it's supposed to happen. Who the feck knows how this thing will play out. Most probably he will resign when impeachment is imminent , however you never know with such a distinctly mentally unwell individual.

I think he believed that Pence's COS would replace Kelly but he turned him down.

Maddow:

'Obama's 2009 inauguration was the biggest in history, and raised $43m in donations. Trump's inauguration about about a third as large - yet raised $107m in donations.

No audit explaining how the money was spent has ever been produced. Trump's people claimed an audit had been done and assured everyone everything was above board, but refused to release it. No trace of this so-called audit has ever been uncovered; and the chief treasurer behind it has a criminal record for tax fraud.'

Have they got an audit explaining where all of the money was from?

Why should he care? It's not his shit to clean up.

'I'm pleased TO announce that Bert from Accounts is my new Chief ov Stuff. Fake News said that *copy/paste* "the selection process was not unlike Shirley Jackson's The Lottery" but they am liars!'

NYT said:
If Judge O’Connor’s decision ultimately stands, about 17 million Americans will lose their health insurance, according to the Urban Institute, a left-leaning think tank. That includes millions who gained coverage through the law’s expansion of Medicaid, and millions more who receive subsidized private insurance through the law’s online marketplaces.

Insurers will also no longer have to cover young adults up to age 26 under their parents’ plans; annual and lifetime limits on coverage will again be permitted; and there will be no cap on out-of-pocket costs.

Also gone will be the law’s popular protections for people with pre-existing conditions....
The judges ruling said:
V. CONCLUSION:
For the reasons stated above, the court grants Plaintiffs partial summary judgement and declares the Individual Mandate, 26 USC.§ 500A(a) UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Further, the Court declares the remaining provisions of the ACA, Pub. I. 111-148, are INSEVERABLE and therefore INVALID. The Court GRANTS Plaintiffs' claim for declaratory relief in Court 1 of the Amended Complaint.

Thank Christ for that. Who the hell thinks a civilised society should help the vulnerable in this day and age?
