I really don't agree. There are many here (myself included) that liked Obama but will criticise his many faults. He certainly didn't have the cult style following that Trump has, nor did he whip his crowds in to such a frenzy either. Fake equivalence indeed.
I agree with langster. When I point out the bad things Obama did libs would just say "governing is complicated and you have to make hard decisions". With conservatives they deny those things ever happened.

Part of the economy shtick Trump supporters uses comes from the Obama years where Liberals would defend the awful economy uner Obama(Their still trying to give credit to Obama for it todays awful economy as well) and you still today have to go to the socialist left to hear any criticism of Obama policy on police violence, the huge loss of black wealth, immigration policy and foreign policy. I mean Michael Moore is the only mainstream ''pundit'' who talks about Obama disgusting treatment of the people of Flint.
I thought there was a bit of an Obama cult initially, it's what landed him the Nobel and I remember some people being genuinely convinced that American politics was gonna change. Didn't last long though.

I dont think Obama was a particularly amazing president, but it's a gazillion times easier to understand why people like him. He's eloquent, classy, hip and at the very least exudes on aura of nobility.

Why "Rock Star" is "racist"?
Obama was smart and eloquent, but an ineffective president who did very little to nothing for the majority of voters. The only good thing was Obamacare. Beyond that, he basically helped the Wall Street billionaires, not the 90%. He did great for himself and right after the end of his presidency he went on vacation with Branson.
Disillusionment with Obama and his empty slogans ("yes we can"... we can what?) is one of the main reasons that we got such a terrible president as Trump. Trump is the worst president ever. However, there are reasons why we got here, and Obama (and the Clintons) are parts of the problem.
