Here we go

I know we say this every week but that's one of his worst tweets ever. If he's smart enough to understand what he's really saying here (not great odds on that tbf) then he's already in dictator mode and thinks the law shouldn't apply to him or the people he points his baby carrot fingers at.

This. Scaring way of thinking how a democracy should work.

Michael J. London, a former member of the Trumbull Republican town committee in Connecticut, detailed in an opinion article multiple reasons why he left the Republican Party.

In August, London resigned from the Republican Party and registered as an unaffiliated voter. He described the act as something he “never thought he would do.”

London blamed President Donald Trump for the downfall of the GOP. He claimed that President Trump has transformed the party “into a lame, extreme right-wing group of people unwilling or unable to see the truth.”

“Trump is simply the worst president our country has had — ever. He is encouraging increased pollution and disavowing the need to halt climate change,” London wrote.

“He is taking credit for a strong economy when it was the previous president (like him or not) who set the current strong economy in motion,” he said.” He has separated immigrant mothers and children. He has, more likely than not, supported (or participated in) collusion with an enemy.”

He noted that Trump has embarrassed America on the global stage. “He is almost dictatorial and he has severely hurt our standing in the international community. People around the globe are laughing at us. His patriotism is really egotism,” he said.

He said that overall Trump does not even represent what it means to be a Republican.

“I can’t take it anymore. Trump does not represent true Republican values. He does not represent my values. I am leaving the Republican Party and, for the time being, will remain unaffiliated,” London concluded.

I'm guessing Unions must have thought Trump would be different than the Republicans . But in the end he as gone along with the status quo.Republicans like the Tories over here have disdain for Unions.

I think a large portion of working class people hoped for that and gave him his vote because of it. In their eyes the majority of democratic politicians don't support their views neither and I don't blame them for that. The working class that traditionally had more of a home among the left was abandoned by them once the left turned towards neo liberalism instead of protecting worker rights and populists like Trump exploited that vacuum. Not only in the US but pretty much all over Europe you can witness the same.

It's also imo why there is such a hate for the "liberal elites" these days that can't be bothered with the problems of the working class anymore but instead fight over how many genders there are. It's also the reason why the only one on the left that actually had a chance of winning against Trump was the only one who actually gave a shit about the lives of the working class in America and not only about if there were enough save spaces at universities and the right women quota at tech companies.

I'm not saying that those aren't problems but I can see how to the people who struggle with being able to pay the rent, put food on the table and get their kids through collage because their manufacturing job has moved oversees and they have to work at McDonald's or Walmart for minimum wage now, yeah I can see how you can't reach people like this with topics about gender equality, LGBT rights and discussion about white privilege.

Imo the left needs to get back to it's core values of protecting worker rights, making sure that unions have a strong foundation to work at and they also need to run on these things and if they do that, they also have the means to get their social goals on a solid foundation because they got a majority back.

I think DT has this attitude because he practically was used to running things like a dictator and getting out of any trouble with the people who owed him something or were dependent on him in one way or another. The comparison with a mobster doesn't seem too out of place if you ask me.

Deplorables losing their shit over Nike featuring Colin Kaepernick.
I love it.

Yep - love how they are burning their own shoes and clothing in protest!!

While all the time conveniently ignoring the awkward fact that they are simply exercising their right to protest someone's right to protest....

Are they? Fecking ell. Persona non grata for daring to speak out and protest on policing of minorities in America, among other things.

Great post .Agree with that .For so long way before Trump ,many of the core working class voters have been brushed aside and ignored from both parties. It's about time both Democrats and Labour reengaged with these people and with their core values.

I hear ya, but in both situations they voted against their own interests so....

Trump's beloved Rasmussen poll has him at 45...which means he is probably some where in the mid to high 30s.

Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing

Grassley is so damn old. Also who's the lady sitting on the right behind Kavanaugh? She looks so familiar but don't know from where and it's kind of irritating.

Hahaha, "you also like to eat pasta with ketchup, but nobody's perfect".

What a fitting quote to illustrate the scrutiny republicans put Trump nominees under. Pathetic.

I'm sure there will be plenty of baseball references as well throughout the day.

Obviously he's dangerous as hell, never mind the comedy.

The "look at their license?" part is incredibly scary coming from a sitting president. Honestly, that tweet alone should rightly have been enough to topple Trump.

He's just giving voters more fodder to vote Dem en massse in two months.

This book is going to become a big issue for the WH. Its now being claimed that Gary Cohn stole documents from Trump's desk.
