Correct. Large sections of a ‘wall’ (or, you know, fence) already exists. He secured funding mostly to conduct general repairs and maintenance needed prior to his campaign.

...Keeping his promises!!!.....
His voters don't know this difference so they see him as a man who keeps his promises.

Disappointing if true, I kinda hope the sports team take a consistent defiant stand (or knee), especially considering how athletes tend to be role models for younger people. Maybe that way they start to reverse this bizarre crypto-fascist allegiance to the flag.

If people don't respect the emblems of their country, they have no right to participate in its public ceremonies.

Hijacking public events to declare one's political views smacks of arrogance. 'Racial injustice' is not the only issue in America. What if everybody decided to use such occasions to force their pet grievances on the notice of others? We couldn't go to a play, or visit the cinema or even enter a public park without being harangued: Save the Whale, Keep Atheism out of our Schools, Build more Railways, Build more Roads, Bomb Iran, Make peace with Iran.....

The social contract whereby we keep such declarations for the appropriate occasion would be broken, and with it a necessary restraint which makes social living tolerable.

Dems need to be using this for their campaign ads in the next few months.

Why does he do that with his lips?

Americans can express themselves however they want wherever they want within the confines of the law of course. Thank heavens for the first amendment!

You've got it arse backwards. The laws that the flag and anthem represent are what give citizens the right to decide whether or not they stand/sing etc. Autocracies generally force citizens to subjugate themselves to symbols.

I’ve never seen any of that a single time that I’ve read the Bill of Rights.

Are you sure you’re looking at the right document?
