Sometimes I understand the Trump supporters, his comment on MS-13 gang members being animals was spun totally out of context.

Disclaimer: I don't know who the feck Rubin is, probably a right-wing reporter, but focus on the tweets he has highligted and the actual words Trump spoke, don't mind his probable political stance.

Rubin's a right-winger who pretends he used to be (or is still somewhat) liberal. Also one of the dumbest people on YouTube.

Couldn't care less about who Rubin is or who he is not. Comment on the actual misreporting about what Trump said, what you mean about the messenger is uninteresting.

Yeah the media are generally insane as a whole (from both perspectives). Nothing new. It's not a conspiracy.

I don't know why people like Rubin get props for noticing the obvious.

I don't see Rubin as right wing or even right leaning at all. He's married gay man in West Hollywood with a track record of liberal views. I think the fact that he speaks out about the authoritarian left is somehow tantamount to being right wing. It's obviously not.

And that proves what?

Not wanting to bog down the thread to be fair. I agree that the media are nuts in general.

Its the epicenter of Hollywood liberalism. Its woven into the culture there. Rubin, if you've followed him over the years has always been one.

Neither did I claim a conspiracy. But the topic of 'fake news' is so hot on both sides, so I felt that snippet was relevant.

Straight up twisting a totally legit claim of MS-13 being animals into what they did there is not only selective reporting, it is straight up manipulation. And this is coming from news sources that people who frequently complain about FOX and the likes claim to be truthful.

Looking at the conversation, I can see where the confusion came from. It started as a discussion about Sanctuary Cities then one person brought up having issues with the gang being protected by sanctuary city laws which is bullshit but whatever. Trump then responded with this:
"We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in — and we’re stopping a lot of them — but we’re taking people out of the country. You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals. And we’re taking them out of the country at a level and at a rate that’s never happened before. And because of the weak laws, they come in fast, we get them, we release them, we get them again, we bring them out. It’s crazy.”

Which is nonsense on so many levels and could have been related to any part of the conversation, including sanctuary cities, MS-13 or even just any illegal immigrants in general. Let's be honest, this rhetoric wouldn't be out of character from him if it was directed at any random immigrant so that doesn't help. Frankly, I'm still not sure what he was talking about and him "clarifying" is meaningless considering his history of lying about literally everything.

I watched that segment and could barely tolerate Trump's bizarre insertion of words, as if he needed to acknowledge to himself what this or that meant, or how amazing/tremendous/blah blah. His vocabulary must be limited to maybe 300-400 words and mostly in adjectives. Truly bizarre and annoying and I sensed Britt didn't really care to be there* near the man, perhaps a bit of embarrassment on display.

*Granted, Britt may still be feeling the sting of all the issues he's dealt with both through his own actions and through the services actions. John Chapman better fecking receive the MOH, and should have already received it (same for Jason Cunningham). The Intercept has an interesting piece on Britt's actions in subsequent tours that supposedly led to him being cast out of the SEAL community, and has a mention from a supposed Naval officer that the Army and Navy have interfered in the Air Force's MOH submission for Chapman. Fecking sister services fighting over who gets the spotlight.

Regardless of what has/has not occurred, Britt displayed incredible bearing and humility today.

Trump basically read the citation before the serviceman officially read it, inserting his weak adjective blather to try to create gravitas and make himself come across as stately. It was more embarrassing than anything, another puerile performance that the sheep will lap up and praise.

That Newsweek article regarding the respective services and the infighting over the MOH submission is utterly fascinating.

Which one? Any link? Thanks in advance.

I wonder why the media thought animals referred to immigrants, that's so unlike him...?

Immigrant advocates have long said that the children, primarily from Central America, are fleeing violence in their home countries and seeking safe harbor in the United States. But the Trump administration has used their plight to justify cracking down on policies that allow these migrants to be released and obtain hearings before immigration judges, rather than being deported immediately.

“We have the worst immigration laws of any country, anywhere in the world,” Trump said at the roundtable held at the Morrelly Homeland Security Center. “They exploited the loopholes in our laws to enter the country as unaccompanied alien minors.”

Trump added: “They look so innocent. They’re not innocent.”

oh

If anyone's read Not A Good Day to Die also by Sean Naylor (same author as this article), or The Mission, The Men and Me by Pete Blaber (JSOC recon commander during Op Anaconda), they both portray what a shitshow the whole helicopter insertion onto a mountaintop was, that led to Slabinki's and Chapman's actions. Higher up people should've had their careers cut short as a result.

Ours are so massive and powerful

 who writes that shit?

My daddy is bigger than your daddy

Trump apparently dictated the letter yesterday morning....so the answer would be Trump himself. He sees life as a horse race of winners and losers / mine is bigger than yours etc.

I think for a man with his obvious insecurities, life has always been a never ending dick-measuirng contest

Pretty much. Must be a fairly miserable existence though - never happy because you're constantly having to undermine/dominate people, and even when you do it successfully the insecurities remain.
