Just watched four Trump supporters being interviewed on CNN. They seemed pretty articulate, intelligent normal people. Bottom line is Trump is doing a great job, the Russia investigation is a witch hunt, the FBI is corrupt, the Dems are evil.

Watching it was like an out of body experience. I am obviously in an alternate reality to them. Quite depressing.

I hate having so little respect for someone who has so much power to do so much good, not only in his own country but around the entire world.

It is so depressing seeing not only the corruption and abuse but the disrespect for everyone and everything. The dangers are huge too and it's just so upsetting to think what has happened over the last 18 months/2 years or so.

Another huge disappointment is how spineless and vicious the Republicans are in equal measure. Spineless as in they just point blank refuse to stand up to Trump yet are vicious with their policies.

The supporters are also extremely depressing but they are like cult followers with Trump their leader.

The only up side I can find is that not only is this all exposing the worst members of society so they are easy to spot then avoid, it's also exposing the most corrupt and worst members of Government too. On both sides, but definitely mainly the Republicans and each nasty vicious Tweet Trump sends out or each country or leader he upsets, or abuses he defends, each time he does something like that he just makes more and more people determined to vote him and his pitiful band of Republican scum out of office.

Except he's just slashed taxes and massively increased spending on defense (for reasons passing understanding) at the same time, so all this will do is lead to an enormous increase in debt.

I guess he's used to bankrupting companies and walking away, so why not do it to the country.

Unless you think they’d give it up entirely (which isn’t going to happen) the US nuclear arsenal was in dire need of modernization, and that was under way under Obama already. And the military in general is actually in need of reinforcement due to wastefulness of the massive sums it’s already privileged to.

What you really need to be worried about is not US military spending or its Cold War nuclear backlog, both of which were already exorbitant. It’s tactical nukes, and how that could shape a modern war instigated by despots.

That is beside the point really. It's also nothing new at all. Bush used God so did his dad before him, even Obama used the defence. It's the go to excuse for all religious leaders nd has to be mentioned by US leaders to keep large parts of the electorate happy. Ironically It's usually the religious voters who want war. However, It's no better or worse then the arrogant war to promote the American way or promoting freedom in the world. War is bad and should always be the last resort, but we all know that's no true.

What is worrying is Trump has said multiple times in private about using nukes and has a war memo regarding tactical first strikes against North Korea and Iran.
