A WH release is meaningless, we know with this President that anything coming out in that format isn't from him but from the professional PR people behind the scenes.

Just seen Maher's interview with Fareed on CNN.
Its an interesting interview. Not happy with the Lord firing by CNN and is scathing towards millennials who he says are always looking for the negatives and looking for offence when someone says something they don't agree with.
He was spot on for me on alot of issues.

Maher is spot on about the PC/hard left who go after people for what they say. Good interview.

Bannon picked a very stupid target to try and get rid of. Very likeable character. Given what Scaramucci said it seems pretty clear Bannon's on his way out and everyone's well aware he's the source of the leaks, and even in that context McMaster handles it with dignity and skill.

Milo is a nonsense. He's an absolute nonsensical human being. I've let my ears hear less than 5 minutes of his nonsense in my life. If Maher has endorsed him then that's something I disagree with him on.
I've heard him overstep the mark when discussing Islam before. But his view is centrist is it not? He seems to handle it with a firm hand. He'll throw terrorists in the same pot no matter their religion.
That's my take on him anyway. I can listen to a 30 minute segment and think "Well that's a bit daft" once or twice. But think "Well said" for the most part.
Maher is against all religions. Gives the catholics a lot of flak so not surprised if he has a go at Islam.
He didn't endorse him, just had him on his show and gave him a more favourable interview than many would like. Admittedly it wasn't great, far from it to be honest, but he genuinely disagrees with Milo on nearly everything he stands for and has said so countless times. Bill Is just against Milo being banned from speaking, as he is anyone being banned from speaking. His opinion is they need to be heard so they can be argued with. The more people are banned the more it goes against free speech and the first amendment and puts those ideals at risk. Maher has said many times that these people do more damage from their reputation and being banned from speaking somewhere only enhances that reputation more than if they were allowed to speak and then be challenged and defeated in debate.
There's a lot I disagree with Maher on, but a lot I agree with him about too and I am with him 100% that some on the left are becoming a serious problem. You saw it in the Charlottesville thread people wanting something they disagree with banned and made illegal and not understanding the irony of them acting like that in an anti-fascism thread. You can't have freedom of speech if people want everyone they disagree with silenced. If everyone was silenced you wouldn't know who was a fecking idiot and who to ignore or not.

Me too, on pretty much everything and I agree with most of your post. I think it's the self-righteous attitude of many that is becoming upsetting. I think many on the left are guilty of lacking tolerance and understanding, the same as many religious folk that they so often like to lecture about tolerance
