The Trump Presidency | Biden Inaugurated

I'm sure other countries are banking on things like this.

ERMMMMMMM! Like this one?

Feck, here we go. I'm actually quite scared as to where this is all leading. Trump is desperate for approval and he may see war as a way to get that. He's so unpredictable, can anyone actually say what he will do?

Doesn't pretty much every study show that moving to a single-payer system would be cheaper than the current healthcare is? That USA is currently paying like twice as much per capita than countries like France and the UK.

I'll never understand the selfishness that exists in the US. I even have family on my father's side that moved there from Denmark early 80s or late 70s, who now vote republican - hated Obama and supports Trump. To the point where their own children can't discuss politics with them (I see in this very thread this is not a rare thing). The incredible mistrust there is among the population, that drives people to not want anyone to get anything "for free", even if it would be the cheapest option overall (i.e. single-payer healthcare). Even the complete lack of logic in many parts, such as "You can't get an abortion because that is immoral, but when you actually do get the child you're on your own, because feck you, and your child, for being poor". The long-term planning in the country seems completely absent, because so many are so focused on not giving anyone anything - the argument is that you have to earn it yourself, but that completely ignores the fact that if you're born into a poor family you're pretty much fecked from the start, unless you're lucky enough to secure scholarships and whatnot. It's all so puzzling to me, how so many Americans can look at their current state and go "This is fantastic, we're number 1!", but thankfully there does seem to be a mentally-switch among younger Americans, who look at many of the good things European countries have and wonder why the US is lagging so far behind.

It's not just Europe.

It's literally every English speaking country on the planet, in addition to Europe, and many Asian countries.

Its a surreal experience watching this scab sitting in the chair once occupied by giants.

I hope this disaster of a presidency will put an end to this idol worship of celebrities in politics and encouraging them to run for president.

The last thing we'll need after this shambles is Dwayne Johnson and Zuckerberg running in 2020.

Republicans must be glad Kim Jong has launched another missile. This will now be the big media story of the day.

We need people who have actually served the country/community/people in some way. Let their track record speak for them. The last thing we need is business people who have bought their way into the parties.

So no more Republicans? I like it.

It galls me. Really. Susan and Lisa deserve more "sun" than McCain does.

To be fair, it's not like they are angels too, pretty much voted along party lines as well. McCain is no superhuman, but his was the vote that brought down the bill, with Collins and Murkowski in the no camp from the get go. All three did a good job on this bill, but it's easy to see why McCain gets more plaudits, this may very well be his final contribution in the Senate. Good bye McCain.

I'd say a critical factor is that they all must have political experience.

Have you read that the pentagon was in disarray for 9 minutes after the first part of his transgender tweet because no one knew of any meeting with top officials or any details of such talks and they feared he had ordered strikes on North Korea?

Yeah, I saw that, and like you just had to laugh, even though it's clearly not funny. All this shit is just insane.

The ICBM NK just fired landed 88, yup just EIGHTY EIGHT miles off the coast of Japan. That is way too close for comfort and Japan are rightly furious over this. This incident is not going away. Kim needs slapping down and I am absolutely certain he feels empowered enough to do shit like this simply because of the chaos in the White House. If the USA had a competent leader then I am sure NK wouldn't be escalating things the way they are.

A speech meant to praise law enforcement officers ends up being about himself.

It was only ever going to end up like that. He's disgusting but his speeches are entirely predictable. You can tell only a small percentage are with him too, so many forced smiles and uncomfortable applause in the crowd.

He reaches a new low everyday. And here is me thinking he'd wise up after actually becoming a president and all his theatrical election bullshit are just that.

How wrong am i, he is a buffoon. How the hell people choose him over hillary...

Why are cops cheering him saying this?? Aah the old rough 'em up a bit routine....

More presidential than anyone other than the late great Abe Lincoln

Jesus wept, 88 miles is fecking nothing
