RE the CNN thing...

Would people be upset if it was FOX news who found some muslim guy who had been posting memes about gays/women/westeners and violence towards them i dont think people would be up in arms. In fact i think they'd be pretty pissed off if FOX news didnt name and shame

It's beautiful in some way though. It's basically the Trumpsters admitting what the founding fathers warned against is applicable to their Messiah. Sadly they're too thick to realise this.

Hell of a way to think of it. Another way to put it, to borrow a few phrases, is that they're so snowflakey they got triggered by the declaration of independence.

It's not lies being spread by the 'alt-right'. Read CNN's statement again:

That closing sentence is as chilling a line as you're likely to read on the internet. "Behave in a manner that we deem appropriate or suffer the consequences."

News corporations now (or 'mainstream media', if you will) are Orwellian police entities, more focused on censorship and shaping narratives to suit their agendas, and not reporters of news, it seems.

You're missing the point. CNN didn't have an issue with the gif.

But when the gif is posted by the president it becomes public property. If the president is behaving 'Modern Day Presidential' and sharing content it should be open season on the content generators.

If I spent all day using racial slurs against all races and made demeaning points against women, then threw out some comments about disabled people, I'm an ass. Out of sync with base humanity.

If I then invent lossless energy production that makes energy free forever for everyone, the world will endorse my science. They don't have to accept my racism and bigoted views though. I won't get an audience with the pope and world leaders. I don't get heralded as the face of the free world. There's subtlety and nuance to everything.

If the president reacts to a news company reporting without adequate sources, by posting a gif without investigating the source... does he not deserve both barrels?

Hmmm... I'm skeptical. There's much more transparent ways of wording those intentions rather than how they actually closed the statement. Seems to me that they're reacting to the widespread, and just, negative reaction they're receiving among internet users from all ends of the spectrum.

The internet is supposed to be a bastion of freedom and anonymity, if the user so wishes. What CNN are doing, ultimately, is attempting to coerce users into behaviour they deem appropriate. That is censorship in any definition of the word.
Bullshit, CNN have the right and the responsibility to protect their employees, who are now receiving death threats due to an irresponsible president posting a gif made by what seems to be an actual asshole that incites violence towards anyone affiliated with the network.
The hatred towards the network is due to some great work and responsible journalism that calls out trump on his erratic actions. They asked for the resignation of three people due to them not having their ducks in a row on the Scaramucci story even though they could easily of let it fade away. Now they were responsible yet the president never even gave a full apology for any of his bullshit, even the admission of sexual assault was a half hearted excuse that basically implicated all men in that disgusting behavior and attitude towards women.
If you really want to see censorship go to fox noise, they have tried their hardest to censor anything that shines a negative light on the trump family were CNN are known to regurgitate everything they see on to the network, example being the Boston marathon bombing. In absolutely no way is this anything like censorship pal. Networks show video of police shootings so as to inform the public, horrific viewing but you notice that they won't show a video of a journalist being beheaded. Would you call that censorship or responsible journalism?

Got to be ultra careful with this stuff moving forward.
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, I've seen enough of trump to call him an asshole no matter what he does. This is the kind of thing that gets under his skin and the more the better, his retaliation will be his downfall. When conservative media runs to death a video of Obama bowing to the Japanese, as is the custom, calling him weak then people on the other side are entitled to take the piss over this idiot. At least 1000 of the pages in this thread are taking the muck out of trump and his ring sniffers. It may be petty but we all agree we are dealing with a cnut that doesn't operate like a normal member of our species. Toxoplasmosis from drinking hooker piss is my guess.

Page 1048 of this thread, and he's still POTUS. You don't get it do you. The more shit thrown at Trump the less sticks.

This is true. A bit of the "the bit dog barks loudest" going on there innit

So Trump is visiting Poland prior to his trip to the G20 in Hamburg - probably the place in Europe where he gets the least protest - whereas the Chinese prime minister visits Angela Merkel - somehow telling...

But if it is easily refuted like this video then he'll just use it against the media. Only go after him on verified issues, there are PLENTY!

The time is quickly passing when anything will really stick. By design more than happy accident, this is Trump's unbreakable negotiation strategy, and this thread is just begining to realise it.
I think CNN are losing more staff than the Whitehouse.

I think y'all are past the point of worrying about how his support will see certain things.... They are hopeless and will see it whatever way he tells them to.

We are being bombarded with utter nonsense from across the political spectrum. So many bald-faced lies, it's hard to know what to believe any more. Does anyone here actually have a source that they trust to give them the facts and not to have a political agenda? I used to feel that way about the BBC but that was a long time ago, probably before Blair!

So you agree with Trump.

If, for example, CNN investigated the leak of debate questions to the Clinton camp from Donna Brazile during the Democratic Primary - a scandal which set the tone for their bias during Election season - with the same zest they displayed when hounding this private citizen over a harmless meme, then maybe more would believe their "impartiality" claims.

Fox is not impartial, but they still advertise as 'Fair and balanced'. Not sure you want CNN to do here.

Sometimes I agree with him, not on everything. On CNN, the fact they gave Hillary the questions before one of the televised debates tells you that they are not on the level.

Is that a fact though?

It seems the beginning of this story was based on the sighting by some journalists of a supposed "NBC intern" delivering a package to a campaign office, but I sort of wonder how many journalists actually know who the various interns that work at various news agencies are? (specifically it was a FOX reporter who supposedly recognized the NBC intern, seems weird that a FOX reporter would be so familiar with an intern at NBC). I bet most barely know the interns working at their news agency.

Brazile has even admitted to the leaking of debate questions prior to the Democratic Primary:

As for using Snopes as a truth-proving entity, that's highly questionable. There's been examples online of them dismissing/claiming various stories in order to paint the Trump presidency in poor light, e.g. http://www.snopes.com/carson-hud-accounting-errors/

"$500bn was discovered but it was discovered before Carson was in his role, so the story is false."

What in God's name is that about? Nobody cares if Carson was in his post or not when the audit discovered the accounting errors. That's not the story here, yet people see the "Mostly False" banner and just lazily accept Snopes' version of events.

Huh?

The questions were with Podesta on his email. This wasn't a sighting or intern, this was Donna Brazile mailing the Clinton campaign the questions.

I believe Donna Brazile has admitted to passing questions to the Clinton campaign.

It's amazing how many liberals watched the derailment of Sanders' bid - a bid with serious, serious momentum from liberals young and old, and from all walks of life - through the united actions of the Clinton camp, her political associates and their links within the powerful mainstream media, and still went out to bat with and for her, and in fact still do!

How can Brazile's admission of guilt still, almost four months later, remain under the radar and not-very-well common knowledge?

4Chan users appear to have strong evidence that the private citizen CNN doxxed wasn't even the person responsible for first creating the now-infamous wrestling meme.

Boy, oh boy, CNN have opened up a huge can of worms with this one...
