They meddled when Obama was President, that's the only important thing here. The actual consequences of it or who were involved is obviously irrelevant.

He doesn't even understand (or is just counting on his supporters not to) that it would have been impossible for Obama to have intervened with the situation without causing a major constitutional crisis. Imagine the GOP reaction if he set about interfering with the election in any way shape or form because he suspected the Russians were up to something.

All he could do was leave it happen and set the wheels in motion on an investigation to find out exactly what went on.

Ha! It's just hilarious, isn't it? Hilarious yet tragic, as usual.

Totally ignoring one of the main points of this new info too, that Obama sought a bipartisan action which was shot down by Mitch McConnell.

I really hope to see the day something obscenely violent happens to that baggy throat of his.

Trump supporters have always been the ones who have thought that it was the USA v the rest of the world. Well now they have their wish, because it pretty much is, although maybe not quite how they think. Instead of being feared, it's more like, erm... mocked.

Whoever comes in next is going to have some fecking repair job on their hands.

Schwarzenegger doesn't like Trump, is he?

I think they despise each other. Not just politically either. You have the strange scenario where Trump actually enjoyed his programme failing. He is still an executive producer on The Apprentice so you would think he would want it to succeed to earn him more money. But no! His ego is so big that he cant abide anyone succeeding in his former role.

His mind must be at constant odds with itself. It must be a permanent battleground. It's depressing how sad it all is and how simple he is.

I think I may take a break from Twitter and this thread/subject for a while. The nastiness and how vicious it al is is getting extremely depressing and last night was pretty much the final straw. The Trump supporters that were blaming Obama and saying he was more interested in playing golf than helping the country, well I'm lost for words on that one, as am I to those saying the USA is now a socialist country, especially as one of them was a Russian migrant to the USA.

With people like this around I just lose all hope.

He is like a dictator: the more he fails, the more he becomes arrogant and nasty.

Medical bills and what insurance means -

I just cant wrap my head around the medical cost in the US. I had a relative who had to undergone multiple surgeries following a traffic accident about 7-8 years back. It ended up costing about ~ 6k USD. Granted, the annual income is much lower there but 10 times the cost? It's not like the machinery involved are that much different.

This is a major reason why insurance costs so much. Room and board runs at $1500 a day! The lab tests there are $23k. Most of the tests they are running likely cost tens of dollars in reagents. Too many people involved making money. I once got a bill for a test I actually run in my lab. Costs us about a dollar. They charged close to 1k. I called and asked them about it for a laugh. There's no defending it.

Compare the costs on Medicare...private insurance and heaven forbid those without :(

6k doesn't sound that much. I'd have thought it'd have been $100k or so. Still, not many have $6k spare.

Someone on here worked out my brain surgery and subsequent hospital stay and medication since etc would have cost roughly £500,000. I will say it again, as I have ad nauseam but without the NHS I would be dead and my family probably bankrupt, all because of one moment that could happen to anyone at any time. It's insanity.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

You can crap on americans, the russians, obama, hillary, martians, but you dont feck with healthcare in america.

If this bill passes there could be catastrophical backlash.

Ummm no. That might be the case in the UK with the NHS.

In this country - people have a really weird acceptance of the system. Universal care...socialized medicine...EVIL!

That's why something that was merely step 1 such as the ACA got the reaction it did. There are millions who will literally feck themselves over because of stupid dogmatic beliefs.

A lot of it boils down to who is negotiating the price for these things.

The pull an insurance company has in a negotiation vs. the pull a government has (in applicable systems) leads to differences in cost. Add to that the cost of things like malpractice insurance.

It's pretty mixed, just the money happens to be on one side of the divide.
