Don't want to tempt fate but during the time that Pep was at Barca and Poch at Espanyol nobody took more points from Pep than Poch, and with obviously massively different quality at their disposal.
Yeah, I remember hearing that and I'm not surprised. If I remember correctly, Poch impressed Guardiola a lot which doesn't surprise me as I think, for the most part, they have the same type of belief of how the game should be played.

I think we will do well against them but I wouldnt be surprised if we still lost pretty convincingly - City are playing incredibly well right now and will be very difficult to stop.

Spurs should set up similarly to how we should of set up against City.

Dembele, Wanyama and Dier, try and bully them physically.

I think that is exactly what we will try to do - the one thing we have going for us now is that we are very hard to score against and we will have to be at our very best to stop City.

How's Son's overall games been? I've seen his goals and assists, but watching the first half against Middlesbrough, his dribbling seemed to be a bit off.

@GlastonSpur?

He is quick, direct, is genuinely two footed and has a superb shot - his set-pieces (corners mostly) seem to be of great quality also. Those are the positives - on the other side of the coin he does appear to lack ball control at times and loses possession as a result - he also can run into blind alleys. Having said that, he is in fantastic form and as he is so direct and that he is capable of powerful, accurate shots from distance he is a valuable asset to the team right now.

I watch him a lot for Korea, but even for the NT it's his finishing and ability to create space that really excels. His ability on the ball actually seems quite average if I'm being brutally honest.

I'd probably agree with that, though his effectiveness at making space and his fantastic finishing are of sufficient standard to make him a very effective player for us.

Definitely. As long as the other players can keep creating chances, Son will be an important part of the team this season.

Son is reknown for being a pacey finisher. His overall game isn't that impressive but if he puts the ball in the net for you, who cares right?

You looked very comfortable. Cska Moscow were hopeless. Bit embarrassing we struggled so much against them last year.

They were absolutely terrible, we actually seemed to struggle with how bad they were.

Another clean sheet as well. I'm looking forward to seeing how you do against City on Sunday.

Win, lose or draw we'll know a lot more about where we are.

We need to bring our top level, if we do this will be a proper game.

Lamela has played some brilliant stuff for Spurs this season.

2 goals and 6 assists already.

He's a good presser off the ball though.

So while he's a bit Chadli-esque with his abilities he's actually a tactical fit whereas Chadli was not.

Nkoudou looks promising as well. Keeps getting these short 20 minute cameos, but he's looked good with them.

Cameron Carter-Vickers - a great young CB prospect now elevated to the senior squad - become the latest Spurs player to sign a new contract: https://twitter.com/SpursOfficial

The new contracts keep on rolling ...

Think of Cristiano Ronaldo, but a much lesser version.

Doesn't make great decisions, isn't a good passer and loses possession quite a bit/not great dribbler.

However, has very good pace, power in his shots, shooting technique and can shoot from many different angles. After coming to the Spurs, his workrate like Lamela has increased a lot though (very unlike Cristiano)

His corner/set piece delivery were pretty good too when lamela/Ericksen weren't playing.

All tickets made available to Spurs for the Leverkuesen game gone in one day, 80,000 of them.

Now waiting to see what can be taken from Leverkuesen if any and club Wembley.

Dier back in the squad for City.

Waiting for news on Dembele, Rose & Sissoko.

No Kane obviously.

I think it will be a spurs win or draw. Think city might struggle a bit against a poch team. Big fan of Son, proper two footed players give you so many options in and around the box to make space for the shot. Defenders nightmare!

Me too, remember having a few alternations on here where others were calling him a pointless player. His movement is also particularly good, he's really hard to pin down.

Yeah, he super effective. Didn't realise he was the corner taker as well, even more in his locker! He won't be your superstar player, but he will be a top top player in a great team

He's had a good start to this season, in fact it's only 4 or 5 games after a pretty ineffective first season. I'm not getting carried away after a good month, he needs to deliver consistently over a more sustained period.

Mark Waller of the NFL hinting at a London based NFL franchise in 4-5 years time with Spurs very much in pole position to be the host.

If Levy does pull this off it is going to have a serious impact on our ability to compete financially.

I think Spurs might well turn out to be City's closest challengers for the Title this season.

And not just from Prem football and the NFL ...

Donna-Maria Cullen, executive director of Spurs, says: “It will be more than a world-class football stadium – we want this to be the most compelling and unique entertainment and leisure destination anywhere, which can help bring tourism and activity to Tottenham 365 days of the year.”

We're about to see a new benchmark when it comes to UK stadiums :)

PS. I see from the article that Mark Waller is a Spurs fan: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/oct/01/tottenham-hotspur-nfl-stadium-mutual-benefits ... I didn't know that.

His work rate was always good.

Players from Leverkusen typically make for a good match in Poch's system as Roger Schmidt's pressing system is even crazier.

Their squad depth is doing well for them so far. Janssen, Wanyama, Sissoko, N'Koudou and add to that a fully fit and re-inspired Son.

If Spurs overachieve once again this season Pochettino will be snapped up by a big club sooner rather than later.
