Just a bit of banter. They're acting as if they've won the treble.

Seems it's working.

We`re all aware we haven`t won shit.
Not that I think it will ever happen, but if Old Trafford was ever to be demolished, I`m sure the last game would be pretty special to you guys as well.
Strange day for me atleast.

The celebrations were nothing to do with beating United lol.

So why, then, were a large contingent of Spurs fans and players alike in tears come the final whistle? They were inconsolable upon discovering the "we beat United" trophy was not actually a thing. The realisation of ending the season trophyless probably also played a part.

Imagine being Dele Alli when he realising that he earns less than Jesse Lingard and has won less than him.

I'm not sure I'd be emotional. Demolishing an old stadium if anything is looking forward. Memories are not erased by moving to a new stadium.

I'm saying this as someone who's been going to old Trafford for more than 40 years.

Serious?

I get that having lost hurt, personally I avoid all things football for a couple of days. Tip: if you want to provoke you need to write something closer to reality.

Is it really so inconceivable to think that the Spurs players were quite peeved after ending the season trophyless again? After such a hard fought season on their part, you could be excused for thinking that perhaps a reward for their efforts would be due.

Especially since the likes of Kane, Alli, Walker etc could earn practically twice what they are on now if they move to, say, Man United. With just as high a chance of winning a trophy.

It was the last game at White Hart Lane? How is this so hard to fathom, it's not like we haven't beaten you in recent seasons?

Things are looking up for them, why would they be so peeved? they have a chance of getting 86 points this season, a total that would normally win a team the title, if they improve on that like they've done in recent seasons they'd win it. The clear signs of progress are there so everyone is pretty much positive.

Right, so if history is anything to go by, Spurs to be deducted 12 points for fielding an ineligble player ending up 5th just behind Arsenal. Otherwise, the world doesn't make sense to me anymore. :wenger:

The way they setup and work as a team is great, I hate to say but we are a million miles behind Spurs at the moment. The 2-1 score line flatters us we were made to look awful today.

Next season will be a strange one though, no real home games and possibly losing 1-2 players (Walker to City at least seems to be on) while having to juggle a transfer budget and stadium build.

Footballers do have an expiry date, contrary to popular belief, they can't or won't play for a team that promises success and does not deliver for the entirety of their careers. Not when they could be earning twice their current wage playing for a more prestigious club. A club that doesn't promise success, but rather demands it. A club with history, a club with a fanbase that dwarfs the globe.

Why settle for a small club like Spurs when your talents require something bigger?

Martial looks decent. I'd take him on Spurs.

Not sure about any of the others though.

Why the resentment towards Spurs? It was their last game in that stadium, obviously they were going to win today.

These players are young and far from this supposed expiry date. I'm pretty sure if the club doesnt progress in the next couple of seasons there will be an exodus, but its far to soon now. I mean, they finish above those historical clubs easily nowadays.

What... are you slow to understand stuff or something.

They will have more than enough to buy the likes of Martial from the Kane and Alli windfalls in next 2 seasons.
We could just swap you for Sissoko.

He's Europa League level so it could help.

Could Spurs double his wages, though? Banter aside, that is actually the point here. They won't live on prayer forever.
Levy is currently scouting the globe for someone who has gained a serious amount of wealth by stealing blood money from his own country.

We've heard it can help with this issue.

Really? Neither spurs nor sissoko looked EL level this season.

But OK if you say so. Hey, in that case you should keep him for your upcoming EL games in Feb-2018 anyway. :D

I'm intrigued, have to admit. Can't help but wonder to whom you are referring.
