So almost out until the end of the season?

I wouldn't think so.

Spurs website: "The injury is similar to the one suffered by the forward against Sunderland in September last year, however it is not considered to be as severe."

Ah ok, cheers for the good response mate.

Personally, though I want Utd to finish above Spurs, I'd rather do it with Kane fit and playing. I don't like seeing a young in-form player hobble off injured (even with Liverpool and City).

Even though I know they get paid the Earth and are pampered beyond sense - I can't help feel but sad for them, reminds me of when I was younger and would injure myself and be out for a month or two (different sport than football), and you just feel so shit in that moment.

So even though I'm a firm believer in Spurs bottling it (as my posts in here will show), if their season capitulates without Kane, that to me wouldn't be them bottling it, and it'd be a shame (though I'd gladly replace them in the Top 4).

One point though, about Pochettino, is that Janssen is his man - brought in for 20m - if he doesn't play him now, you have to wonder what Levy will make of that when it comes time to sign future deals .

Making larger signings and then managing them is the one area of Pochettino's managerial ability that hasn't really been tested yet at this level, and if he's not gonna play Janssen, added to the flop of Sissoko, there's 50m spent that isn't being used. It's these type of things that can make a difference at the highest level.

Yeah I don't really like seeing injuries, especially ones like that that were just bad luck.

I've been a fan of Spurs long enough to never take anything for granted. We're a different team to even then but I remember being shit scared in the 5-1 victory over Arsenal when Adebayor made it 4-1 at 70 minutes.

Yeah he's not stepped up to the plate unfortunately but he's still young and I'm willing to give him a bit more time. I don't think Poch thought he'd have to use him so early on so it was a bit of a shame.

Sissoko is still inexplicable in my mind really. Even if he was free. I just....don't understand.

Anyway, I did a bit of research.

Admittedly, a small sample size (5 games in the league) but our PPG without Kane was 1.8 ppg. It is 2.14 ppg with him (equivalent over a season to 68 points vs 81).

However, we weren't firing very well early on and the five games either side of his absence yielded 2.2 and 1.4 ppg (admittedly this run included trips to the Emirates, Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge). So overall......1.8.

If we go 1.8 for the rest of the season, we finish on 76 points. Obviously football doesn't really work like that though.

Basically, after all that.....what I'm saying is that I hope he comes back asap. :D

Now it is time to show they can score goals without him. 3:1 to Spurs.

In the past they'd have dropped points in a game like that. Such a positive attacking side, and they're not as flaky as they have been previously.

We almost certainly would have, the second half was what I would call a very good poor performance. After they scored although we didn't play well ourselves we restricted them to nothing.

Brent Council tonight gave Spurs permission to play 27 games at Wembley next season with a 90,000 capacity.

Further games if required can be played there, possibly with a reduced capacity.

Good news for them but I doubt they will come anywhere near selling it out every game. Maybe 60-70k absolute max.

If they can't exploit that extra capacity for a season you need to wonder about the people in charge.

It's a huge opportunity to increase the fan base.

They could offer a one time season ticket offer for 30,000 seats, sold in pairs for peanuts. Or buy two child season tickets and get an adult free. Buy one child ticket, get 50% off an adult ticket.

They shouldn't have any constraints on cost as it's all effectively free seats for a year. I appreciate the extra policing etc but if they look at building a bigger match-going fanbase they could take a huge section of seats and aim to just break even.

Anyone that attends two of the three games against the newly promoted sides in certain sections gets a free ticket for the Arsenal match in the same section.

Masses and masses of opportunity. Will be interesting to see if they work things out or just close sections.

I don't think it's a romantic idea that they should aim to have more than 80,000 at every match.

I think if we put out a number of tickets to affordable prices it should be very doable to fill Wembley. Especially if we have a good campaign.

Quite a few fans are on the waiting list, and it's in London (big advantage since we can attract people who just want to watch premier league as a spectacle).

True, however plenty will also be put-off by the fact that it's an arse to get to, even worse to get away from and in general just a poor football stadium.

Yeah true. I'm kinda worried about next season with our 38 away games. :(

When is Lamela back? I have completely forgotten about him.

Who? :(

Before this season I thought he would be our player of the season, so only mentioning him makes me a little sad.

I really don't know what's going on with at the moment, maybe someone else know this better than be, but this situation sound a little strange to me. Officially he has had some strange hip injury, and also family issues to deal with, but I don't hear any timeline for when he may be available. Might be something going on behind the scenes, but I have no idea. Nothing would make me happier than to have him back, I feel opposition fans in general underrate him a little, and he would be a big boost to us.

To add to this, he has been away in Argentina and Roma for treatment and family business etc., not sure why he had to leave the club to go to Roma, add to this his contract situation (one of the only players we haven't given a proper contract extension). He could leave in the summer, depending on how Poch feel about his role or Lamela feel about his value after a year layoff.

I think he hasn't played since october, right?

Yeah, at about the same prices as say Utd sell their seats at.
70 pounds for taking all 3 group games .....it was a good deal and they will most probably do similar packages during their season at Wembley...as will Chelsea if they go there.
Virtually guarantees filling the stadium up as did dropping some tickets down to a fiver for the Europa league.
Nothibg wrong with that...gets potential newer and younger support through the turnstiles

The 3 game packages weren't mainly £70, they ranged between £70 - £150, individually priced tickets were more expensive and all the hospitality sold out as well.

It won't be the cost that stops people going, it's the bloody nightmare that is getting in and out of Wembley.

just going on what a lot my Spurs supporting mates who went to all of those matches were saying...including the Europa for 5 pounds to make sure it was a sell out.

They were where most of the normal season ticket holders at the West End in the lower tiers and paid 80 pounds.
It was only the Club Wembly seats that were 150. The rest of the ground bar a couple of sections by halfway line were 85 pounds and under...... still great value and one of the main reasons why they filled most of Wembley. And they will do again if they keep to sensible pricing regardless of transport getting in and out of Wembley

Yet more points thanks to the ref.

Like clockwork.

:wenger:
We haven't quite mastered the late offside goal yet, but when we do I'm optimistic about the heights we could reach.

Or better yet get good at the Arsenal patented offside handball in the last minute to make sure we never have those pesky draws any longer.

"Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur have revealed record revenues for the financial year up to 30 June last year coming off the back of their best finish ever in the Premier League.

The North London club, which is currently in the process of constructing their new 61,000 seater stadium, saw revenues jump to £209.8m last season, up by 7% from the £196.4m it brought in during 2015.

Both an increase in UEFA Europa League prize money and gate receipts, which stood at £18.7m, and a jump in TV and media revenues, which were up to £94.8m, fuelled the club’s surge to record revenues, with pretax profit also up to £33m from £9.4m the previous year."

So, financing a new stadium complex and improving the team, all whilst continuing to make a profit .... good stuff.

Peoples take on this is interesting. I wonder if Levy is considering avoiding Wembley altogether, by completing the stadium with the exception of the North Stand and then try to build that over a 4 - 5 month sumner period with assistance from the PL over fixtures.

I hope we do all we can to avoid playing a season at that crap hole up the road.

Pochettino just shot down any and all speculation that he could take the Barcelona job.

What assistance? No chance PL will reschedule games accordingly.

I don't think there's any possible way to avoid not leaving WHL for a season. It's a very large building operation and even with half already built it would still take much more than 4 - 5 months to complete.

I actually couldn't believe only one season away was all that was needed.
