Well that's just screwed me right over. Can't believe Xabi Alonso has gone so quickly! Modric and Iniesta were also in the team I was planning. This pool is going to get very hard very quickly!

I have the pick of @NoPace

@Raees @anant I can take your pick by the same way if you expect to be busy in the next hours.

@Raees @anant

Gerrard & Mascherano are going to replace which players?

Haven't been following this from close quarters, so maybe someone could clue me in - mostly in terms of what is to be considered before I cast a vote in the matchday thread:

Is the 'remake' pertaining to the precise (as much as possible given the limited pool) skillset replication of specific players, and making them fit into the system? Or is it more about trying to recreate certain segments of the team in terms of their collective effectiveness (say the defensive line, or a forward 3 as a whole - rather than individually - so less detail intrusive), and making them fit into the overall puzzle?

Cheers!

My reading is its kind of both. Having both similar players which also will blend cohesively into a replica style of play. As to how to weight individual similarity, cohesiveness and also player quality is down to voter discretion. I'd put most weight on the first two and the least on the latter.

Important question.

Alright. Thanks man! :)

Alright. Thanks man! :)
Most important is the playing style and fitting the modern players in that set up. It has to be underlined in match threads so that's it's pretty clear otherwise it voids the theme of the draft.

The easiest way to explain it is fitting the best possible players in the team which you are supposed to recreate but those players have to be similar to the persnonel and the overall team ideology that you are trying to recreate.

No pace shows up and takes Diego godin, are you fecking kidding me

@P-Nut0712 @mazhar13

I was surprised about your Schweini pick tbh! Half backs are ridiculously hard to fill and thought you might go for Lahm. Alaba will fit in nicely too. Good pick.

Schweini fills the Smistik role to a tee. It is eerie how their player profiles match up.

Pogba can take his place in my side.

How many players are on your ever-depleting shortlist here?

Surely both. The draft overlords have been very clear about the replication point.

Give me some time guys to see what options I have because I want to fill 2 priority positions and that fecker @Gio took my best option for Meazza

Alright.

Not the most flashy name, but probably the most important role in my team - the Monti role.

No better option than the man himself:

@Šjor Bepo

Really tough draft this but I am enjoying it so far. I'd say its harder than most drafts as you can't adjust your plans when a player gets taken and have to look for another to fulfil the same role with attributes that don't quite match.
