The Redcafe Top 100 movies

Good list, mehro. Although I agree with the rest about The Lion King. It's one of my favourite Disney films, but I wouldn't have it in the top 100. In fact, there's at least a couple of other Ghibli films other than Spirited Away that should be in that list ahead of the Lion King.
I'm surprised to see Sunset Boulevard isn't on your list! Have you seen Solyaris?

I didn't enjoy Sunset Boulevard. Maybe I wasn't in the mood. Haven't seen Solyaris.

I have 70 movies down now. I can add more but I want to see loads more before that. Yet to see likes of On the waterfront, deer hunter, Once upon a time in west, Butch Cassidy and some more.

I have 80 now. Don't think I will be able to make the 31st deadline. Don't want to included cack movies.

I'm in the hands of the mods here Spoons...I'm ready to put mine up, but if there is an extension it would suit me and my unwilling band of student auditors!

Official ruling?

Can probably justify every one!!!!

Tried to include all major genres and most major directors, with some choices given over to 'important' films that might not necessarily make my personal top 100.

i thought about Scream, i mean there is an argument that at the time it reinvented a genre (admittedly its been done to death now)

btw you might want to clarify which Star Wars movie

I still think that Shawshank's Redemption should be included, even for it's reputation alone. I'm also suprised that none of the Bourne trilogy have been included, (I myself would have Ultimatum).

Also Spooney in regards to Snatch, I think if you are going to include movies like The Big Lebowski and Life of Brian, you also have grounds to include movies such as Snatch and Rounders.

Well I put Scream in for that same reason Geebs...without it the horror genre would have died a slow and painful death (hurrah, some might say!!!).

Star Wars Episode 4...New Hope...but to old farts like me, its still 'Star Wars'...all this 'episode' bollocks...can't be doing with it! ;)

Mods don't have any control over this. This is my baby. And I've decided to extend it.

5th January is the official deadline.

Nope, becasue they were both very average.

Rounders indeed. May as well stick Anchorman in there too.

In that case Ringu has to be in there and all. It influenced a whole genre.

Not my final list, just putting a rough list down. Loads more movies to see yet, hopefully I'll have it done by next week. Obviously, they'll be ordered. I'll rewatch Pulp Fiction and a couple of films by the Coen Brothers.
