I am tempted to order Khan/Judah, too. That should be a quality fight.

Anyone up for Fury/Chisora? Channel 5 on Saturday night.

Hard to come up with fighters more unpleasant than these two. Fury is a fat, obnoxious bastard who clearly lost to McDermott in their first fight, and Chisora is the Nicklas Bendtner of boxing. Both talk like they are lineal champions.

Double KO, hopefully. Realistically, Chisora should win, he has been operating at a higher level than Fury. I suppose Fury could have improved dramatically under Steward, but I doubt it.

When I have watched Fury , he looks like he does not know what he is doing , just stands there and throws punches , no technique.
The clip on utube of him punching himself is classic.
I used to work across the road from where he lived and saw him a few time and your fat, obnoxious bastard comment is spot on.

I can't believe I'd never seen that before!

Anyone know when the Khan fight is expected to start?

Nah I have Virgin and it's on that Primetime chanel I think :(

I like Fury, always comes comes across well whenever I've seen him interviewed. He talks a good game but a lot of it's clearly tongue-in-cheek. Chisora, on the other hand, is just a bit of a prick.

I don't particularly rate either as fighters but Chisora has fought better opposition and looks more polished, so I fancy him to win. Fury has potential though, he's got pretty decent handspeed and puts his punches together quite well but he really fecking needs to learn how to use his size advantage, fight tall and work behind the jab. In fact, pretty much all his fundamentals need plenty of work. Shame that link up with Manny Steward was only a temporary arrangement cos he's the perfect trainer for Fury on paper.

And don't even get me started on the guy's conditioning! He weighs about 18 stone and appears to have no muscle definition whatsoever... what the feck is he doing in his training camps? No wonder he's always absolutely knackered after 4 rounds.

I know, right? He says it is his ideal weight. I guess the spare tyre evades him.

Changing trainers like the ones you wear, Fury has flitted from gym to gym in the hope of finding someone who could mould his potential into the finished article. Stints with Brian Hughes and Pat Barrett, and then his uncle Huey amongst others, proved to not be the piece in the puzzle he had been looking for.

Then last year Fury packed a bag and decided to go to America in search of the famous Kronk gym founder and trainer of some of the best fighters to grace a ring, including Thomas Hearns, Dennis Andreas and British heavyweight legend Lennox Lewis.

Fury searched around for Steward in Detroit and put the word out that he was looking for the trainer.

Speaking on the Main Event Radio Show Steward picks up the story.

"Tyson came to Detroit unexpected looking for me." said Steward.

"I was out having dinner one day and the phone rang, they said there's a big tall guy down at the gym looking for you called Tyson Fury, I said What!

"He had jumped on a plane, then after riding all over the city he eventually found the gym, because it wasn't where it used to be.

"He was meant to stay here for a week, but ended up staying three weeks at my home with me. We watched nothing but fight films and he asked lots of questions.

"Ive been very impressed with him, I didn't know he had so much natural talent and agility for a big man and when I went to train Wladimir (Klitschko) he asked if he could come to the camp, I said sure.

"So he was over there at the camp (Germany) and I can actually say he trained harder than anyone else at the camp. He ran every single day when no one else was running and he lost I think 25lbs.

The opponent he fought last, nobody wanted to fight him and it was switched at the last minute, but he went eight rounds, but he could have gone twelve rounds and he was very relaxed. He is going to fight regular now, hopefully once a month and Hennesy Sports is gonna keep him busy."

"I said to Wladimir in training, I said you see that guy, he is going to be the next super dominant heavyweight after you, he said yeah! I said yeah. Ive had Lennox on a nine year run, I'm gonna have you looks like nine years and that's gonna be my next super heavyweight." Steward added.

Tarver beat Green. Green's corner stopped the fight going into the 10th. Decent win.

Looking forward to the Fury/Chisora fight. I think it will be Fury on points

Is this the first time Five are showing Boxing? don't seem to recall there every been Boxing on Five before.

No I don't remember them ever showing boxing before. Hopefully this won't just be a one off, I'm all for boxing being shown on the terrestrial channels. They've got Al Bernstein (from American network Showtime) on commentary duty, which is a nice touch.

Really looking forward to Khan-Judah as well. I think Khan takes it either on points or with a late stoppage but wouldn't be surprised if Zab manages to spark him out. All it takes is one shot...

Danny Green I take it? Not a bad win. I thought Tarver had retired for some reason though.

Yeah, fight was in Sydney. After "knocking out" Roid, Green was chasing a fight in Australia with Hopkins. That fell through, unsurprisingly.

Tarver agreed to take the fight and travel. Unfortunate for Danny.

What time is the Tyson fight gunna be? Will it clash with our game in Chicago?

Boxing on terrestrial TV is a good thing as it gets people interested in boxing which boxing could do with. Was good in the past when they had Benn, Eubank, Nazeem fights on ITV etc before they got nicked by Sky. Think Calzaghe v Lacey was on ITV too and was one of the best fights ever.

Its tricky for boxers, they need to make a name and get their fights seen, build a fanbase but Sky offer more. Look at Carl Froch, lots of people saw one of his war like fights on TV then he ended up going on some barely heard of primetime channel.

Seen the advert for Fury on Five and wanted to take a look but not happy with an American commentator, would much prefer all British. British channel, British fight so don't get why we have to have a yank on. Its bad enough with Wimbledon. Don't get me wrong, he might know his stuff and there are some clueless English commentators but its all about the voice describing the action IMO. Can use my eyes for the rest.

Can't wait for Kahn fight also. These better not clash with our game.

Is Khan fighting tonight? I'm out of the loop here, big fight night tonight?

Guys, do we know what time the Fury v Chizora fight is?

Adz, yeh Khan is fighting tonight but it's in Vegas so it's at stupid o'clock.

Ah bollocks. United is on at 10 tonight aren't they?

Don't think I can be arsed staying up for Khan but if it started at about 1am I'd be willing to give it ago.

I assume it's a 2am/3am bout or something?

You might wake up to the news that Khan has been KO'd off a left uppercut.

Judah is a live dog in this fight.

No doubts, probably has a slightly better chin too. Just think he'll tire towards the end especially as Khan is quick as hell. Can't look past a Khan win though.

Khan is the favourite, and for good reason. However, I have a nagging feeling that Judah will pull off the upset. Therefore, I will go with Judah by KO.

Chisora weighed in at 18 stone 9. Heavier than Fury who is 8 inches taller. I hope this is a tactic...

 Fat cnut. It can only be tactical, nobody can come in that heavy without intending to.

As for Judah KO'ing Khan, it might well happen, especially early on. Khan still hasn't shaken off that horrible habit of throwing shots from out of position while he's off-balance and Judah can make him pay. He'll need to be very cautious, but then that's what people said about the Maidana fight and he was willing to take shots to get his own off. I still fancy a late Khan stoppage but I think he'll look sloppy till the inevitable Judah collapse happens sometime in the mid rounds.
