What?!

So because I'm sure Floyd will win, I either exibit bias or a lack of knowledge for the sport?

Also, has Manny not had problems with much lesser fighters than Floyd, and lost? It's a floored argument, on a large scale. Because neither boxer has faced someone as good as the other, there can't be a clear winner, or favorite?

Flawed.

Nice egg-corn.

Carry on, gents.

During a recent interview with the BBC, WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan discussed the possibility of fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2012. Mayweather returns on September 17 against WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz, while Khan has a scheduled unification on July 23 against IBF champion Zab Judah. If both of them win their upcoming fights, Khan believes the possibility of facing Mawyeather is very realistic.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer spoke with Mayweather, who is very interested in the fight. Khan and his trainer, Freddie Roach, accepted Mayweather as a potential opponent for 2012.

"It's very realistic. Golden Boy's Richard Schaefer spoke with Mayweather and his manager, and they really want the fight against me. And he also spoke to me and Freddie and we both agreed to take the fight in 2012. I think it's going to be a huge fight. I would want to bring that fight to the UK because in England we haven't had a real big fight for a long, long time. Floyd Mayweather against me, I think we could sell out Wembley or wherever," Khan said.

"If I go in there and beat Floyd Mayweather, I think that I would be known as one of the greatest fighters in history to come out of England. I really think the fight will happen in the next twelve months."

I fecking bet he is.

I bet this was his face when he was asked if he wanted some free money.

Kahn is a complete spastic. Is he really that ignorant to think he has a shot at Floyd? He can't really believe that at all.

I think he will struggle. He overates himself massively, but to want to fight Mayweather is insane. He can't win.

Roach wouldn't let him near Mayweather if he didn't think there was something there he could exploit. I still think Mayweather'll hammer him, mind, but it's not that daft a matchup given the lack of depth in Khan's weight division at the minute. I kind of admire him for having the balls to go after a fight like this, to be honest.

Khan is just ambitious. Sharing a gym with Pacquiao obviously has an effect and it seems like he wants to emulate his success - the only way to do that is by fighting the best. I find his attitude refreshing in today's boxing climate, especially because I was convinced that his title reign at 140lbs was going to consist of handpicked opponents in order to protect that chin of his. Maidana was a bad match up and the Judah fight looks even trickier on paper.

Unfortunately for Khan, he has loads of flaws that elite guys like Floyd will inevitably expose. There's no shame in that though and I fancy him to beat a lot of other fighters... I think he'll beat Judah for starters and I think he has a good chance against Tim Bradley. If he does that he'll be the undisputed champ in one of the sport's most stacked divisions, which would be mightily impressive. Bradley seems to be intent on fighting Pacquiao though and seemingly doesn't wanna risk the big payday by fighting Khan when there's a decent chance of him losing.

Why on earth would you choose Pacquiao over Khan if you're worried about losing. That's madness on his part. The attitude might be good and fresh from Khan but it doesn't change that he will get destroyed vs Mayweather.

I'm sure Bradley isn't worried about losing per se. Fighting Pacquaio first just has a much better cost to benefit ratio than fighting Khan first. Firstly it would likely be a career-high pay day for Bradley. It would also increase his name recognition to the general public even if he lost and increase his standing quite a bit if he put up a good fight. And if he won it would propel him towards superstardom. Either way, win or lose and fights against the likes of Khan are still more than feasible afterwards, and he'd quite possibly get paid more for them after fighting Pac.

A loss to Khan though and his name would slip down the pecking order for fights against Pac and Mayweather as he's both an awkward fighter to face and far from a household name.

Didn't see the Bute fight but downloaded and watched Rios-Antillon and Lara-Williams this morning.

I didn't even wait to hear the scorecards for the Williams fight and I've just found out now that he won a majority decision! One of the most blatant robberies I've ever seen, Lara battered him. Shocker.

Rios looked class against Antillon as well. He's a massive cnut but such an entertaining fighter.

Yeah, Lara got jobbed. Struggled to give Williams more than four rounds. Ridiculous decision.

BoxngScene.com has received a copy of a letter dated July 13, 2011, from Aaron Davis, the commissioner of the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board, advising promoters Dan Goossen and Golden Boy Promotions, that all three judges from last Saturday's junior middleweight bout, involving Paul Williams and Erislandy Lara, have been indefinitely suspended.

Citing concerns over their scoring, Davis informed the promoters that his agency placed judges Al Bennett, Hilton Whitaker and Don Givens on suspension and all three will require additional training upon returning to boxing. After what appeared to be a dominating victory for Lara, the three judges scored a majority decision win for Williams, with scores of 116-114 (Givens), 115-114 (Whitaker) and 114-114 (Bennett). HBO had the fight scored 117-111 for Lara, as did BoxingScene.com.

David also noted that his agency found no evidence of corruption, but he did admit that his agency "did not provide our best officiating on July 9.”

Better than nothing, I guess. The Ring have actually refused to acknowledge the result while compiling their updated rankings.

"The majority decision in favor of Paul Williams over Erislandy Lara was so egregious, the Editorial Board, with unanimous support from the Advisory Panel, decided the only fair course of action was to promote Lara and demote Williams," said Nigel Collins, Editor-in-Chief of THE RING. "The horrendous verdict spoiled what had otherwise been a good weekend of boxing and is just the sort of injustice that turns fans away from the sport."

The Bellew fight has been very disappointing considering the first meeting.

Looking forward to Mitchell vs Murray.

Cook/Burns is a farce. Over in one. Cook claiming a back injury after the first punch.

Really good fight between Mitchell & Murray, Mitchell with some quality uppercuts.

Great fight. Murray needs to work on his defence. You can't walk through punches against everyone.

I thought Murray was gonna win that quite easily. Good fight though and top performance from Mitchell, I didn't think he had it in him.

Murray's gonna get found out every time he steps up in class with that poor man's Ricky Hatton style of his. And to think there were rumours of a possible match up with Victor Ortiz a few months ago...

There was such a gulf in class between Mitchell and Murray. Will be interesting to see where Mitchell goes from here.

Yes. At a much higher level than Mitchell, though.

I fancy Katsidis to beat him again.

I'm not so sure. If they meet again I'd fancy Mitchell to win.

Murray had some success in the fight last night in the first 5 rounds, or so. He pressured well, cut off the ring and landed some good shots. Katsidis fights in a similar style, but is better in pretty much every department.

I see a similar fight to the first, with Katsidis forcing a stoppage in the middle rounds.

Aye when Mitchell got sucked in he got himself in a bit of trouble. As long as he employs the correct tactic I think he'll have too much for Katsidis, he's the more skilled fighter IMO. I don't think he'd stop Katsidis. I'd put my money on a points win for Mitchell.

Let's hope Mitchell gets his wish. There will be good money in it for Katsidis to return to Upton Park. Coming off of two losses, I doubt he could match it elsewhere.

Let's also hope that Mitchell stays out of the goddamn pub during training this time.

Anyone up for Fury/Chisora? Channel 5 on Saturday night.

Hard to come up with fighters more unpleasant than these two. Fury is a fat, obnoxious bastard who clearly lost to McDermott in their first fight, and Chisora is the Nicklas Bendtner of boxing. Both talk like they are lineal champions.

Double KO, hopefully. Realistically, Chisora should win, he has been operating at a higher level than Fury. I suppose Fury could have improved dramatically under Steward, but I doubt it.

I'll probably be watching I won't be on here because I should be out.
