It could easily have been stopped so it was the right result. Tight fight but that won it for Usyk.

Great fight regardless.

Fury couldn't keep pushing. Usyk was bouncing around and fury ain't got the same stamina

I think he thought he had the measure of Usyk and got complacent momentarily, then he got his clock cleaned and from there got a 10-8 against him then had to take the next round off to recover, which was costly in what was such a close fight up to that moment in time.

Agree he clowns to maintain stamina and also set traps, but this time, I think it was him showing his prowess. Lennox has just said the same, about him getting caught and it changing the fight.

The commentator on DAZN said that it was round 9 that Usyk turned the fight vs. Joshua and that this was atypical of something he'd do. Sure enough he went onto see it out. Don't think that's coincidence, whether or not Fury got complacent, Usyk is a late fight finisher in general. There was always the likelihood that he'd finish strong.

TBF we are trying to understand Fury who is a complete wildcard at the best of times. I think even when he was fighting well he was a little shocked by Usyk, I imagine he was especially shocked that it hurt when he got hit.

I don't have a problem with the close scorecard. I had Usyk first round, even round 2, Fury the next 4, Usyk the next 4 (with the knock down), Fury the 11th and even in the 12th. Usyk by one or two points. But Fury shouldn't have been given a W on any if the scorecards, perhaps a draw if you've given him the close rounds.

115-113 for me too

He couldn't maintain his punch output. All the drinking does damage to the liver can't match someone who's been a consummate professional their entire career. Skill-wise I think Tyson outdone Usyk in some regards but Usyk had the ability to go up a gear.
I do not think he undid Usyk skill-wise. He just had a massive size and height advantage so when Usyk was commuting, Fury was catching him with uppercut.

Until he got marked in that round and it changed everything.

Fury's Ukraine comment was utterly classless.

He better not double down on it in post-fight press conference.

That generous, I don’t see how it’s possible to give Tyson 11 but I guess I’d need to rewatch.

What is it with British heavyweights losing and turning into bellends post-match?

So pleased for Usyk. An absolutely fantastic boxer. Travelled all over Europe and now the world twatting everyone in their own backyards and/or under their own terms. He’s been brilliant for boxing. One of all the time greats.
Turning into a bellend? He’s a bellend usually so it’s hardly surprising he’s still a bellend when concussed.

Yeah it was pathetic.

Couldnt just say he thought he won the fight, and he'll set the record straight in October. No, had to put it down to 'I got beat because people feel sorry for Ukraine'.

Referee dragged Fury back into the match and let him recover, it was a technical fecking knock out.

Would love to know the judge who gave it to Fury. I guess the 2nd and 3rd round?

It takes skill to impose size, he was countering Usyk's lead jab then stepping into the uppercut so he's not open. For large portions of the early rounds used good lateral movement and Usyk missed as his punches were slipped or caught by Fury's backhand.

It forced Usyk into having to gamble to close the distance and that's what he did but Fury's conditioning depleted his athleticism more.

Fury didn't lose on a technicality he lost because of his physical composition he couldn't keep up which is a stark contrast to Joshua's performance where there was a skill deficiency for Anthony in almost every aspect of the fight.

Really felt like Usyk was there for the taking but somehow at certain moments Fury didn't commit more when he had to.
That big shot changed the fight, before his defense was decent and was probably going to ride his way to a decision. Still ended up a close fight.

Hopefully he might not be as scrambled by then.

He entourage fill his head with crap. No excuses for that comment he'll probably regret it.

Was similar to the AJ second fight, where AJ was doing relatively well, till the second half where he just found another level, and I don't don't think any heavy weight has the engine to live with him at that stage.

Such a reach disadvantage, how does he manage to overwhelm bigger men with such crazy pressure?

Really must be awkward fighting some like him, who is so powerful when you're that bit bigger.
Usyk has got some serious power over a shorter range, once he gets close you're in trouble. Think that's probably why Fury kept fecking about to stay away and wrapping him up. He went for it a bit more in the middle rounds. Once he got rattled he was afraid to really go at him a again.

Can't wait for the next instalment of "boxers who showboat too early" on Youtube.

Majority of the Sky pundits think the re-match won’t happen, as one of them will call it a day.

I'm shocked that the massive homophobic cnut that is Tyson Fury could be so classless, say the people who've apologised for him being a classless cnut for the majority of the last decade.

Fury will fight the winner of Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul.

Won money on that.

Fury's ring crew, including his fat useless father, helped feck that for him too. He was clearly behind and they just gas him up as if he was winning.

This is exactly why he will never be close to the likes of Lewis, he is nothing but a brawler who doesn't get the point of a stiff jab. In fact, even as a brawler he was in trouble the moment he genuinely got hurt.

Other than 4,5&6 what other rounds are people giving Fury?
117-110 Uysk for me. I might not have watched as many boxing matches as the Judges but I can't see how anyone can have Fury winning.
The difference between you and that judge is that you're not in charge of trying to make this fight look close, ahead of the promoters trying to sell the second one they'd already agreed to.

I think Fury will. Can't see him fighting again

Me too, can't see him wanting another 12 rounds of that. His lifestyle has caught up with him, and I think tomorrow when this sinks in, he will realise he can't take anymore punishment. This will take a long time to recover from, and it wouldnt surprise me if he goes back into one of his mental breakdowns once the dust settles.

Had lost interest in boxing, but have to say, that fight rekindled a love for the sport. What an epic spectacle. Had me on the edge of my seat for the majority of the contest.

How Usyk turned it on its head in the ninth I’ll never know. How Fury survived that onslaught is a mystery. Thought the ref was going to stop it, but in the end glad he didn’t.

Incredible achievement for Usyk, what a career and what an amazing champion. Exactly what this sport has needed for too long.

Oh he'll 100000% be blaming that Ukraine comment on his 'mental health' by Monday morning.

The first six or seven rounds were pretty close and open to subjective interpretation by the judges imo, which short of a stoppage, was destined to result in a close final score.

Can I just say Fury impressed me a lot. I actually have a lot more respect for him as a boxer now he's won 3 or so rounds against an otherworldly skilled customer.

I said it on here, I thought Usyk would cruise to a dominant win but Fury pulled out rounds 4, 5 & 6 and made me wonder for a bit, however, Usyk is just different class. Cleared out the cruiserweight division and now the heavyweight division.
