Wasn't bothered getting it after Cleverly changed his fights twice. Delighted that Groves won but could someone tell me what was it like in the end, the great fight it was made out to be or a bit of a cagey fight? I have to decide whether I should bother watching a replay.

Well done George Groves. Very tight decision but I don't think anyone can take it away from him. Will certainly be a re-match on the cards soon.

With regards to Cleverly, he sure does have quick hands but he is still quite naive at times. After the below press conference, I sure hope to see he and Bellew get it on soon.

Grooves threw more punches, landed more and had a better connect percentage.

He also had a sound defence causing de gale to miss a lot.

Degale could also have had a point deducted for a few cheap shots with elbows and a shoulder.

Very close but a fair result for me.

Agreed.

People seem to be forgetting the point deduction Degale should have had

DeGale was so cocky/confident on soccer am a week or two ago: "I won't lose." - "Don't talk to me about losing."

 Wanker

Got upgraded to floor seats, was brilliant in there!
Dunno if TV portrayed it but Degale got booed the feck out of. No doubt about it for me that Groves won that, used good feints and movement and in essence out Degaled Degale.

What I liked a lot about him last night is the fact he kept turning James, the second his back touched the ropes he would spin out and turn James even if he didn't tae advantage and throw after it just looked so good and the judges must have picked up on it.

Anyway feck all that, lets tip our hats to the oldest world champion ever Bernard Hopkins!

I really don't know why everyone dislikes DeGale just because he's cocky. The overwhelming majority of boxers are super cocky in the build up to a fight.

be intresting to see if he actually gives up his money for the fight after forcing groves into the bet, some how I doubt he will.

No, they aren't. There is a difference between confidence and 'super cocky.' Besides, DeGale isn't even that, he is just an obnoxious feckwit. Floyd can get away with it because of his talent, and his record. DeGale had fought 10 times prior to this weekend yet acts like he's Ali.

DeGale tries to be this brash, loudmouth type but doesn't have the wit or the charisma to pull it off. He just comes off as crass, thick as feck and a bit of a cnut, really. I know it's probably all a deliberate ploy but is it really worth it when you're getting booed to feck in your home city... and then don't even win the fight? Frank Warren's interview was a high point though, he looked on the verge of tears.

As for Hopkins, what a win. Made Pascal look pretty clueless in there yet again. That's also 2 exciting fights (relatively speaking) back-to-back now! In his post-fight interview he said something along the lines of him saving the best of his career til the last and that he's going to finish up with a load of exciting fights. We'll have to wait and see...

I believe there is talk of Nathan Cleverly fighting Hopkins now they are both world champions, think he will probably end up with one of the other title holders though.

Yes, it is Vitali and Adamek announcing their fight which will take place on September 10th.

I am excited about Crotch/Glencappuccinno. Anyone else?

Sky this time, too, as opposed to the Primetime shitbags.

Should be a tear up. Johnson always comes to fight, and Crotch can't help but be drawn into a war. It is Johnson's second fight at 168, since coming back down from LHW, so weight shouldn't be an issue. Age, on the other hand, could well be.

I expect Crotch to win, then get trounced by Ward in the final.

Looks like it's Khan/Judah.

BoxingScene.com has been advised that an agreement was reached for a unification bout between junior welterweight champions Amir Khan (25-1, 17KOs) and Zab Judah (41-6, 28KOs). The fight will take place on July 23 in Las Vegas. Over the last few weeks, the negotiations were stalled over money and the fight location. The bout will be televised on HBO. Judah's promoter, Kathy Duva of Main Events, told BoxingScene the contracts are in the process of being drafted.

Tough fight for Khan if you ask me. Judah's slippery as feck and if he can frustrate Khan like McCloskey did and get him to start lunging in, throwing shots from out of position, then Judah is fast enough and sharp enough to catch him with something big... one of those trademark uppercuts of his maybe. Look at the amount of uppercuts Maidana landed on Khan, he's defo open for it.

Anyway, hope Khan wins and goes on to fight Bradley this winter. Be a shame if it doesn't materialise when all 4 belts could potentially be on the line.

I agree with you that it's a tough fight for Khan. He could very well get his clock cleaned, as Judah can bang. That said, I would expect Khan to fight an ultra cautious fight, especially early. The longer the fight goes the more I would favour Khan.

A lot depends on Judah. As we all know the mythical "focused Zab" is unbeatable.
