Jacobs is a sound guy. Really like the guy. GGG got away with it tonight.

Yep, as I said earlier, I'm rooting for GGG but don't wanna see Jacobs lose...

... I guess that kinda happened? I refuse to accept he lost :D

So, does GGG still beat Canelo for you guys? After tonight, I'm far from sure.

That was an extremely close and competitive fight but I think it was swung just in favour of GGG. Starting to think he is just a little bit over the hill too. I mean sure maybe there was some reservation over the weight in letting his hands go, but this fight should work as a real wake up call for him.

I think GGG edged it, it was a close fight and GGG didn't look his best but I do think it was the right decision. I think when an underdog does alright against a heavy favourite we tend to over rate their performance. It wasn't a huge robbery it was just a close fight.

I hope we get GGG vs. Canelo next for him really. No interest in a rematch of this fight. GGG isn't getting any younger and Canelo (with help from DLH) constantly avoiding him is ridiculous.

Had it 115-113 GGG myself

Yeah, not a great showing by GGG, think Jacobs fought stupidly in the early/middle rounds(4-7), when he stuck to boxing and using his reach he controlled the fight. GGG also looked gassed towards the end. Feel like jacobs should've done more to win the 12th round(i scored it for GGG) to win this fight
Was a close fight, but at the end of the day, only jacobs looked like he got hurt

What's interesting is that all three judges had the fight over by the end of the 9th barring any knockdowns. Then the scores tightened up.

He walked through Brook punches as he knew they wouldn't hurt him. The Lemieux fight and the way he rendered him totally impotent tells you everything you need to know. Jacobs doesn't stand a chance IMO.

I've noticed with GGG when he starts shaking his head at the opponent after getting tagged, it usually means he felt their power and he ain't impressed.

It's usually bad news for the opponents.

Welcome back mate.

What did you make of Gonzalez v Rungvisai and GGG v Jaccobs?

Welcome back, I saw they banned your ass. :) (Shocked, I didn't see what happened)

Thank you! Good to be back! :D

GGG vs. Jaccobs: firstly very very good match. GGG was better in first half of the fight, Daniel in 2ND.

I don't the agree with "it was a robbery" movement, it was a good decision IMO, but scoring was off. No way in hell it was so convincing in favour of GGG, if only he edged it slightly. Will have to watch it again and score it (for what it's worth
)
It was a very close call, with GGG getting the W due to the fact that he was going forward, pressing Jacobs throughout the fight, landing that left jab non stop as well as getting more clean punches. KD as well ofc.

He looked tired from the middle of the fight which is unusual for him, probably getting frustrated he couldn't put him away.

Jacobs looked big as fek. He has speed, agility and his combo's are great to watch. His in ring movement was great as well, he wasn't letting GGG cut the ring as efficiently as he usually does.

One thing tho, we know that GGG has a tremendous chin (from what we've seen so far) but I was surprised with Jacobs lack of power tbh.

IMO we should see a rematch, that is if Canelo doesn't step up and goes in with GGG which would be the big money fight. I reckon this match has made some bells ring in Canelo's camp.

Haven't seen Gonzalez vs. Rungvisai, gotta download it tonight when I'm home from work!

He missed one of the final weigh ins which would of been needed to win one of the belts (I think the IBF) so I'm guessing he used the time to rehydrate and came in bigger the GGG.

Sigh, Tyson... I feel for him.

That's from a while ago isn't it? The Wlad rematch that never happened.

But either way I do feel sorry for him, deeply troubled person and fair play to him for opening up about it. There's still a stigma about mental health isues so got to respect someone so famous openly speaking about it. Shame when people judge him for it really doesn't help anybody.

Seconded.

Anyone watching or going to Crolla vs. Linares this weekend? Didn't bother with tickets me as got a lot on next month (including Joshua fight) can't really see it going any other way but the same result as last time. I do like Crolla but Linares is in a class above I think. Good news is it's on Sky Sports so won't have to pay for it!

Yeah, gotta favour a Linares late stoppage or wide points decision. He's such a classy combination puncher, a joy to watch really. Hope Crolla can defy the odds and shut up some of the critics across the pond. Gallagher hasn't had much joy of late, but whatever plans they conjure up I fear Crolla is just too limited a fighter in comparison to his opponent. Should be action packed so really looking fwd to it!

I've got loads of time for Crolla but i don't really see what he can do differently. There's no mystery to the way he fights and he's very upright. Linares has shown in the past he can be vulnerable but Crolla is no banger.

Linares has selected the 'punchers' glove this time - i wonder if he thinks he can get it done early now he knows he can hurt Crolla.

Think Linares will win again fwiw. Can't see Crolla being able to score enough points against a man that can walk through his power and hurt him with heavy shots.

Sounds as good a boxing atmosphere as you will hear anywhere in the world.

United songs breaking out all over the place!

Linares has a great mix of power and style.

Decent start by Crolla though.
