Abandoning whatever morals I've got left...YAY! Should be a very entertaining fight, even if it is just a bloody beatdown by Manny. If Margarito has anything left he'll be a live, dangerous opponent though. As much as people may be against this fight now, you'd probably have been laughed out of the room 4 or 5 years back if you'd suggested Manny Pacquaio would ever have been a heavy favourite against Margarito at welterweight. Or is it at junior middle?

Shit, didn't know Kessler had withdrawn. Can't really complain about having the top dogs in the division regularly facing each other, but besides that the Super 6 has been a bit of a wash out.

Ha I know. It wasn't long ago that the very prospect of Pacquiao fighting Margarito seemed ridiculous, now he's expected to beat him fairly easily. It's crazy how much difference two years makes in boxing. Ignoring all the controversy, I agree that it will probably be a well entertaining fight, even if it's just Margarito walking face first into power shots for 12 rounds. I can see him taking a savage amount of punishment in this fight.

I'm really looking forward to it to be honest. It should be a bloodbath. Anyone got a link for the Segura-Calderon fight? Maidana won on points against Corley last night but reportedly looked awful. Here's a shite quality vid of the final round:

Nah still looking for a Calderon-Segura link, I'll PM you or summat when I manage to find one.

As for Maidana, yeah tried looking for a stream last night but fecked it off to watch UFC. Surprised Corley took him the distance, tbh, I was an expecting an early-ish knock out. I take it he'll be fighting Khan next? Interesting match up.

I don't get the Maidana hype, to be honest. He can punch, but that's about it. A lot of people are pinning a lot of hope on a guy who lost to Kotelnik.

Khan should fustigate him, as long as he doesn't get sloppy.

Cheers mate. Khan-Maidana was listed on Boxrec as confirmed earlier but they've pulled it down now. I think it'll happen though.

Yeah I reckon it'll happen. I don't really buy into the Maidana hype, either. Ortiz would have beaten him had he not decided to fight like an idiot and go toe-to-toe with a proven banger when he didn't have to. That's where most of the hype seems to originate from.

I agree Khan beats him but all it takes is one slip of concentration and the fight changes in an instant. Maidana has the power to KO anyone in the division and Khan's chin is so bad he'd probably hit the deck if someone threw a drink in his face. Even if it's a shit fight (I'm expecting a Wlad-esque display of caution, tbh) it'll still be exciting knowing that one clean punch could mean it's over.

CLK, could you post a link to that Facebook group? I did a search and there's a bunch with the same name.

 nice one

50/50 of what though? i get the impression 50/50 means 50/50 of a certain aspect. For example 50/50 of the PPV whilst he is contracted to a TV network who pay to him and his opponent doesnt anything from that.

Anyway, it's just speculation. Surely if David Haye is lying about what happend then he'll get sued or something.

Floyd Mayweather: 'I'll cook that chump'

Floyd Mayweather Jr., who has steadfastly refused to answer questions about the most recent round of failed negotiations for a fight with Manny Pacquiao, has unleashed a profanity-filled racist and homophobic Internet rant against the Filipino star.

In an approximately 10-minute UStream video, apparently made Thursday and also posted on YouTube, Mayweather repeated his assertion that Pacquiao uses performance-enhancing drugs, an accusation that resulted in a defamation lawsuit from Pacquiao earlier this year.

Mayweather, apparently in his home with a handful of members of his entourage in the background, ripped into Pacquiao repeatedly during the video.

"I'm on vacation for about a year, about a year," Mayweather said. "As soon as we come off vacation, we're going to cook that little yellow chump. We ain't worried about that. So they ain't gotta worry about me fighting the midget. Once I kick the midget ass, I don't want you all to jump on my d---. So you all better get on the bandwagon now. ... Once I stomp the midget, I'll make that mother f----- make me a sushi roll and cook me some rice."

"The video speaks for itself," Pacquiao said in a statement given to ESPN.com by his publicist, Fred Sternburg.

Animated as ever, Mayweather at times spoke directly to the camera and at other times kept the recording running while he made calls to fans who had posted messages to his UStream and Twitter pages.

The tirade came as Pacquiao is in the midst of a three-city media tour to promote his Nov. 13 fight with Antonio Margarito -- a bout taking place only because Mayweather refused to fight him.

But Mayweather sure made it sound as though the fight with Pacquiao, boxing's biggest bout and the fight many believe will shatter all revenue records in boxing history, will eventually happen. They have already had two rounds of negotiations fail -- in January and again during the spring.

"At this particular time I don't know if I'm gonna fight again," Mayweather said. "As of right now, I truly believe I am gonna fight again, but as of right now I don't have the urge to get up. But when I do got the urge to get up, believe me my UStream and my Twitter fans will be the first to know, and when we do come back, we will kick 'Poochiao' ass. So I'll let the fans know. Don't worry, we'll kick 'Poochiao' ass. He's gonna take the urine and blood test."

All terms had been agreed to in January for Mayweather and Pacquiao to meet in March, except for the drug-testing protocol. Mayweather had demanded that he and Pacquiao submit to random blood and urine tests throughout the buildup to the fight. Pacquiao agreed to random urine tests, but they could not come to an agreement on the blood-testing protocol and the fight plans imploded.

Pacquiao went on to easily defeat Joshua Clottey on March 13. Mayweather went on to easily outpoint Shane Mosley on May 1.

Then a second round of negotiations failed and Pacquiao signed to fight Margarito.

During this week's media tour to promote the bout, Pacquiao said he gave in to Mayweather's testing demands during the second round of negotiations.

"We agree with, you know, his demands," Pacquiao said. "I wanted to know if that's his real reason [for not signing to fight]."

Mayweather's camp has denied the second round of negotiations ever took place, even though Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, insisted that they did, with HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg serving as the intermediary. Arum's version was backed up by Greenburg, despite the Mayweather camp's denials.

During the video, Mayweather also went on a rant about Pacquiao's record, even though Pacquiao has not lost a fight since 2005, and made incorrect comments about the money each had received for recent fights and endorsements.

" 'Poochiao' got three losses and two draws and been knocked out twice," Mayweather said. "So, like I said before, once I beat him it's going to be a cakewalk and it's on to the next. ... We know Pacquiao made $6 million in his last fight and Floyd Mayweather made $65 million in his last fight. Three losses, two draws. Ohhh, hell no, this is America baby. We built on winning. Step your game up, f----t. ... That mother f----- Pacquiao, he can't speak no English. He never seen a contract he didn't like. Mother f----- signed with two companies [Top Rank and Golden Boy]. Look it up. And then this mother f------ with Nike only got 70 Gs. How stupid can a mother f----- be? Reebok gave me a million dollars for three weeks. I wore Reebok s--- for a week for a million dollars. ... This mother f------'s name is Emmanuel. He got a fake name, taking power pellets."

Mayweather also broke out into a bizarre song in which he called Pacquiao a "whore" and added: "When we do come back, we'll kick 'Poochiao's' ass. I'm gonna fight the Pacman when he gets off the power pellets."

wow...really really random, even for Floyd

WBA champion David Haye to fight Audley Harrison

David Haye will make the second defence of his WBA world heavyweight title against fellow Briton and 2000 Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison.

The pair will meet at the MEN Arena in Manchester on 13 November.

It will be the biggest all-British fight for a world heavyweight title since Lennox Lewis defended his WBC crown by stopping Frank Bruno in 1993.

Haye, 29, won the WBA belt by beating giant Russian Nikolay Valuev on points in Germany on 7 November 2009.

The former cruiserweight king, who has lost only once in 25 professional bouts, then defended his title by stopping American John Ruiz at the MEN Arena in April.

For 38-year-old Harrison, November's contest against Haye gives him the chance to fulfil his dream of winning a genuine world title.

Harrison won super heavyweight gold at the Sydney Games and was tipped to become a world champion in the professional ranks.

But his career failed to take off in any meaningful way and looked to be over when he suffered a shock points loss to Belfast taxi driver Martin Rogan in December 2008.

The 1998 Commonwealth Games champion reignited his career by winning Prizefighter last year and then scored a 12th-round knockout against Michael Sprott to win the EBU heavyweight title in April.

Haye had hoped to meet either of the Klitschko brothers, who hold the other recognised world heavyweight titles, after beating Ruiz.

Haye's manager, Adam Booth, held talks earlier this year with Vitali (WBC) and Wladimir (WBO and IBF) about a possible unification fight but those negotiations foundered.

A contest between Haye and fellow Londoner Harrison, who were once close friends before a public war of words last year, will have box-office appeal in Britain, with the MEN Arena virtually guaranteed to sell out.

BBC Sport - WBA champion David Haye to fight Audley Harrison

Haye will take Audley apart.

Piss poor fight.

Fair enough, it makes financial sense, but people have a right to expect more than this when you proclaim yourself to be the saviour of the heavyweight decision.

Imagine if Audley sparks him out, though!

Does anyone know ANYONE at all who "demanded" this fight?

This is embarrassing, a nice slap in the face to the fans who followed Haye. I let him off with the Ruiz fight as somehow that's not his fault, but this is insane.

This fight is a joke and Audley should be not allowed anywhere near a ring.Disappointed in Hayes it does look like he avoiding the Klitschko brothers.

Harrison?

If/when Haye batters him, then he's got to face one of the Klitchko lads

Where's Floyd Mayweather Jr. outcry?

After watching Floyd Mayweather's racist and homophobic rant on YouTube, I was immediately reminded of another popular YouTube clip: "The Bed Intruder Song" featuring Antoine Dodson. With each slanderous remark out of Mayweather's mouth, I could hear Dodson saying "you are so dumb, really, really dumb -- fo' real."

I mean, who does that?

Besides Dr. Laura, Don Imus, Michael Richards … OK, never mind. So Mayweather isn't the only person to insert an ignorant foot into his public mouth and then try to remove it with an awkward, insincere apology.

"I was trying to make a joke."

"What I said was wrong."

"I'm going into rehab."

Official statements aside, the truth is sometimes we learn more about the person on the front end of a controversy than the back. For example, you can tell from the comfort with which Dr. Laura Schlessinger said the N-word that her infamous Aug. 10 broadcast was not her first time uttering the slur. And as you watch the Mayweather clip in which he rips Manny Pacquiao, it's obvious he doesn't have a problem using a homophobic slur or making offensive, ethnic-based jokes in his private life.

True, Mayweather hurts people for a living, so there should be less shock to hearing him make offensive remarks than someone who is suppose to help people like Schlessinger. Still, his occupation should not excuse him from crossing the line.

Which brings me to my second point: Just as we sometimes learn more about a person on the front end of a controversy than the back, sometimes it's the back end that reveals the ugly truth. In this case, the truth is Mayweather's being given a pass because he's black.

Not long after Schlessinger made her remarks, Rev. Al Sharpton could be seen ripping her to shreds on CNN and suggesting sponsors pull ads from her show. I've yet to hear a Sharpton comment regarding Mayweather. I've yet to hear him call for a boycott of any of his future fights or the sponsors tied to him.

The same goes for the Rev. Jesse Jackson, who didn't have a problem inserting himself in the conversation this summer when Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert went off on LeBron James after the King moved his throne to Miami. Jackson implied Gilbert's comments were laced with racist undertones. He even demanded a sit-down with the owner. I've yet to see Jackson insert himself into the Mayweather conversation or publicly request a similar meeting.

We know what Mayweather's comments said about him, but what does the muted response say about Sharpton, Jackson and the rest us? That it's different because it's boxing?

Maybe.

But the day Tiger Woods won the Masters in 1997, Fuzzy Zoeller took a lot of heat and lost sponsors for calling a then-21-year-old Woods "little boy" and urging him not to serve fried chicken and collard greens the following year. Zoeller's words are akin to Mayweather's about Pacquiao, who is Filipino. Now do you still think it's about boxing?

Mayweather's comments are as troublesome as Schlessingers', but he is being treated differently because he's black.

Period.

And if he were being treated honestly, black man or not, we would be hearing denunciations from Jackson, Sharpton and the NAACP. (The National Federation of Filipino American Associations provided a lead for them today.) I'm not playing devil's advocate; I'm advocating for equality -- but in the true sense of the word. Whites don't hold the patent on being racially insensitive, just as blacks are not the only group of people to be discriminated against in this country.

For example, more than 250,000 Filipinos served in the United States military during World War II and were promised full veterans benefits for doing so. Yet in 1946, President Harry S. Truman, the same man who issued an executive order desegregating the military, signed the Recession Act, essentially reneging on that promise. No school benefits, no hospital benefits, nothing. Every president since Truman treated these brave soldiers like second-class citizens. It wasn't until last year when the country finally honored its commitment to the approximately 15,000 veterans who were still alive.

If we truly believe in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere," then it is only fair that the boxing world punish Mayweather. I understand he's the industry's cash cow. But this kind of hypocrisy only fertilizes racial tension while simultaneously lining the pockets of people who make their living manipulating that tension.

Mayweather should not be judged by the color of his skin, but by the content of his YouTube comments. If a half-hearted apology was not enough to spare Imus, Schlessinger, et al, then it shouldn't spare him.

And if it does, then what does that say about us?
