Any of you guys watch some of the classic older stuff on Youtube.

Just been watching the various fights between Tommy Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler and Roberto Duran.

Some great bouts between these boxers.

Junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley and Amir Khan waged a war of words on twitter over the last few hours. Bradley said enough was enough when he saw an article where Khan said he would clean his clock if they met in the ring [click here to read]. The two 140-pounders have been waging a verbal war for the last few days.

Bradley - Amir Khan said he will knock me out. Bring it on baby I will fight you next! If your a man face me next and not [Juan Manuel] Marquez.

Khan - Your turn will come, just get in the que. I want to face a better bunch of opponents first.

Bradley - Until you face me you will never get the respect...period! So who you [are] going to face next then?

Khan - Tim Bradley is dying for a pay day. Tell him get in the que of better opponents and wait his turn to get KO'd.

Bradley - Dude what you talking about? Believe in my own hype? I've beaten [Kendall] Holt, [Lamont] Peterson, [Junior] Witter, [Nate] Campbell. I deserve a pay day.

Khan - Remember one thing, I'd beat everyone who you beat. I'd KO them. Infact, you avoided [Andreas] Kotelnik and [Dimitry] Salita. Who's the bitch now?

Bradley - I avoided Kotelnik and Salita?? Please explain how I avoided them? I think you're the ducker. Who's your mandatory? [Marcos] Maidana.

Dude I highly doubt you would have beaten Kendal Holt in 2009, maybe now but not when I fought him.

If you face Maidana next fair enough, he's your mandatory but if you face Marquez you know there will be a backlash against you about. You gotta be a man and tell Richard Schaefer you wanna face legit 140 pounders not blown-up lightweights.

Khan - Maidana has a bad back. I wanted him. You say you want to fight but indirectly you don't. You overprice yourself and say I'm scared...come on!

Bradley - You paid Maidana step-aside money. You're the ducker son!

Your ego is too big. Humble yourself before someone shatters your glass jaw!

Overprice myself? What are you talking about? Gary Shaw and Richard haven't even discussed financial details.

Khan sounds like a complete tool.

Should be a good'un. I expect Marquez to take it but you never know, Diaz was doing well in their first fight til he got cut (at least from what I remember) and Marquez is getting on a bit, not to mention he hasn't fought in almost a year. Will be another close fight.

Diaz was the more aggressive in the first but he was still getting caught with the better, cleaner punches. The counter punches from Marquez. He looked the busier and people called it like he was winning but i really thought Marquez was landing the better shots just he was doing it with counters that are harder to see than the come forward flurry style of Diaz.

No doubt Diaz can win though, you have to wonder how much Marquez has left really.

The Bradley twitter was fake, just a fan.

I'm at the WBC convention met Martinez, Vitali, Chuvalo, Judah, barkley, Minter etc waiting for Duran & Cotto (who I've been told isn't here and may not show)

John Mugabi and Glen McCrory are staying in my hotel ad are both very nice Mugabi keeps telling me I'm very handsome whilst McCrory was given an award for working with underprivileged youth ad went out of his way to take a pic with me.

Marquez looked superb last night. Slowed down towards the end but he had all but won it by that stage anyway. Diaz showed a tonne of heart as usual but he was a step behind Marquez all night.

Yeah, I love watching the old stuff. Duran is a god. If you haven't seen him before, you should look up some Aaron Pryor fights. Crazy bastard, and one of the most entertaining fighters ever imo.

Only just got round to watching Marquez-Diaz, been busy since Saturday. Luckily it's piss easy to avoid the result when it comes to boxing.

Yeah Marquez looked shit hot to be honest, he clearly still has plenty left which is surprising considering he's well old for a small fighter. Never really seen Diaz fight that way before but thought he held his own pretty well - he was just outclassed.

Just had a read about and apparently the WBO are forcing Marquez to face his manadtory (Katsidis). I really hope that goes ahead instead of him going after Khan, it will be a fecking war.

Marquez-Katsidis would be brutal. Katsidis looks to have improved quite a bit since Casamayor, but he's never going to be a defensive wizard. I'm a huge fan of his and I'd want him to win but I think Marquez would take it.

Yeah I'm not sure Katsidis can stand the idea of being involved in a boring fight. Guaranteed tear up every time he steps in the ring.

That coupled with him being a classy guy out of the ring is why he gets a lot of love from boxing fans. From what I gather he's not particularly popular in Australia, though? Pretty baffling... he'd be a star over here if he was British.

But yeah, hope he gets his opportunity against Marquez. I dunno what else he has to do to earn a pay day.

That's nuts. Just down a bit of reading about it and it looks like Mundine and Green are the far bigger names. :wenger:

People are idiots. I'd love to see Katsidis vs Khan, but he's the type of fighter Khan will likely avoid like the plague.

Khan was looking to fight in July and Katsidis' name was thrown out there as a possible opponent. Dunno why it never happened, or even if there was any truth to the rumour, but he's the type of fighter Khan's team should be looking at.

No chance Goldenboy would let that happen, though, Khan has no inside game and Katsidis is pretty heavy-handed. Shame because he'd learn more from that type of fight than he would against the much smaller Marquez or a crude slugger like Maidana.

Who would you pick to win Khan vs Katsidis? Head and heart both say Katsidis to me, although its pretty much a 50-50. Khan will land early and often, and to me it all hinges on whether he's got the power to stop Katsidis before the mid-rounds. If he doesn't I see Katsidis walking him down and battering him.

Khan would embarrass Katsidis. Too big, and too fast.

It pains me to say it, as I am a big fan of Katsidis, and I can't stand Khan.

I don't see size as being a big factor Lance. Katsidis is strong as an ox, and Khan doesn't really utilise his strength particularly well anyway as he stays away from in-fighting as much as possible.

His speed could well make the difference though, but to me his power is going to be key. If he's a big enough puncher to finish Katsidis he'll win as he will land, but if he can't finish him I don't see him being able to keep Katsidis off of him for 12 rounds.

Katsidis lost to Diaz, and got knocked out by Casamayor at 135.

He's tailor made for Khan. It would be a massacre, IMO.

Stop it.

Nah, I know you're probably right mate. I'm clinging to some signs of defensive improvement by Katsidis since then, and the fact that Kahn still hasn't proven anything as regards inside game or chin.

The Freddie Roach factor makes him even more of a favourite, but one thing about Freddie's recent success stories like Manny and Chavez Jr is that while they're brilliant offensively under him they do still tend to get hit, and if Katsidis does catch him he won't let him off the hook.

Khan would win but I don't think it'd be an easy fight. He looks awkward as feck when he's put under pressure or whenever he's forced to fight on the inside, which is pretty much what Katsidis is all about. Would be a good fight, though.

In fact, Katsidis against any opponent usually results in an entertaining fight. Gotta love the guy.

Nice pics.

I hear Kotelnik was "screwed" against Alexander, last night. Didn't see the fight, so can't comment. And Cloud pulled one out over Glencappuccino, in another close fight, by all accounts.

Nipple is a fat turd. 256? Seriously?

Quite surprised by Dawson losing. Had him nailed on to win a decision. He didn't appear to want to let his hands go. Credit to Pascal, though. I think I have been underrating him, somewhat, as a result of the Crotch fight.

Thought Dawson was gonna take it fairly comfortably, so fair play to Pascal. In fact I had Dawson down as being pretty much untouchable at 175.

But who knows what would've happened if it hadn't have been stopped? Dawson was coming on pretty strong until the clash of heads and Pascal looked knackered.

The Super Six Boxing Classic has taken yet another blow as WBC super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler has withdrawn from his fight with Allan Green, scheduled to take place on September 25 in Denmark and televised by Showtime. Based on the reports in Denmark, Kessler is suffering from an eye injury that has affected his vision for the last few months. Kessler was advised to stay away from sparring, and fighting, for a few months. He is hoping to fight again in the early to mid part of 2011.

The injury provides a blow to the Super Six, which has seen several fights postponed and the fight between Andre Ward and Andre Dirrell, also scheduled for September 25, has yet to secure a venue and is likely being postponed.

No word at the moment if another fighter will replace Kessler or how the executives at Showtime will handle the situation.

With the unexpected withdrawal of Mikkel Kessler from the Super Six tournament, BoxingScene.com was advised that Showtime is leaning in the direction of fast-forwarding the Super Six to the semi-finals. Kessler withdrew from the tournament on Wednesday, citing a serious eye injury. Kessler's recovery could take up to nine months.

As previously reported on BoxingScene, the upcoming Super Six clash between Arthur Abraham and Carl Froch, scheduled for October 2, will likely have the vacant WBC super middleweight title at stake.

The general manager for Sauerland Event, Chris Meyer, advised BoxingScene that Kessler will likely vacate his WBC title - and because Andre Dirrell [WBC #1] is scheduled to fight WBA champion Andre Ward - that would leave Abraham [WBC #3] and Froch [WBC #2] in position to collide for the vacant belt.

If Showtime goes in their likely direction of fast-forwarding to the semi-finals, Ward-Dirrell and Abraham-Froch would become the semis - and Allan Green, who doesn't have any points in the tournament, would be pushed out of the Super Six.

Green was scheduled to fight Kessler on September 25 in Denmark. To compensate Green for a possible early exit from the Super Six, I've heard Showtime is likely going to guarantee him a televised date. Green entered the Super Six as a replacement for Jermain Taylor. There are unconfirmed rumors that Green's next fight could take place in the light heavyweight division.

Ward-Dirrell is still scheduled for the date of September 25, but the fight doesn't have a venue, and every indication has the match being postponed to a later date in the year.

We lose Green, who sucks anyway. However, I am not what you would call happy with Froch and Abraham losing their way into a title fight.

Far from ideal, but this thing is fast becoming a train wreck anyway. Wrapping it up with 3 potentially good fights and moving on might be the best solution possible now.

It started with Taylor pulling out, and has since lurched from one disaster to another. "Hometown cooking", a DQ, people threatening to pull out, Ward and Dirrell seemingly reluctant to get in the ring together, too long between fights, postponements, injuries....

Other than that, it's been great.
