Can't stand Bellew, not a massive fan of Haye either but hope Haye smashes him. Bellew is a hugely average boxer and on top of it possibly the most cringing person ever when he speaks, typical Scouser really.

The fight is a sham. A con job. Bellew was destroyed by Stevenson, what chance does he have of standing up to Haye? Are we supposed to believe that these two former friends are now enemies or have simply concocted a plan for a massive payday? Bellew gets more of a pass because he will never earn anywhere near as much as he will against Haye but for Haye this is just the next chapter in his long con to line his pockets since leaving the cruiserweight division.

Yeah true not arguing with any of that really. They're both dicks but I just think Haye is the lesser of 2 evils. Any time I see Bellew talking how he's "just a fat scouser who will knock you out" I want to throw my remote through the TV. He's honestly one of the worst top level boxers I've seen at trash talk considering he loves the sound of his own voice and on top of it he's a hugely average boxer who is lucky he's in a shit division. At least Haye has/had talent and was entertainign to watch. If Bellew was in my back garden I think I'd shut the curtains.

I really hope Haye Vs Bell happens. Can only see another Enzo Vs Haye outcome.

Haye will KO him within 3. Will be such a mismatch.

Bellew was embarrassing last night.

Prince Naz, one of the best of all time IMO.
His patient destruction of Boom Boom Johnson- he was a remarkable finisher and it beats fecking Strictly on a Sunday night. We need to stop living in the past and get some new stars!

Boxing is in desperate need of some new stars. The biggest name in the sport is still Mayweather despite the fact he's retired.

Joshua has potential to be it but he's in a pretty poor division. If he beats Wlad he will sky rocket but then who does he fight? Hearn will probably market Ortiz as a credible threat with him being in the same stable.

Canelo has/had potential to be it but his stock has really been damaged by GGG.

I reckon Spence will be the next big thing, it's a good division with plenty of good fighters all of them relatively young as well.

Boxing really is in trouble.
I can't see anything past the Ward fight that will grab mainstream attention.

The UFC 205 card in New York could end up being the final nail in boxing' coffin from a financial perspective.

In all honesty the Ward fight won't grab main stream attention. He barely generates massive interest in boxing circles let alone grab casual viewers.

Boxing is in the gutter at the moment. I genuinely don't know who will be the next massive name. To much politicking involved at the top level. The sport needs to be completely revamped, to many titles for example gives people an excuse not to fight each there and gives to much power to corrupt officials.

It's meant to be being rescheduled for March at the moment. If that happens it'll work out better for Joshua as Wlad will be even older and probably rusty. AJ should have a tune up fight against someone really (Price has been calling him out and that'd be adecent fight for him.)

Must have been a serious purse for Frampton to head straight into a rematch. The Las Vegas fight could have been available with almost anyone else. Got to hand it to him, he's hell of a fighter and one of the few that take challenges on. Bloody top bloke too.

UFC makes nowhere near as much as the big boxing fights.

I strongly suspect this won't be the case in 2017. Truly big boxing fights are done, and Conor Mcgregor made more money than any boxer this year.

how much did he make?

how many fights though?

I think he had two, but it's besides the point. The money goes where the demand is, and after finally getting NYC to let them stage an event, it could be a turning of the tide. Fighting in Madison square garden is so synonymous with boxing , but given this UFC event is by far their best card ever, if it even gets close to hitting expectations then MSG is going to want them to come back, again and again and again.

http://www.totalsportek.com/money/conor-mcgregor-vs-nate-diaz-purse/ $3m purse is the record? Sorry mate, but it has a long way to go to the $30m purse of Tyson Vs Wlad

James Degale vs Badou Jack - Jan 14th in Las Vegas.
