That was a bit of a let down expected more from Mitchell.

Also what the feck was with the national anthem? I have never heard God Save the Queen song so badly was she trying to be a yank?

Fair play Katsidis was just in a different class in power

Dissapointing from Mitchell. Think he walked into it really, everyone expects Katsidis to just come out banging which would have suited Mitchell more but instead Katsidis allowed Mitchell to be the aggressor and caught him with some great shots.

DeGale.... I like him. I mean i watched him all through the olymipics and he had that freshness, a bit of charm. Sort of like a school kid who was just happy to be there but as a pro he seems to have turned his happy go lucky persona into one of arrogance.

If he really got his head on right he could be an excellent boxer. Certainly has the power and the talent and i hope he can go far.

Hope Kahn wins tonight. Don't really see what's so disslikable about the lad and he's certainly an exciting fighter to watch and if he can keep progressing (under roach he really has to) then there will be some great fights.

What time is the Khan fight supposed to start, minus all the preamble that is?
Ortiz vs Campbell is about to start (ring walks are underway). It's a much better fight on paper than Khan/Paulie. Those two are up next.

And because I don't like Nate (he used to post on Maxboxing), I will share this:

Ah, right, much obliged.

I'm trying to juggle that and a book so i'll give it another look in a little while.

Nate's getting clowned so far, even without the bullshit knockdown in the first.

Khan took the first and looked increasingly assured in the second half of the round.

More standoffish and even in the second.

For me Khan certainly had the first and he fifth, second and fourth more even but conceivable his. The third to motor mouth.

excellent fight from Khan , Iam not his biggest fan but that was some of the best punching I have seen in a long time.
I had the fight even over the first 5 rounds but then Khan stepped up a gear and took all the rest of the rounds.
Would of like to see Khan knock him out , but still a good soild win for Khan

Well done Khan. First I'd seen him here. Thank god Malignaggi got a hiding.

Kahn just looks more and more like a real boxer now.

I kept wondering why when he snapped the head back with his excellent jab he didn't ram home his right to the chin or body. He could have ended it sooner.

I give credit to Malignaggi though, tough guy but it was right to be stopped.

What next for Kahn i wonder... there is always THE question mark but as far as boxing skills, speed and good power. Plus his natural size and reach advantage in the devision he looks capable. He looked very calm and composed after he settled down and he never once seemed to rush in or miss wildely. Paulie was hard to hit at times.

Ortiz was awesome but if people thought Paulie looked old and past his best and view that as a way to discredit Kahns performance then they could take nothing from the Ortiz fight. Campbell was nothing.

Agree with all you say there and I still have doubts about Khan's ablity to finnish an oponent off , he should of really knocked Paulie out but he stood his ground and took the jabs well .
One thing that gets me with Khan is his body shots or should I say lack of them , he relys to much of the jabs to the head and does not work thebody enough.
I still dont feel that he has fought anybody that will really give him a fight , somebody in his prime and somebody that can test the Khan chin , he has fought once against a guy with a good punch and he was knocked out very quickly.
Still an excellent win for Khan but IMHO still work to do there.

How did it end ?

11 round stoppage. Amir totally outboxed Malignaggi throughout the fight. . . that said he did look nervous in the opening rounds despite winning them. From the 5th onwards he took real control and simply looked faster and stronger than his opponent. In the end Malignaggi had no answers and the truth is it could've been stopped earlier. But yeah Amir's looking like a boxer now, he's more composed has a fantastic defence and his jab is probably his main asset thanks to his speed.
