The RedCafe Boxing Thread

It's each to their own really. Plenty of boxers or anyone in the public eye have some kind of history and/or controversial opinion. I'd imagine most of us do as well.

Mayweather, Fury, Tyson, Pacquiao etc have all views or have done something in the past. I think it's better to be detached from their views sometimes to be honesdt. Would end up disliking most people.
It's not a one off thing those is it? He's constantly saying things that aren't just controversial but disgusting.

Surely it doesn't matter that much if it's a one off thing?

Mike Tyson is a convicted rapist and is held up on a pedastel now, constantly on chat shows etc. Mayweather was found guilty of battering his wife/girlfriend which is far worse than anything Fury has ever done, Pacquiao is also a homophobe, used to run cock fighting events, constantly cheated on his wife and is perceived as this dead nice guy.

Fury is far from perfect and I can see why people may dislike him but it's not like he's the only boxer or person who has certain views. I dunno why people get so wound up by what celebrities say really. Just ignore them if it pisses you off it's not that hard.

I'd guess Wlad would win due to the fact he is a much better boxer really. AJ always had that threat of a knockout though. It'd be a massive fight if it happened though, probably sell out a huge arena and make them both a fortune.

Bit quiet on Crolla talk considering he's fighting in a few hours. Hopefully h wins and he is one of the few boxers who will seemingly fight anyone.

I said it wasn't a one off.

Doesn't really matter what they those other boxers have done, and no, I don't like them as people either. The bloke has no redeemable features other than being pretty good at boxing. He's a cretin.

What time is crolla fight at?

Im in hotel in manchester and theres fecking rugby on

Likely 20-30 mins yet at least. In the 5th of the fight before it now with judges decision looking promising.

10:30pm walk in wouldn't surprise me.

I saw Anthony Joshua against Breazeale. I don't have much knowledge of boxing but he looked really good to me, dominant and confident.

what are peoples thoughts for this? A step too far for Anthony?

Weird, thought the thread would be a bit more lively. Cagey start so far.
yeah very cagey first round, but the speed of linares here is showing.

I love paulie malignaggi's commentary.

crolla hurt there after such a good round

Crolla seemed to run out of gas from round 10 onwards and couldn't maintain the pace he set.

Classy interviews from both fighters. Linares deservedly won, I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch.

Paulie was going on about home cooking a bit too much.
He soured the fight for a few rounds, at one point the future of the British boxing scene was in doubt!
