I know team Frampton have dismissed Quigg's fitness, saying 'all boxers train hard' but Quigg is exceptional in that regard. He was assessed by the sports science department at Salford University and the findings were as follows
'Scott Quigg has undertaken a battery of tests and left experts convinced that he’s one of the fittest boxers in the world.
Bury’s Quigg (24-0-1) spent a day with his strength and conditioning coach Ric Moylan University of Salford, Human Performance Laboratory.
The results left professionals in that field amazed as the British champ flew through the
assessments. Moylan revealed: “When it came to fitness levels, Scott was up there with elite endurance athletes like Sir Chris Hoy and Mo Farah.
“I have been involved with professional sportsmen for 15 years and Scott is one of the fitness guys I have ever seen. “He did fitness, performance and endurance tests, blood analysis, and urine tests, but Scott’s determination was equally as impressive as his world class fitness'
I read in the Boxing News, a fighter that had lost to both Frampton and Quigg ( can't remember who) and he favoured Quigg, saying his power didn't drop from the first round to the last. I think that can be key tonight. Quigg will be live from the first bell to the last.
