The RedCafe Boxing Thread

Despite the Klitschko and Fury farce I still like David Haye and I think he's a really good fighter. I reckon he'll make his comeback on the Frampton v Quigg undercard.

Speaking of Frampton v Quigg, the press conferences over the last few days have been interesting. A lot of people seem to think Frampton is rattled a bit. It's clear he dislikes Eddie Hearn and Joe Gallagher. I don't blame him, Hearn is alright but Joe Gallagher is a knob. I'm picking Frampton to beat Quigg convincingly.

Yeah Frampton had an interview on SSN yesterday and said he can't stand either of them but doesn't mind Quigg. In fairness they're both dicks, proper smug the pair of them.

Gallagher saying that as soon as Quigg connects to either head or body then it's goodnight, don't see that happening myself - they can't honestly be that confident. Quigg has potential to hurt Frampton but I hope the game plan comes down to more than trying to knock Framptons head off.

Press conferences have already got me pumped for Frampton-Quigg. Always find it weird when the smaller and more compact guy is the superior boxer than the long rangy guy.

Yeah Frampton Quigg has the potential to be a fight of the year candidate. And it wouldn't surprise me if we see a re-match out in Belfast.

Anyone try and get tickets to it? Sold out in 10 minutes apparently, I managed to get 4 for me and my mates so can't wait!!

Yeah I don't mind Haye, he seems a nice enough guy and is a hugely entertaining boxer. His "comebacks" are usually more desperate for attention than anything like Froch which annoys me a bit but I wouldn't mind seeing him fight again.

If Fury loses I'd imagine Haye is a good fall back option for him and the likes of Joshua. Although he's a huge risk for someone like Joshua I think at this moment in time.

The cynic in me says it's another one that won't happen though...

Oh definitely, He'd need to step up the class of his opponents considerably if he's to be anywhere near ready for Haye, and that's taking into account the fact that Haye will inevitably be pretty rusty. The problem is the general dearth of top quality in the division.

Perhaps fighting this fellow unbeaten chap is a sign that Joshua is ready for the next stage in his development.

What a shocking decision that was.

Anyone going the crolla fight tomorrow? I'm going and was wondering what time he's fighting, heard it'll be around 10:45 but thought that was pretty late for a fight in the UK?

Think it'll be even later than that. Because Murray is fighting in Germany on the same Sky Broadcast, they're showing that before the Crolla fight.

Alvarez - 155lb (limit)
Cotto - 153.5lb

GO MIGUEL!

Yeah I'm going Hearn is saying 10:45 so I'd say then is a good time to go for.

Murray is scheduled to walk out at 9:45 so it should all work out ok.

They might be a bit later but I don't think it will be by much.

WOW, this is just brilliant, cheers for posting, it had me in stitches!!! From 11mins dead when Tyson asks for a name who'd touch him and Wlad replies David Haye, after he laughs Tyson just owns him, comparing how he better back off the heavy talk as he did that to Haye and he pulled out, asking him just to turn up, that's all he wants, alluding to the fact Wlad has already pulled out once with injury and then finishing with David Haye is your best victory, you're in trouble my friend.

Even he gets schooled with the jab, he sure is entertaining for boxing.

Murray not doing enough here. His punches aren't deterring Abraham (to be expected) but nor does he have the conviction or work rate / output to compensate for that so far.

Good fight that. Abraham is a good 12 round fighter, but Calzaghe would've 120-108 him :D

thinking the point deduction should make Abraham the winner, but I actually think Murray gets it.

Can definitely see how that fight ended up as a SD, but no way was that 116-111 to Abraham.

Watching Murray v Abraham whilst waiting for the Cotto v Canelo.......
That's at 4am GMT right?

Sad loss for Murray, didn't think it should have been 116-111 though, that's bollocks.

That minute silence was spoilt by a few drunken idiots.

That shot was brutal. Reminded me of Golovkin vs Murray...

World Champ, baby!

10 shots landed combined in the first round of the Rigondeaux fight.
So bad..

Roy Jones is so terrible, no insight at all. He sounds punch dunk as well

Very tactical fight, Canelo caught up towards the end. Being the much bigger man showed, his punches had a lot more umph to them. I have it 114-114.
