Perhaps

I think that Mayweather's power is underrated due to his generally defensive style and his reluctance to 'close the show' when he is comfortable in a fight. I feel that Cotto will have to hunt Mayweather down like Ricky Hatton did and in that situation Mayweather is forced to become a more devastating fighter, which is quite capable of.

Pretty much my thoughts on it.

Terrible stoppage in the Mccloskey - Corley fight. No doubt that Mccloskey would have gone down if he was clocked hard again but this is boxing. He was far from out on his feet in my opinion.

A loss against Corley is a terrible thing to have on your record if you aspire to a World Class status. Corley was 2-8 in his last ten fights and has lost numerous fights against decent opponents.

McCloskey was magnanimous in his post fight interview, didn't really complain about the stoppage, perhaps it wasn't such a bad decision.

At first I thought it was a terrible stoppage, but I can sort of sympathize with the ref a bit, however he should have still given it just a few seconds to see if he would recover or not. Yes he was very shaky, but he was still focused on Corley and able to stand without any real problem, plus the ref reacted far too quickly and seemed to push himself into making a decision he wasn't even sure about.

As you say he was very calm and generous in his post interview, seemed to fully accept the stoppage without any bitterness. Shame it had to end that way, if Mccloskey could have weathered that storm - although unlikely - it would have set up a great finish.

It's probably not going to start till after 5am. There's a chance it could be a bit earlier, but I'd say prepare for around 5.

Aye that's what I thought, but a decent first round from Shane to be fair.

No chance he will win though.

Thought it would be much more so to be fair, cant believe how good Shanes been.

Cotto won't last 12 rounds.

Have to disagree. I think it will be a convincing points decision for Floyd, but don't see him stopping Cotto. Cotto is a smart fighter and don't think he will eat so many punches that the fight has to be stopped. Also don't think Floyd is a devastating puncher or finisher at this stage of his career, not that he ever was.

All in all, Floyd convincingly on points. Would love to be wrong, Cotto is an absolute class act in every way. But Floyd is just too good.

I have been 100% behind Mayweather as long as I've watched him. Having Justin Beiber walk out with him makes me question it.

It's starting now for those who wanted an update.

Also hope Mayweather batters Beiber after the fight, which I assume is the only reason he's brought him there with him.

Which famous kid does Cotto have with him? Don't tell me it's something boring like his son.

Commentator making the observation that Mayweather's choice in leather shorts might cost him in the later rounds, as the sweat build-up and weight could wear him down.

I'm now convinced that is the thing that will bring down Mayweather.

We shall see. Fancy a bet?

Triple H, Bieber and Fiddy. Wonder what they talk about.

Of course no world boxing title event is complete without Triple H.

Bieber is probably the last person I'd want having my back in a fight...

Cotto's giving it the sad eyes. It's not going to win me over you bastard.

Sure, a friendly bet seems fair enough. :)

As for the fight, I missed the 1st round. 2nd went to Cotto IMO. Don't see it staying like this, though. Commentators are awful.

Boxnation commentators are pathetic. Floyd probably inched the third, but much closer than they're making it seem. Ignoring the punches landed by Cotto. May as well just be Floyd in the ring with the way they're going on. Sickening.

Masterclass from Pretty Boy here.

It's really not. He's defintely winning, but this is his toughest fight so far in recent memory. Commentary is genuinely embarassing.

Glad to see Cotto putting it up to him. But Floyd is a level above. Phenomenal boxer.

My commentary is in Spanish so I have no idea what they're saying :lol:

Mayweather's defence is one of the prettiest things in sports, and he's giving a pristine example of it tonight. Cotto giving it all and can't hit a clean shot, they're all just glances. PBF's counter is just ridiculous.

Count yourself lucky. I've had to mute boxnation. It's as if they had a script since before the fight and are sticking to it.

I thought Cotto's landed a lot of solid shots. Floyd has had the cleaner work, but Cotto has done well for me. Certainly not being dominated.

Yeah his defence is just outstanding. Not sure why he's trading with Cotto so much, when he can completely dominate him on the outside.
