The MMA thread

Its great for shit posting but don't believe a word of what you read on there.

look at this...Khabib "rosa parks" nurmagomedov

MMA memes are born on that forum

I've never heard of it. To be honest I was looking for more info and I clicked on what was the most active UFC forum. Any suggestions by the way?

MMA reddit for me followed by Underground.
Sherdogs sub forum about other mma organisations is well worth a follow

Derek Brunson wins best tweet on the situation.
“Bring him to the ring Saturday and force him to fight Kahbib with Mazegatti as the ref”

It looks like its an open secret that Conor is a massive coke head.

I would suspend Conor for at least a year over this.

Not just for embarrassing himself, the UFC, and MMA at large; with the child like, criminal antics. More so because he has completely destablized the event. For all we know, many of the fighters may have completely lost their focus to fight properly after narrowly escaping injury.

He has ruined the livelihoods of the likes of Artom, Chiesa, Cacares, and potentially Borg and lost the UFC millions of dollars since less people are going to buy the event with loads of fighters scratched at the last minute.

Good points. Surely Dana White could sue him at this point as well as individual fighters?

Hope he gets taken to the cleaners!.

It depends. When I fight my first instinct is to go on the ground and on top. Then you can throw punches if need be. In a brawl with multiple people, well thats a different story, seeing as I was specifically talking about Khabib fecking McGregor up in a street fight.
It's like that Krav Maga expert dissed Gracie the other day about that basketball fight that happened. If you study a certain martial art you are always going to say it's most effective. I did Judo and it helped me in street fights so I'm always going to advocate it.

I think you hit the nail on the head. In a real fight situation, you are always going to go with what you are good at. My grappling is piss poor, which is why it is on my list of must learns. I have a military grade certification in Israeli Krav Maga, so that’s always my go to. I spent a couple of years doing karate and Tae Kwon Do, which taught me some good kicking fundamentals. But I fecked it off after that because it’s far too rigid and linear. I’m competent in Muay Thai, which really built on some Krav components such as elbows and knees, and I have basic grounding in Wushu, and Jeet Kun Do.

But my locking and grappling is shite, and I’d be in serious trouble if a fight went to ground. Which is why i tend to avoid it at all costs. I’m currently training in boxing with the aim of fighting a state golden gloves championship next summer. It’s a lot tougher than I expected because I’ve had to completely retrain how I punch. Ultimately I think I’ll be a much better fighter for it though.

Once I’ve done that I was thinking of doing a couple of years of intense BJJ, to get proficient in ground work. And my final one on the list is Qi Na for all the joint locks. I’ve still got 13 months boxing training ahead of me before I think about grappling styles, any recommendations, let me know.

I'm out for the weekend but McGregor is going to get his ass sued off. feck him!

Agree with the post entirely except the Artem point, he only has himself to blame by being Conor’s lap dog and unable to do anything himself. Guy is one of the most pathetic wastes of space in the UFC, I hope they cut him cos of it and reckon they will.

I imagine Conor gets a token suspension as ufc punishment and this eventually is used to hype up a fight. Behind the scenes Dana is probably hoping for a khabib win tomorrow to make it more deseriable.

Nate tweeting is laughable, the biggest no mark journeyman who landed on his feet cos of 1 fight. I imagine his money is a lot less than it is and the 1 fight he has that people would be interested in is potentially out the window cos khabib jumped the queue. His stock with the ufc has gone down cos of this incident really. Conor’s leverage for a massive contract probably has as well.

Chiesa obviously got a call from a lawyer telling him not to go near an Octagon.

He seems genuinely disgusted with Conor but is still vague about ever doing business with him again. Should’ve just said there and then he’s never allowed to fight in the UFC again.

What do MMA junkies think of this? PB is relatively new to UFC I think. I don't agree with him but I think a lot of people will.

No doubt McGregor played his part in UFC but there was UFC before him and now there is model for success. So does UFC really need him anymore?

Will be the biggest, most hyped PPV in the history of UFC - a record that'll stand for decades, too. That's if Conor gets off the cocktail of drugs he's on and ever steps in the octagon again, mind.

What Dana says and what Dana does are at opposite ends of the spectrum. He'll be working every angle possible to keep this down to a damage limitation exercise. Conor is his cash cow, even moreso after this!

Guess UFC have to take the lost revenue from the fight card being decimated - as if they sue him they’ll probably drive him away

That or sue him and bump up his contract substantially

So this is the footage McGregor fans are using to justify what happened.

Yeah it's not that bad really.

Equally I think people kind of forget Artem is a professional fighter (a pretty shit one) so it's not like Khabib went and booted off with a young innocent kid. Artem was talking shit about him and Khabib rightfully responded to it.

Artem was saying all sorts about Khabib so at least back it up if you're going to do it. He looks such an idiot in all of this really.

And I am sure these kinds of confrontations happen all the time, where you have a bunch of fighters in the same place for press/weigh ins etc. How many clips are there of Jones/DC shit talking each other in random hotel lobbies, even post the whole weigh in fight? Hopefully they throw the book at Conor, 3 fights cancelled, and who knows how it affects those cutting weight, esp Khabib who has had problems in the past.

I hope he's invested his money well because he's going to need it. He's going to be sued into oblivion.

Getting fronted out alone by an entire entourage is never going to be a situation where the loner does something unless he has a screw loose.

Practically all these fighters know about street rules and still have that instinct, which is why they act out in the first place - testosterone and male pride and ego has a lot to answer for, but such is life.

I think expecting a lone man to do anything in that situation is as ridiculous as those mocking a weight drained Khabib for not hopping off the bus into unknown danger against an unknown amount of opponents all fully fed (& coked up) and eager to fight.

Huh? I don't expect him to turn into Rambo and kill them all but he said what he said, he denied saying it which makes him look worse, front up a bit and admit to it if you're going to say it. I just find it funny a professional fighter had to get his pal to fly over to help him out. They could of just left it. Talk about male pride etc but that's all out the window when someone has to fly from another country to fight your battles....and then you stand around with them looking an idiot whilst they go on a coked up rampage.

McGregor is finished in the UFC now

He's definitely not, he'll be fighting before the end of next year again.

I was out yesterday and said to my mate " I hope Connor McGreggor just fecks off and we don't have to listen to his shit anymore" - Come home and he's wrecked a bus and been arrested.

Raging he's got three fights pulled from the card.

He's an absolute ass clown.

You're still talking about one man vs however many - that changes everything about the situation even if he has beef with only one of them. You should know full well these silly things are crew vs crew or whatever term you want to use.

I have a feeling if he fights in the UFC again it will be by the end of this year.

I’d love to know if his “entourage” really were SBG fighters, as reported, or if they were a bunch of the scumbag gangsters he’s been hanging round with. His coach seems like a stand-up guy and can’t imagine he’d tolerate a bunch of his fighters flying across the Atlantic to behave like tools.

Such a clown. Are there any McGregor fans left? Hope he gets sued for all that Mayweather money

Got to love Dana White's interview, telling it how it is. Made me laugh when he said "Does anybody want to see McGregor fight?"...unfortunately there are millions of people who are even more pumped now to see Khabib and McGregor fight! I would love to see that fight but feck the whole circus that comes with it and McGregor getting any money from it

Guy is a fecking idiot. Aside from the fights he has managed to already cancel, what if it affects those in the process of cutting weight, which is hard enough anyway.

I am stuck between wanting him cut and gone for a while and also getting him in a cage with Khabib asap so he can maul him.

I have two close friends who train at SBG and they swear its a group of close knit, sound bunch of lads who simply want to train mma. These two have appeared on Conors social media pages so its not as if they're on the outside.
It has to be gangsters. There's big shot solicitors who train at the gym!
Normal 9-5 folk is 90 percent of that place.

Fecking hell what a complete shambles. 3 fights canned, fighters hurt and women like Rose who’s got a huge fight tomorrow have to go through this shit. Absolute disgrace.

Unfortunately if Khabib wins tomorrow it will build to one of the biggest fights in UFC history and everyone (myself included) wants to see it.
