@Oggmonster we've probably reached a conclusion with the discussion at large. I'll just say, if I'm Wonderboy, I'd be pissed that I'm being messed with like this.
Like I've said before, the consequences, I believe, are massive should Wonderboy lose - he won't be contesting for anything belt-wise for a long, long time, if ever again and I just don't like that.
The ducking of Till makes perfect sense to me - a young, hungry and skilled fighter with nothing to lose and everything to gain in relation to whoever he's up against who's trying to consolidate their position and look upward, not down at someone who wants them as a stepping stone. Ranks should come with perks - that's essentially what they are, right, seeds?
Seeds get kept apart until it's time for a big upheaval and that's what rank is supposed to be there for in the first place.
I am surprised you didn't use Conor as an example, btw. He basically set a blueprint every up-and-comer has tried to follow to varying degrees of success. The difference there, (I was gonna counter) is that Conor riled up those big guns and they wanted to fight him - he got under their skin enough that they were willing to bet their own rank and status... Dana didn't have to do anything, which is the only way it should be - that the highly-ranked fighter calls the shots.
I like both fighters, but I feel for Wonderboy knowing why and how this has come about - it's just damn shady and disrespectful.
