The MMA thread

Everyone needs to understand that Rumble benefits most from this. He more than anyone needed DC to rest his hands on the towel. I seriously doubt this was DC "cheating." He went out back and the NY commission and UFC probably colluded together to work out a way around this, with no one being in more support of it than Rumble. Had DC missed weight the fight would still have gone ahead, but the title wouldn't be on the line. Everyone was complicit in this and Rumble would have been delighted when DC "made" weight.
No way Rumble fights without the title on the line.. Even if he wins, Jones is getting the next shot so hes fecked either way.
It is cheating, lets be honest. The limits are there for a reason. It's not the weigh in around the limit, ah close enough division.

True. It's just seen as poor form to miss weight I suppose. Albeit I do massively sympathise with them for having to do them weight uts, especially after watching the BBC 3 Documentary on it. There must be no worse feeling than missing weight after the work they do. Link to the doc below...not sure if it's been posted here before apologises if so. It's worth a watch if you've not seen it.

So you are saying Rumble would have turned the fight down, when PPV's and tickets had been bought, because DC was a pound over weight? That's totally unrealistic. It's happened once before in a title fight and the match went ahead. I'm not sure there has ever been a fight cancelled due to a fighter missing weight by 1 pound. It just doesn't happen. The fight would have gone ahead.

Plucking for Rumble here, agree with other sentiments in this thread in regards to DC being a bit of a bore.

If Rumble wins I'd like to see him fight Jones and DC fight Manuwa or the winner of Gus/Glover

If DC wins, then he should fight Jones and Rumble fight Manuwa or the Gus/Glover winner

He already destroyed all of them. I would like him to fight Misha Cirkunov.

So what did people think of Cormier using the extra towels to distribute his weight during the weigh ins?
Sneaky but I'd rather that then he missed weight because i want to see rumble take that belt from him.

Every time i see this thread bumped, i fear the worst

Come on Rumble. I hope to see it live but I'll either be passed out or blind drunk by then. Cormier looked sharper than he used to be though.

I like DC but how the feck has he got away with that towel bollocks?

If you are on a scale and put even 1 finger on anything you can change the reading.
UFC couldn't afford to have another flop after the Khabib incident

Meanwhile, McGregor at the Grand National earlier. Man gives zero fecks

Rumble is a complete moron, squandering two rounds of energy trying to prove a point that he could take DC down. He was there for the taking with the broken nose.
