The MMA thread

Dana just confirmed he's offered McGregor and Mayweather $25 million each and is willing to negotiate...
Interesting...

I imagine that means doing it under the UFC banner with the UFC taking all the PPV income, then Floyd and Conor getting cut in on the number of PPV buys above a certain amount.

Great payday for McGregor but I doubt Floyd will take it though. I think he makes upwards of $50m a fight.

Would be funny seeing a ring decked out in UFC, Tapout, Corn Nutz sponsors...

I really hope Anderson takes this seriously.

He has the time to prepare at least. Also Brunson style might play to his favour? would be nice to see him getting a classic Silva finish.

If Brunson puts his hands on him, he won't be as nice as DC for sure.

Agree it would sucks if he eats a big loss.

Wonder if Bisping is waiting for him to win so he can give him a rematch? Anything to avoid Gay Jesus.

In meantime

I thought better of you but clearly was wrong

Both may well beat him. But do you really think McGregor runs scared of anyone in the UFC?

I don't think he is scared, he could obviously win those fights, but he is playing his own game here and we can only guess what's gonna be his next move.

Personally i think he would prefer to fight Mayweather and then fight for the welterweight title, and maybe retire after that.

I'm obviously hopeful I'm wrong and he fights the winner of Khabib/Cucuy., but when was the last time he defended a belt?

He never has. He appears only interested in chasing the belts and the big money fights

I only took exception to your post as it appeared you were suggesting he was avoiding them due to other reasons.

I honestly think he 100% believes he can beat anyone.

He sure can beat anyone.

I can see him going to Russia to fight Khabib. That would be one of the biggest events ever, in the octagon and outside of it. The green army vs the red one... would be a classic and Conor would make ridiculous money too. For me that would be the positive if Khabib beats Ferguson, the chance for that fight in Russia (rematch in Ireland ).

I think there is an extremely high chance Conor would get disqualified in a boxing contest with Mayweather.

Only way he doesn't is if he keeps telling himself how much $$$ he is being paid for being absolutely humiliated for as long as Floyd wants to toy with him.

Pride and frustration will get the better of him and that will be the disqualification as he lashes out with an illegal move.

It would take an amazing amount of discipline for him to restrain himself once he realises he can't land a single hit on one of the greatest boxers of all time.

One would think it's all farcical hype that won't be sanctioned, but once the mind-boggling amounts of money the fight would make are clear, who knows.

Would be funny if McGregor lost his rag and just started booting feck out of Mayweather

It's got a massive chance of happening, if they do meet for a boxing contest, imo. Even elite boxers lose their mind when they're trying to hit Mayweather and are being parried, and countered, and blocked, and tied up endlessly. Conor is a proud man with a huge following and a reputation to uphold; I can't see it sitting well with him when he realises just how far beyond him as a boxer Floyd is.

I doubt it would be in Russia since the PPV $$ are made in the US and holding an event at 5am NY time wouldn't really work for that.

couldn't they just accommodate it like they did with the Bisping fight in Manchester?

Russians are drunk 24/7 so they won't care/notice.

Floyd vs Conor would be a fecking farce and a waste of everyones time.....no way would I buy that pile of shit of a ppv.....he needs to concentrate on defending his belt....Dana laments the way boxing is run yet UFC heads down that road more and more every day with him letting Conor do and fight whoever he wants.

Yes agreed. It would be a complete prostitution of everything that's good about sport.

Floyd v Conor would be worth it due to the undercard it would have.
If it happens I see Floyd getting the lions share but allowing UFC to stack the undercard fights.
Could be one of the biggest cards of all time

Boring fight to watch this last one.

So surprised when he tapped...
Cool choke!

This bearded guy has to be the worst fighter i've seen in mma, the short time i've followed the sport.
