"Conor is having two kids and his girlfriend isn't having twins so you guys do the math". Ouch.

A 30 odd minute conference and the cnuts barely ask Joanna/Karolina a single fecking question despite it being a brilliant fight and Joanna being a good talker. It's why I'm bored of McGregor conferences, it's the same shit everytime, him saying a load of bollocks and 98% of the questions being directed at him and his opponent with no regard to the other fighters.

It'd be glorious to see McGregor get beat on Saturday but I'm at a stage where I'm now confident he'll win.

I don't know why Joanna has such a large following... She's such a cnut... bored of McGregor and his trash talk, getting boring now. that presser was like an episode of the walking dead

Like McGregor take them away from promotion and they are both decent people

That's a rather bizarre performance from Alvarez in the press conference. Very contrived. Thought he'd just let Conor do the promotion for him.

Has anybody got a ball park figure as to what time McGregors fight will start at in the UK? i am in work early sunday and want to just wake myself up for this.

5am

But it depends on the fights before his. I think last time he fought all the fights were quick and he was about 4:45am

Fighting skills and style. Public opinion was going the same way before her last fight and then after winning she was more popular than ever. Similar with Mcgregor, he has other things going for him of course with the trash talk etc but at the end of the day his fighting style is very exciting too and even those who don't like him want to watch him fight. I'm the same as you in that I can't be arsed with the press conferences anymore but I'm no less excited for the fight, it should be great.

People are entitled to their opinion and not to like Conor or whoever but I don't think the act is getting old really as it still draws millions of fans. Dana in his mini Q&A (cos no one seemed arsed about the other fighters which was a bit insulting) even mentioned the record numbers on Embedded and the build up. It's cos of Conor really that these people are watching. New York is a nice selling point and has helped make a huge card but if I wanted to watch a show on New YOrk I'd watch a documentary not the UFC Embedded series.

He mentions how McGregor schooled Diaz in the press conferences but I'd say that's far from true. Out of all his opponents Diaz had him rattled the most I think by genuinely never really rising to the stuff he says. He also had the most memorable line with "Touch butt with that dork in the park" that's still quoted today.

I also don't buy his argument the whole thing with the chair was set up. I seriously doubt Alvarez and McGregor sit backstage discussing how Alvarez can kick a chair at McGregor's feet and then McGregor can pick it up and pretend to hit it at him. It probably is just heat of the moment stuff.

The press conferences in general have become a bit of a drama in themselves. I personally find it all quite funny still myself, I can see why people may think it's a bit tired but then there's plenty to counter them. The Embedded stuff you see the more real side of the fighters, the Mac Life stuff (although people won't watch that if they don't like Conor to be fair) is more genuine, these press conferences are just last minute performances really. I doubt the other fighters are to bothered about getting asked no questions nor are they bothered by Conor's antics as you could see him laughing with Thompson at the end of the presser before the face offs.

The guy writing the article seems to want a stand up comedian, he's forgetting they're fighters first, Conor still appeals to plenty of people and even when they begin to turn on him he can spin it like Mayweather and people pay to see him lose. There's a lot of mileage in him. He is an act but I don't think people on the whole will get hugely tired of it really.

He was clearly reading lines off his phone as well. He actually did alright before Conor got there and then he was desperate to upstage him it seemed. IT was a bit cringing the whole "Do you want to know Conor's announcement?" bit cos no one said yes and he just had to go "Oh you don't...ok then."

I don't get why people don't just let McGregor give them shit and laugh it off, I'd imagine it would probably piss him off more if they don't actually rise to it. Let him keep the 2 belts with him etc.

She's probably alright outside the build up. The UFC snapchat yesterday had them both stood with each other at the Polish Embassy. It's all just hype, they probably want exposure for the earlier fights and think people might only turn on for Conor, this is a chance for all the fighters to have their biggest ever audience tune in to watch them. Not many would buy a PPV just for them 2 but I think a few will tune in earlier now to watch it cos of yesterday.

Hes saying and doing nothing different than before perhaps louder or more brash and distasteful. Just haters trying to sound profound... Putting quotation marks next to each sentence makes anything sound pointless. Its just hype to sell the fight. I am not going to get on my high horse unless I myself am prepared to go through the grueling training and risk my life in every fight and guaranteed brain damage.

Could be anytime between 5am and 6:30am. Main Card starts at 3am and it's a large card with two title fights before Alvarez and McGregor so my guess is it's going to be a late one.

What utter nonsense. The problem is that nobody has shut him up so the same questions he gets asked gets the same responses.
People should take these press conferences as they are, if you ignore them and judge his character on his other press junkets then there's a lot of milage left in the tank. Nobody looks good at these things.
His last fight was a monster success for crying out loud. Now he's headlining the greatest card of all time, in the most iconic stadium of all time on mma biggest ever night.

The talk is also obviously for the crowd. These videos:

Show them both are pretty calm, the first one they're pretty jovial with each other as well. It's probably all a bit pointless the presser stuff but it's just to egg on the watching crowd. The sit down interviews they're letting each other speak for the large part.

The pre-fight pressers involving Connor are looking increasingly cartoonish and scripted, almost at WWE levels.

Cerrone - Gastelum is off as it stands I think. Gastelum 8 pounds over and finding it hard to cut anymore, Cerrone already weighed in and NYSAC won't let fights go ahead if there is more than 5 pounds in difference between fighters. Thiago Alves 6 pounds over but Miller hasn't weighed in yet so has to stop cutting weight and re-hydrate for the fight to go ahead. Would be a blow if both fights get called off.

Why the feck they havent changed the rules about the purse distribution after missing weight...

Should be at least 60% taken from the fat bastards.

Be the 3rd time Gastelum has missed weight in 8 UFC fights, pretty poor really. I don't get how they can miss weight by that much especially not for a card this size. It's just poor.

Officially off. Ridiculous by Gastelum, has to be cut like Rumble was. Was an amazing fight that as well, could have had title implications for Cerrone.

I think he might be, he refuses to go up a weight and can't make 170 it seems. No point keeping him round. Get rid of him and teach him hard way andh e might come back and be prepared to fight in his actual weight class.

I had him to beat Cerrone....out of interest I put an acca on the card and that was one of them. Is that bet void now or does it just recalculate odds and take the fight off? Can't remember doing an accumulator on MMA before.

Imagine having the opportunity to fight at the MSG in a historic event and be denied due to some fat cnut just hours before it.

Should have never been allowed back to welterweight in the first place. After he missed weight the last time Dana said he would be forced to fight at middleweight from now on. Then after one win at middleweight they let him straight back. Same for Oliveira too, he should have been forced to go to lightweight ages ago. They made Lineker stop fighting at flyweight and it's worked out well for all involved as he is excelling in the bantamweight division.

Didnt Lineker miss the bantamweight limit in his last fight?

No one can fight him now, the weigh ins are done. They did Jacare incase one of Weidman or Romero didn't make weight. Cowboy will get paid (and Jacare will) shame that he can't fight in such a historic event though. He's done a lot for the UFC over the years and deserved to be on the card.

Good for you though. Your accumulator might still give you some money. :D

I was looking forward to Cowboy's 4th straight finish in the Welterweight division.

Haha, to be honest mate I think that was the one that was giving me the decent returns! It's more than halved the bet him not being on it now.

I know it isn't fair on Cerrone but they should have made Gastelum stop cutting weight once they knew he wouldn't make it and have him re-hydrate to fight Jacare so the card wouldn't have taken a hit.

yeah i always put a Accu and without some underdog its hard to really make good money.

I usually do 1 or 2 accumulators per fight night (around 7-8 fights at least) and i have lost pretty much all of them because of one fight that feck me over, usually some underdog i picked...

last week was Diego Sanchez though, i bet against him

My biggest upset was when Overeem was fighting Miocic. Got the whole card right... And after that knock-down (followed by guillotine) i was already celebrating thinking if what to do with the money.:(
