Ariel Helwani is leaving FOX. As it's come out of the blue it sounds like he may have been forced out, but who knows. Perhaps for leaking McGregor - Diaz 2?

Meh, doesn't really matter. His MMA Hour, MMA Beat and MMAFighting.com stuff will carry on as per usual.

In fairness to the UFC (or Ariel Helwani if he chose to leave) it was never going to work. It's a huge conflict of interests doing what he did. It'd be like being a journalist for a national news paper and then working for Man Utd. You've got to leak stuff to keep your job at 1 of them but then it directly goes against working for the other.

Diego Brandao suspended for testing positive to cannabis at UFC195. this guys never learn!

being first offense (is it?) how long his suspension gonna be?

Nice.

Is anyone watching the MMA hour right now? Jon Jones is just on talking about how he has gotten 5 tickets for his driving since the hit and run. Including one for drag racing. Yep drag racing.

Of course it was all bullshit according to him and he did nothing wrong. He said it will all be breaking soon and he wanted to get ahead of it.

He's an idiot.

The only chance DC has is if Jones comes back extremely rusty. If Jones is anywhere near his previous performance levels, he wins. And I'm not saying he'll win easy, but he'll be pretty much in control.

Jones' attitude is reminiscent of Rousey's in the 2 or 3 fights leading up to the Holm fight. Cocky and contemptuous of anyone who might dare oppose her. DC seems oddly calm.

Didn't he say he wished he could spit in Jones' face?

Neither of them are likeable IMO. I respect both as fighters but prefer Jon Jones style.

I haven't seen anything in DC's personality that is similar to Jones'. He's a fairly likeable guy, albeit quite annoying in the way he talks.

That was for the first fight and after Jones started calling him a pussy when he thought they weren't on air or being recorded.

While Cormier might seem calm it's clear he's annoyed that people were cheering Jones on his return yet booing himself. And in fairness to him I'm just as baffled, I don't really get what Cormier has done wrong for people to act like he's the bad guy in this feud.

Jones' entire beef seems to be from when Cormier shoved him at the pre-fight hype/face off last time, which is a bit childish imo. They both got fined for that and need to move on from it.

DC reminds me of Frank Grimes in The Simpsons, gradually being driven insane by everyone liking Jones despite him obviously being a dick.

I can't stand DC. He was the one that pushed Jones first in that famous presser brawl, threatened to spit at his face, constantly attacking Jones about his addiction (which is quite a low blow in my opinion), tells fans who they should like, tells Gustaffson he should retire etc etc. Jones is a knob but DC isn't this upstanding pillar of society people think he is.

People support Jones over DC for a number of reasons in my opinion:

1. Most people prefer his fighting style
2. Most people still regard him as the rightful champ as he never lost the belt
3. Most people don't like being told who to cheer and who to boo

Plus many other reasons I'm sure. Personally, I want Jones to win because I like the way he fights. I couldnt care less about his personal problems.

But he is a complete knob as well

Outside of Jones it's clear that Cormier plays that role (what you see with Gus) to sell fights. It's no different what so ever to the likes of McGregor or Sonnen who created characters to sell fights. Jones stuff doesn't come off like he's doing it to sell fights what so ever, he just comes across as a bit of a dick. I don't think you can really criticise Cormier for saying he'd spit in Jones face either, he'd taken plenty of shit from Jones up to that point. I don't remember Cormier telling fans who they should and shouldn't like either, I think it was more him being annoyed and baffled at him being booed when Jones made his return from suspension. I wouldn't call Cormier a saint but I haven't seen anything to believe he's some massive asshole.

Jones talent isn't in question at all, I just can't find myself to root for him at all anymore. I'll never let that cloud my judgement on his talent and performances though.
