Anyone got the new UFC game? Quite fun, a lot more fighters than the old one. Still can't get the hang of the grappling system and transitions, but managed to win a few fights online nonetheless.

I bought it but havent had a chance to play it. I was quite decent online in the previous one so hope I can get to grips with this one fairly quick. Can't wait to go online and smash up some Conor McGregor fans

Got one a couple of years ago, thought it was mediocre, so haven't gone back, hated the submission system IIRC. Was always a laugh kicking peoples heads off with Anderson Silva, though.

Yeah it seems to me like ground and pound is too easy and submissions are too hard, but I could just be shit at submissions.

You lot interested in joining a UFC league? Here's the website if so. I'm IAmStoney over there. Does be super fun, BUT, it has some of the top 10 ranked players in the world.

First come first served, most of the best fighters are took though (PS4) but they're looking for Xbox players.

This. Could never get round the mechanics of the game (Especially the ground game) and ended up spamming front head kicks with Anderson Silva. I ended up KO'ing my friend as Anderson Silva five times in a row because he had no idea how to get past those front head kicks.

Hunt/Mir this weekend to round out the month. April looks very tasty though.

Fight Night: Rothwell vs. Dos Santos - April 10th - I'm not crazy about the card itself but as a JDS fan I'm excited for this fight. JDS really needs a win here after the Overeem loss. Rothwell is on a four fight win streak, all finishes.

UFC on Fox: Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson - April 16th - WHAT.A.CARD! Seriously, this one has flown right under the radar but it's stacked. You've got the likes of Dodson, Correia/Pennington, Swanson etc on the undercard. Look at this for the four main card fights though:

Rose Namajunas vs. Tecia Torres
Lyoto Machida vs. Dan Henderson
Glover Teixeira vs. Rashad Evans
Khabib vs. Tony Ferguson - Main Event

Just an absolute killer main card. Huge fight for Namajunas, a win here will probably get her a title shot. Henderson seriously needs to retire but hey, I'm not going to complain about him going against Machida. Teixeira/Rashad could be a really good fight but it'll depend what Rashad turns up, it could easily be an awful fight depending on that. And the main event needs no introductions.

UFC 197: Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier - April 23rd - Finish the month with the big one. Light Heavyweight and Flyweight titles on the line. Pettis also on the card against Barboza. Is Cejudo the man to finally dethrone Mighty Mouse? And of course Jones/Cormier 2 which is going to be pretty fecking awesome.

Going to be a tasty one next month.

I had no idea Henderson and Machida were fighting. Nice. Also number 1 contender fights in both strawweight and lightweight. Good stuff.

I wish Lyoto and Henderson would retire. Tired of watching Henderson in particular get more and more brain damaged.

Henderson for sure. I'd like to see Machida have a couple more 'dream' fights before hanging it up, more for selfish reasons of my own because I'm a big fan of his. Such a great fighter during his best years, I still think he's capable of having a few more. He mostly loses to top level fighters, certainly no shame in the Rockhold loss as he was and is on an absolute tear and destroying everybody. The Weidman fight was a really good one. Romero one was close until he got finished in the third (and Romero was likely juicing, although some believe Machida has been too recently).

I don't think Machida is one of those cases where you look at him and think "Please hang the gloves up for your own safety" like Henderson. He win's the majority of his fights and the ones he doesn't are usually quite close or not him getting completely dismantled.

Mackenzie Dern has announced she is transitioning to MMA and signed with Legacy FC for her debut. She's a bjj prodigy amongst the females and once beat Gabi Garcia in an openweight match. She'll be a 115'er. This is her...:

and this is Gabi Garcia with Wanderlei Silva for reference.

I'm on ps4 and only play sometimes on weekends, I'd be a wasted slot in that league

'kinell look at that

So Mousasi vs. Derek Brunson being looked at for UFC 200? A bit surprised by that...

Barao finally moving up to 145, get's Lil' Heathen, should be a solid fight.

Hewani tweeting that they're close to finalising a McGregor v Diaz rematch for 200 too.

Weird. And where does that leave the featherweight division?

Just watched Jones/DC 1 on fight pass. Jones pretended to celebrate a couple of seconds before the final bell, then proceeded to clock DC in the face, which was pretty unsportsmanlike. I'm generally not much of a DC fan but I don't like Jones pretending like he's still the champ, carrying the belt around to pressers etc. I may actually cheer DC on in the rematch.

So he wants to fight Nate again, but this time would like to give Nate a full training camp. I suppose the Featherweight division will be held hostage until Conor feels like returning.

Hubris is going to be his downfall ffs. Diaz has the frame and experience to fight at welterweight, McGregor doesn't. Diaz has the cardio to fight at WW, McGregor doesn't.

He should be fighting either Edgar or Aldo at 200.

This news has actually really annoyed me.

Agreed, or at a minimum he should be fighting someone at LW.

Is the Connor Diaz rematch a certainty? Because I know Helwani has been campaigning for it. I think it's ridiculous as I've seen everything I need to see with regards to that. It's not like it was a flash KO or some shit. Would much rather see him defend the title.

Having said that, Zuffa are closer to getting the MSG venue so maybe they told Frankie he could fight Connor in that event.

Bit surprising to see the rematch been reported so soon. Think Aldo Edgar for interim belt would have to happen if Diaz is the fight. Also have to say McGregor wasn't lying when he described himself as a belt if he headlines the biggest UFC event to date in a non title fight.

it seems Frankie still injured so that's why they need to find new options. If that's the case, i prefer him fighting Diaz rather than Aldo.

Diaz will just beat him again. Conor will punch himself out, just maybe in the third round, and the same shit will happen. As @DatIrishFella says, he hasn't got the frame nor the cardio.

Jones has reached the level of Ortiz and Koscheck for me in terms of how much I dislike them. He just comes across as an absolute asshole and I'm just as baffled as DC to see so many people blind to that and thinking DC is the bad guy in this feud.
Agree, would love to see DC beat him.

IM guessing any rematch would be at LW, also i think conor might want to move out of Dublin and pick somewhere higher to train to get the cardio right and if he is serious about LW, it time to drop the Featherweight belt, so he can add a bit of real muscle mass to his frame and once he does that it would be almost impossible to go back down.

The Aldo fight is more worthy of rematch because of how it played out.

I'm more certain Conor would beat Aldo again (he needs to land just one punch after all...), so personally i would like to see a Diaz rematch. It was a good close fight the first time, so we can expect a better fight the second time around, even if the final result is the same.

Of course in an ideal world Edgar and RDA would be fit and Conor would be fighting one of them, but if no champion fight is available, a Diaz rematch is alright. Its the toughest fight Conor can pick, so yeah, kudos to him and ill be looking forward to it.

I don't mind Jones, I find him quite funny really. Especially with how annoyed DC Gets with him, equally hes one of the best fighters ever so that helps.

It's worth noting DC lost a young daughter to a car accident, it's no wonder he hates Jones.
Definitely cheering him on.

Yeah I don't excuse what he's done outside of the UFC but to be honest I never really judge fighters (or athletes) like that, try judging them as they're profession. Again not excusing them it just doesnt affect how I view them at their sport.

DC's mistake was playing up the good guy vs bad guy angle when many people generally don't care about the antics outside the cage and just care about the fighting ability and style of the fighters. I still felt bad for him because I think he's a good guy who people should be rooting for to beat Jones but he just played it the wrong way and he's probably not viewed as being very 'cool' so it has backfired on him.

Also I'm totally unimpressed by this supposed rematch between Mcgregor and Diaz.
