Wow, Yoel is one scary dude! That surprise backhand really caught Jacare off guard. Jacare almost had an armbar, though, but that backhand really took a lot out of him. Yoel has a huge advantage now, especially since Yoel looked so relaxed in that round.

This is perhaps a time when we question SBG

What is the game plan here? He looked accepting to go to the gound in both rounds which is stupid against Maia

Nelson has basically just defended

Saw a interview with Nelson before the fight where he was asked if he planned to outstrike Maia given that's where he might have an advantage. He said that actually he hoped that it went to the ground because that's what the fans wanted and he was confident he could win anywhere.

Seemed like what you'd expect someone to say in that situation but also the last thing you'd actually expect them to do once the fight starts. It never even crossed my mind that this was his actual plan...

Yoel looks tired after that grappling defence against Jacare. Jacare has brought himself back into the match with some good grappling and composure in his game.

Yeah I thought Gunnar would make much more effort to keep it standing where he had the only advantage.

That said I don't think he could. Maia was just too big and completely man handled him.

This fight needs a big 3rd round too.

Ronda Rousey level tactics.

This looks close. Jacare had a very good Round 3, but Romero's perfect first round may give him the win there.

If it were me, I could go for Jacare as he got a close Round 2 win for me. A draw could be given by the judges, though.

Oh I thought I heard them say this one was a 5 round fight?
That could be related to Jacare's fights outside of UFC.

And that call...that was expected. That one judge saw his Round 1 and concluded it there.

I'm disappointed. Jacare should have won IMO given that he won Rounds 2 and 3, but whatever, the judges give away the wins, not us.

I don't know enough about this sport to say that's the wrong call, but if there was another 2 minutes out there, Romero was going to sleep.

I thought it was a draw lol cos of the first round. But you know, judges... And plus theres always one judge who goes different to the other two.

It's all down to personal opinion. There's no real absolute way to score performances in these matches other than your eyes. Out of 10, the two judges thought that Yoel scored higher in two rounds, which is what I didn't see, but whatever.

Yeah I guess if you know it's only 3 rounds, coming out all guns blazing in the first and then hanging on for the last two is a legitimate strategy. Seems risky though.

I wonder how that dude is doing with his 11 fight accumulator?

Mental betting on this event. I don't remember a main card that was so difficult to call.

Rockhold looks a bit like Cesc Fabregas. I remember Weidman beating Anderson Silva, but don't remember being overly impressed with him (I know that might sound silly). I don't know enough to call this fight but for some reason I hope Rockhold wins it.

I think Yoel wanted to finish off Jacare with a TKO, but Jacare's defending and grappling tired out Yoel in the end, which is why this was so close in the end.

I can't really call this one between Rockhold and Weidman. It looks really close, and either one of them can get this one.

The biggest problem UFC has is it doesn't have it's own scoring system. It's the boxing system and it has so many flaws, especially in 3 round bouts.
